In Asgard, the royal palace stands as an exceptionally prominent structure.
From the Bifröst, the tallest and most striking building visible is the royal palace, the residence of Odin, the All-Father.
Upon reaching the palace, Wonder Woman realized she hadn't encountered a single guard along the way.
The vast halls of the palace were eerily empty, a deathly silence hanging over them. Apart from the sound of her own footsteps, there was nothing else to hear.
It was clear that Loki had already found an excuse to dismiss the guards, creating an opportunity for Laufey, the King of the Frost Giants, to enter Asgard undeterred.
Laufey was preparing to strike down his old adversary, Odin, the All-Father.
However, Laufey had no idea that the one truly planning to deliver the fatal blow was not him but his own son and supposed ally, Loki.
Though Odin seemed to be in a comatose, vegetative state, he still loomed above all, quietly maintaining his grip on everything.
Scanning the area, Wonder Woman made her way toward the most grandiose and majestic part of the palace.
Odin was currently resting in the depths of the royal palace.
It wasn't hard to find him.
What caught her attention was the presence of Frost Giants moving through the palace.
These beings from Jotunheim, with their purple-hued skin and features distinct from both humans and Asgardians, were clearly Laufey followers.
Even if she couldn't immediately locate Odin, she could easily extract his whereabouts from one of them.
The Royal Palace, Odin Resting Place.
"They say you can still hear and see everything around you… Then you must know that your death will come at the hands of Laufey, King of the Frost Giants," Laufey said, leaning over the golden bed where the one-eyed All-Father, Odin, lay in a deep slumber. His voice was low, filled with hatred and a twisted sense of satisfaction.
As Laufey hand formed an ice spike, he prepared to drive it into Odin heart.
Whoosh!
A beam of energy shot through the air, striking Laufey.
Boom!
Laufey massive body was thrown sideways, and under the impact of the prepared energy blast, his form was shattered.
Half of his body lay on the ground, everything below his waist obliterated by the beam.
But even so, Laufey powerful vitality as the King of the Frost Giants kept his mind clear. His crimson eyes stared at Loki, filled with disbelief.
"Why?"
Laufey gritted his teeth. "Why betray me?"
"This isn't betrayal," Loki said, raising the scepter in his hand and aiming it at the now-helpless Laufey.
His voice was icy. "I was never of Jotunheim. I am of Asgard. I am the son of Odin, the All-Father."
"Remember this: you were killed by the son of Odin, the King of the Gods."
With those words, Loki unleashed another energy blast from his scepter.
Whoosh!
The devastating beam shattered Laufey body into countless fiery sparks, leaving not even a trace of his remains.
The Frost Giant King was completely annihilated.
"Loki!"
At that moment, Frigga, Odin wife and the Queen of Asgard, who had been knocked down by Laufey earlier, got up from the floor.
She rushed forward, embracing Loki tightly.
"You saved him!"
The two embraced.
Loki promised Frigga, "I swear to you, they will pay the price."
By "they," he was, of course, referring to the Frost Giants and their realm, Jotunheim.
Loki was undoubtedly a jealous and manipulative child.
Jealous of his brother Thor, Loki used trickery to cause Thor to make a grave mistake, angering Odin and leading to Thor exile as a mortal.
With his father in the Odinsleep, Loki seized the throne as acting king.
If the story had ended there, Loki would have solidified his image as a cunning and ambitious antagonist—a classic villain with grand designs.
But, unfortunately for Loki, the story protagonist was Thor, and Loki ambitions were destined to end in tragedy.
In the original timeline, when Loki saw his brother returning to reclaim the throne, he lashed out in anger.
Without considering the consequences, he sent the Destroyer to kill Thor, which ultimately helped Thor regain his powers.
Knowing that his plans were unraveling, Loki proceeded with his final scheme.
Feigning loyalty, he lured Laufey, the Frost Giant King of Jotunheim, into Asgard, only to kill him at Odin bedside.
