~{GM_Orario}~
"Use the money wisely, okay?" I wave at them at the lone mother figure in front of the church who bows down to me, including the numerous children as well who wave at me in return
"Thank you very much!"
"Come again!"
"Let's play next time, mister!"
Their smiles linger in my mind even as I continue to walk away.
After the fun part was gone, which was stealing the money, the money became useless to me.
Maybe useless is not correct, but rather annoying since it was rather huge to store in my inventory or Paddy inventory, and I doubt this money can be used since most of them is stolen, and if use, it can be traced back
That's why I decided to donate to a nearby church at Daedalus, that way even if the Ganesha familia manage to trace the money he could not take the money from them since most of them are poor.
To make it even harder to trace I also donate it to nearby charities as well around the city
And with that 100 Million Valis were gone in just a single day, never knew raising a kid is going to be that expensive.
So the numerous kid before won't be having financial trouble in the near future, and they can at least wear other clothing than a fucking rags. Like my god, it was sore to my eyes seeing kids wearing rags clothing and begging on the street when I saw them nearby.
It's rather strange feeling since if it was a real world I won't have the guts to donate 100 million dollar to chairty since I am struggling to get a basic needs.
I would have used the money for myself instead of other people, call me selfish but that's the true feeling I have.
Too bad this is not the real world, so I can use the money whatever I want without worry.
But damn, my back hurts. Kids these days, with their affection whenever they get the chance to annoy me.
But still living in this world sure is great
The great thing about this world is that I don't have to worry about stamina or sleep deprivation which boosts my playtime by a lot.
I also improved my clothing so I don't stand out, this time I was wearing common medieval clothing that only had a single color on both the shirt and the pants.
It's kind of bland to wear this kind of clothing but it will have to do.
As I began reading the latest news that Paddy provided me, I noticed there was a festival monster parade event that was sponsored by the Ganesha Familia and guild.
Intrigued by the monster event, I begin heading to the festival. Not before checking where the last battle against the girl I fought a moment ago was. And let me tell you?
The damage was a lot more than expected.
Around 500 meters of the blast site, all of the glass was shattered, causing an uncountable number of injuries and damage to the property including numerous injuries.
The loud noise of the nuclear bomb woke up all of the people of Orarion not to mention when I heard people when they saw the mushroom cloud it struck fear inside every person.
The guild right now is full of people seeking answers about last night's explosion, I have no doubt that if they found out what I have done they would execute me.
I mean there is even a full-blown bounty for my head now, especially from the Ganesha family since I injure their captain. I even heard their god was furious about this news.
But luckily the picture was just a sketch of my disguise, other than the armor I wore before that covered my entire body there was no further information regarding it other than all the crimes I had committed.
After leaving the battlefield, I headed to the festival, which was crowded with vendors left and right selling a variety of food and merchandise, people walking, and so on.
The only expression they showed on their face was happiness.
It's like the previous day's accident gone from their mind. The people of Orario sure are tough.
I don't know why, but I felt irk little irked at seeing it.
As I snagged some snacks from one of the vendors, I couldn't resist taking a bite and letting out a satisfied sigh.
It is such bliss to have a taste of food in the game, not only can I try various foods But also I don't have to worry about going broke on how many snacks I buy.
But it sucks that there is a lack of street food that I miss like burgers, pizza, ice cream, coca cola, and many more
I can spawn them with a tool gun, but the feeling of eating it fresh out of the vendor is not the same. So I still prefer to bough them instead of spawning them.
Maybe next time I should try cooking or hire a chef to do it for me.
Despite being level 1, most people call me with the unofficial title call little pet by the people around me.
It is kind of a strange name, and I already know why since I have a paddy near me all the time who floats near me.
It kind of hurts me that Paddy is more popular than me, even with the children at the church who frequently play with them.
But It was kind of funny seeing Paddy face full of drawings from the kids, even after repeatedly saying to Paddy he did not try to stop them from drawing on his body.
Even after leaving the church, he did not get rid of the drawing.
I am telling you, Paddy is a tsundere. He just does not know that.
I thought I could continue enjoying the moment, but that changed as we continued walking. I noticed a group of people nearby with horrified expressions who were unmistakably that are sprinted in the opposite direction as though their lives depended on it.
When one running looks like everyone else begins to run opposite direction as well, some even barricade their windows, close the shops, just to do whatever they can to hide.
I raised an eyebrow, placing a hand on my chin. "Huh? Did something happen?"