This provided Loki with the pretext to declare war on Jotunheim, with the intent of completely destroying it, demonstrating his strength and authority.
In doing so, Loki hoped to prove himself superior to Thor. Even if Thor returned, Loki deeds would eclipse his brother, and he would become Asgard hero.
In the timeline where Anton now found himself, Thor had not yet regained his powers. Even if he returned to Asgard, he would be powerless to stop Loki plans.
If Loki carried out his original scheme—killing Laufey, saving Odin, and using the incident as a pretext to declare war on Jotunheim and annihilate it—his glory would be unparalleled.
Without his powers, Thor would have no chance of reclaiming the throne from Loki.
"Once something is in my hands, I will never let it go," Loki muttered, his gaze darkening.
"Loki!"
Suddenly, a crisp voice rang out, echoing through the vast space.
This was Odin resting place.
The guards could only stand watch at the entrance they dared not step inside.
Moreover, Loki had already dismissed all palace guards under the guise of other tasks.
At this moment, the only people allowed to enter this area were Odin closest family members—Thor, Frigga, and Loki himself.
The voice was that of a woman, clearly not Thor. That left only one possibility.
"It her," Loki said coldly, his eyes fixed on the entrance to the resting chamber.
From the shadows emerged a tall, graceful woman—the same mysterious figure he had seen through the Destroyer perspective.
The one who had disrupted his plans and whose origins were still unknown.
"Intruding in the royal palace is a crime punishable by death," Loki said in a low tone, his words heavy with menace. "You've violated Asgardian law."
"If I deserve death, then so do you—and more so," Wonder Woman replied calmly, gripping Mjolnir in her hand as she stared at Loki with an unflinching gaze.
Her expression was serene, yet her tone carried undeniable authority.
"Loki, you have committed far greater sins: scheming in the shadows, harming your brother, deceiving your king, and betraying your mother.
My trespass is forgivable, but your actions are utterly unforgivable."
"Loki."
Frigga gaze flicked to Mjolnir, gripped firmly in Wonder Woman hand, before turning to her son, Loki.
As the Queen of Asgard, Frigga was no fool. In her youth, she had been an exceptional warrior and a master of magic.
Though age had diminished her power, her intuition remained sharp.
Previously, her trust in Loki had prevented her from questioning him too deeply.
But now, hearing someone stand before her denouncing Loki and observing his uncharacteristically uneasy expression, a look of sorrow crossed her face.
Though she was only Loki adoptive mother, Frigga loved him as if he were her own flesh and blood. She could see the guilt and discomfort etched in his demeanor.
"Mother, I will explain everything to you," Loki said, his eyes never leaving Wonder Woman at the doorway.
At the same time, he raised his scepter, gathering energy at its tip before unleashing a powerful blast directly at Wonder Woman.
Boom!
Wonder Woman leaped backward, the energy blast shattering the ground where she had stood. Stone shards flew in all directions, and the entire palace shook from the impact.
Despite the commotion, Odin remained on his golden bed, his eyes closed and his body motionless.
Suspended in midair, Wonder Woman glanced toward Odin, lying still within the palace.
Looking at the old man, she couldn't help but purse her lips.
She couldn't shake the feeling that he was faking it.
Whoosh!
Meanwhile, Loki bolted from the palace.
He didn't immediately engage Wonder Woman in a direct confrontation. Guessing that Thor might have returned to Asgard alongside Wonder Woman, Loki decided that his priority wasn't fighting her but reaching the Bifröst as quickly as possible.
His plan was to unleash the devastating energy beam and obliterate Jotunheim.
Only then could he justify his actions to his father and mother—Odin and Frigga.
And only then could he firmly secure the throne.
"Hmph!"
Loki shot Wonder Woman a sharp glance, then mounted a winged Pegasus outside the palace and raced toward the Bifröst at full speed.
But Wonder Woman wasn't about to let him get away so easily. With a flick of her wrist, she hurled Mjolnir.
Sizzle, crackle!