"Report: Detecting a monster 250 northeast"
"A monster in the surface of Orario?" I asked, surprised. "Are you sure, Paddy?"
"Affirmative
"Well, that's not something you see every day. Let's take a look. Paddy, get me up in the air."
Without hesitation, Paddy extended his mechanical arms toward me. Grabbing hold, I felt a familiar lift as he slowly carried me upward.
After a few moments, we landed on the tallest building nearby. From this vantage point, the city stretched out before me, a patchwork of bustling streets and colorful festival decorations. But my attention was immediately drawn to a thick column of smoke rising into the sky.
Reaching into my inventory, I pulled out a pair of binoculars. Adjusting the focus, I zeroed in on the source of the commotion.
Only to see some kind of huge rope of green plants causing chaos on the surrounding area, It was hard to tell what kind of monster with the amount of smoke was covering the area.
A blinding flash of light greeted me for a few seconds before I adjusted the settings, muttering under my breath. Once the glare subsided, I finally got a good look at the creature.
It was... strange, to say the least. A massive flower-like monstrosity, its center a gaping mouth lined with sharp teeth. Its vine-like appendages whipped around violently, smashing through walls and scattering debris everywhere.
"…Weird," I muttered, lowering the binoculars. I glanced at Paddy, who hovered silently beside me. "Information?"
"Report: This monster is not listed in the database provided by the Guild."
I raised an eyebrow. "Seriously? Thousand of monsters of date in your memory and you've got nothing?"
"Affirmative," he replied flatly.
I let out a frustrated sigh, tossing the binoculars back into my inventory. "How useless can you be, Paddy?"
Paddy buzzed in what sounded like mock indignation, but I ignored him. With no reliable intel, there was only one way to figure out what was going on—up close and personal.
A grin spread across my face as excitement welled up inside me. Tossing caution to the wind, I took off in a sprint, leaping from rooftop to rooftop toward the chaos. The closer I got, the more I could hear the sounds of panic below.
The streets were a mess. Civilians ran in every direction, desperately trying to escape the monster's rampage. Debris littered the ground, and the air was thick with the sounds of screaming and crumbling stones.
When I reached the edge of the last rooftop, I paused, taking in the scene. The monster was even more massive up close, its vines lashing out at anything in its path. But what caught my attention was 3 figures already locked in battle with it.
I recognized them instantly—the twin Amazons, Tiona and Tione, darting around with impressive agility, and the famed Sword Princess, Aiz Wallenstein
For a moment, I felt annoyed by it. If anyone could handle a monster like this, it was them. Each of them was a high-level adventurer, and from what I'd heard, most of them were at least Level 5—strong enough to take on monsters from the deeper floors of the Dungeon.
"Here I thought I could save the day... guess I'll just sit back and watch the pros handle it," I murmured to Paddy, leaning against the rooftop ledge.
But as I observed, something unexpected happened.
The monster wasn't just holding its own—it was overwhelming them.
One of the creature's massive vines whipped toward Tione, catching her off guard. She tried to dodge, but the vine moved too fast, striking her with brutal force and sending her flying into a nearby wall with a sickening thud.
I winced. "Ouch... that's gonna leave a mark."
Even the usually composed Aiz seemed to be struggling to keep up. As if something was holding her back from using her true ability.
"Analysis?" I asked Paddy, my tone more serious now.
"Report: Monster exhibits strong physical defense. Current tactics are insufficient to neutralize the threat."
"Yeah, no kidding," I muttered, cracking my knuckles. "Welp, looks like it's our turn to jump in."
I hovered my hands over the Familiar System interface, scrolling through the list of characters at my disposal. My finger paused, and a sly grin spread across my face.
[Character Usage: Darth Vader]
A familiar surge of power coursed through me as the system activated. My body felt heavier, yet stronger, and cold. Strength and speed amplified, I ignited the crimson lightsaber with a sharp hiss.
Raising my lightsaber high, I shouted, "MY KILL!" and sprinted toward the writhing tentacled beast.
One of the Amazon sisters, noticing my reckless charge, yelled after me, "H-hey! Step back!"
The monster roared, lunging with countless vine-like tentacles. I parried each attack with the glowing blade, slicing through the appendages with surprising ease.
As the tentacle was cut down the monster roared in anger, it regenerated it's tentacle before continuing to lunge forward many of its tentacles which I continued to parry with ease.
Honestly, this felt like playing Beat Saber. I just needed to focus on the right spots at the right times and strike with just enough strength.
It was actually pretty fun.
When the monster realized that it's not working, it began to slowly step back, so I prepared to counter another attack, my attention was drawn by a bright light in the corner of my eyes. I glance over to see a lone figure—some magician with brown hair with elf ears was standing in the open, chanting an incantation right in front of the monster.
What the heck is that magician doing, chanting in front of a monster without anyone defending her? Is she trying to get herself killed?
And I was right, the monster's massive vine shot toward her with terrifying speed.
Realizing the danger, I sprinted as fast as I could, closing the distance between us. Channeling the Force, I leaped high into the air, closing the gap in a single bound. The tentacle struck just as I arrived, and I managed to block the blow with my own body.
I was thrown up in the air before smashing into one of the house walls.
The force of the impact sent me flying backward. I crashed into the side of a nearby house, the thunderous impact shaking the entire structure.
"KUAH…!" I screamed, slumping down dramatically.
Just kidding. I didn't feel a thing.
I pushed myself up, brushing off the debris like it was just dust from a light tumble. "Man, that was a ride."
Still, my shield display told a less forgiving story.
[Health 1000, Shield 16.657]
"Holy crap," I muttered, my eyes widening as I did the math. "That thing shaved off 3,500 shield points in a single hit? This thing's gotta be at least a Level 4 monster."
Monster like that should be in the deep floor, why the fuck is it in the surface?
The monster roared again, thrashing its remaining tentacles. It wasn't done yet, but neither was I. That's when Paddy's earlier words echoed in my head: High physical defense means you'll need something that packs a bigger punch.
And I just know the thing that can be used.
"Sorry, monster," I smirked, a grin tugging at my lips. "But looks like you're gonna be my test subject."
Without hesitation, I pulled out a remote terminal, its sleek interface lighting up with a live-feed targeting display from the skies. A satisfying beep confirmed the lock-on, and I zeroed in on the monster's center mass.
"Alright, big guy," I muttered, my finger hovering over the launch button. "Let's see how you like this."
I pressed the button, and a mechanical voice crackled to life "Cruise missile inbound."
A distant roar filled the air. I glanced up just in time to see the missile streaking down from the heavens, a fiery comet of vengeance.
The impact was earth-shattering. A deafening explosion ripped through the area, sending shockwaves that rattled the ground beneath me. Smoke and flames engulfed the monster, and as the chaos settled, the carnage became evident—charred tentacles, scorched petals, and smoldering debris scattered across the battlefield.
"Bullseye," I whistled, admiring the fiery devastation.
The monster's remaining tendrils twitched weakly, but it was clear the fight was over. For now.
As I glanced at the interface of my Call of Duty Mod Killstreak tracker, Paddy hovered beside me, his voice cutting through the silence. "Report: 5 monsters detected throughout the festival area."
I raised an eyebrow "Huh... Looks like Ganesha messed up somewhere. Strange."
"Recommendation: eliminate targets swiftly to prevent casualties," Paddy added, his tone as neutral as ever.
"Yeah, let's do that," I replied, cracking my neck.
Without hesitation, I left the battlefield quickly made my way to the highest tower nearby, pulling out my trusty sniper rifle—a Barrett M82. Its weight was familiar, reassuring. I set up my position, scanning the city through the scope.
With the assist of my new map I fired shot after shot, the sharp crack of my rifle echoed through the city as each monster dropping like clockwork. Limbs were severed, bodies collapsed, and the streets slowly began to clear.
"One more left," I muttered to myself, lining up my next shot. But something caught my eye—a plume of smoke in the distance. Adjusting the scope, I zoomed in to get a clearer view and I instantly recognized her—Bell Cranel.
She was facing off with a towering Yeti, the beast's icy breath visible as it lunged toward her.
A surge of curiosity hit me. This was no coincidence—it had to be a Canon event.
I bit back a sigh, raising the rifle again, ready to take the shot. But then I hesitated.
This was her moment. The main character always had their turning point, their defining battle. If I interfered now, would it spoil her growth?
I lowered the barrel of the sniper rifle.
"Let's see how far she can go," I muttered to myself, a smirk tugging at the corner of my mouth.
I switched off the targeting scope and leaned back against the wall, watching the struggle below. Bell was more than capable. If she didn't pull through this, then she wasn't ready for the title of hero.
I switched off the targeting scope and leaned back against the wall, watching the struggle below. Bell was more than capable. If she didn't pull through this, then she wasn't ready for the title of hero.
And at the end of her struggle she manage to defeat the yeti easily, and with that I left the festival behind to rest.