Lightning arced wildly, converging on Mjolnir as it streaked through the sky toward Loki, who was riding his Pegasus at full gallop, trying to escape.
"Damn it!"
Loki cursed under his breath as he leaped off the Pegasus.
Boom!
In the next instant, Mjolnir struck the Pegasus with devastating force.
The creature let out a mournful cry, its body torn apart in an instant, blood splattering everywhere.
"What a pity," Wonder Woman muttered, momentarily glancing at the fallen beast.
Wonder Woman expression remained cold. Though she muttered a faint "what a pity," her actions showed no hesitation.
She recalled Mjolnir, channeling the power of Thor to its fullest and summoning lightning to strike Loki.
Loki was never one for direct combat.
His strength lay in sowing discord and manipulating others, earning him the title of the God of Mischief.
But beyond his scheming, Loki had one other skill: running away.
Boom, boom, boom!
Lightning crashed down, striking Loki.
"A projection?"
Wonder Woman eyes narrowed.
Crack, crack!
The lightning obliterated Loki illusion, its energy ripping into the ground, leaving a jagged fissure as wide as a hand spreading across the palace grounds.
Nearby structures around the Asgardian royal palace trembled, alarming many Asgardians.
They looked skyward, recognizing the power of Thor lightning.
However, when they saw the figure in the sky, they realized it wasn't the Thor they knew, but an unfamiliar woman clad in armor.
The people were stunned.
"Who is that?"
"Why does she have Thor power?"
"Could she be the All-Father illegitimate daughter?"
Asgardians were naturally brave and unafraid of death. Even as the battle raged nearby, they remained unfazed and somehow found time to speculate and gossip.
Of course, Wonder Woman and Loki, engaged in their heated conflict, paid no attention to the thoughts of onlookers.
Boom, boom, boom!
Loki conjured projection after projection, evading Wonder Woman lightning strikes while inching closer to the Bifröst.
He knew he couldn't afford to get bogged down fighting this woman.
As long as he completed the final step of his plan, victory would be his.
Suspended mid-air, Wonder Woman glared at the countless illusions Loki had created to block her path.
With a cold snort, she hurled Mjolnir, smashing through most of the illusions.
Then, spreading her arms wide, she brought her forearm-guarding silver bracelets together with a sharp clash.
Boom!!
Under countless watchful eyes, the terrifying divine energy reverberated throughout Asgard, leaving its people utterly shocked.
Such immense power surely belonged to someone with the bloodline of a god-king.
Who was this woman wielding the power of Thor?
Faces filled with astonishment, the Asgardians seemed frozen in place, question marks practically glowing over their heads.
As the divine energy grew stronger, their curiosity gave way to sheer awe and terror.
Fixated on the battle in the distance, their expressions hardened, fear etched into their features.
Boom, boom, boom!
The divine energy shockwave exploded outward, like massive waves crashing over the sea, surging forward.
The visible ripples in the air rolled in layers like ocean waves, obliterating Loki illusions as they surged past.
Sizzle, crackle!
All of Loki projections dissolved under the might of the divine shockwave.
His true form was exposed for all to see.
At that moment, Loki face showed panic. The shockwave had knocked him to the ground, his scepter flying far out of reach.
Whoosh!
Mjolnir, which Wonder Woman had hurled moments before, returned to her hand.
Lying on the ground, Loki had no time to respond or act. As he saw the nameless woman preparing to strike again, the panic on his face vanished, replaced by a chilling coldness.
Boom!
Wonder Woman leaped high into the air, the ground beneath her cracking into a massive circular pit. The sheer power she unleashed was evident.
Boom, boom, boom!
Her figure shot through the air, the force shaking the very atmosphere. Mjolnir in her hand crackled with blinding lightning as she aimed a crushing blow at the motionless Loki.
"No, stop!"
Suddenly, another figure appeared out of nowhere, arms spread wide, resolutely blocking Loki path.
"Wonder Woman, don't kill him!"
