"What about Kaido? Others are afraid of him, but I am not."
Lucifer shook his head indifferently, calm and collected.
"Simon Haye is a rare top sniper, just the kind of talent that the Nether Pirates are currently lacking."
"Now that we've met, it's natural to recruit him."
"As for Kaido, Lucifer has always been the one hunting him."
"Even if Simon Haye isn't recruited, Lucifer will eventually have to face Kaido."
"Let's go. We need to leave here first."
The Nether set sail once more, slowly drifting away from the port, and soon disappeared into the vast sea.
Sometime later, at Sakura Flower Island:
Less than half an hour after Lucifer's departure, a pirate ship bearing the flag of the Whitebeard Pirates arrived.
Sakura Flower Island was part of Whitebeard's territory. If someone caused trouble here, the Whitebeard Pirates couldn't simply turn a blind eye. If they did, their authority would be questioned, and soon, anyone would think they could act recklessly in the Four Emperors' territories.
Foil Bista, the captain of the 5th division of the Whitebeard Pirates, stepped down from the ship.
This time, Bista was tasked with investigating the incident at Sakura Flower Island. The situation was simple: the troublemaker was already known, so Bista quickly got all the details.
The conflict involved Kaido's Beasts Pirates and the demon Lucifer, which was out of Bista's hands. He could only report to Whitebeard.
"Hey, Dad, it's me, Vista."
Vista took out the Den Den Mushi and connected the call. The snail transformed into Whitebeard.
"Gu la la la! It's Vista. Have you gotten everything figured out? Who dares to act recklessly on my territory?"
Whitebeard's voice held a rare hint of annoyance, as it had been a long time since anyone dared cause trouble like this.
"The investigation is clear. The Beasts Pirates were hunting down the Shinigami Pirates. The two sides clashed, and the fighting spilled over into Sakura Flower Island."
"Sakura Flower Island has some damage and casualties among the residents, but it's not too severe."
"Most of the combatants are dead. The Shinigami Pirates were wiped out, but the captain, Simon Haye, killed all the Beasts Pirates chasing him and managed to escape. He was then taken by the demon Lucifer."
Bista didn't even think much of it, and almost suggested letting it slide. After all, the troublemakers were nearly all dead.
It wouldn't be right for Whitebeard to start a war with the Beasts Pirates over this.
"Is that so? Everyone's dead, huh?"
Whitebeard fell silent for a moment before suddenly asking, "Who's this you're talking about? Was taken by the demon Lucifer…?"
"That Lucifer was involved in this too?"
Whitebeard didn't know Simon Haye; such a minor figure would've been forgotten quickly. But Lucifer, on the other hand, was unforgettable.
After all, this was the man who single-handedly stormed the Holy Land of Mariejois!
"No, according to eyewitnesses, Lucifer was just watching the battle and took Simon Haye after it ended."
"Simon Haye was seriously injured and nearly dead."
"Someone even saw him kneeling and kowtowing to Lucifer, so he's likely been taken into the Nether Pirates."
Bista didn't see it firsthand but inferred from the eyewitness accounts.
"I see. Come back first."
Whitebeard paused and then gave the order.
Later, at Whitebeard's headquarters:
"Father, what about Simon Haye?"
"Why bother with him?" Whitebeard chuckled. "If the Shinigami Pirates were still around, maybe we'd have had someone teach them a lesson, but now they're wiped out. Why bother with a dead-end pirate captain?"
"Okay, understood, Dad."
Bista ended the call and left Sakura Flower Island with his crew.
Afterward, the six pirate groups under Whitebeard's command teamed up to invade Beasts Pirates' territory, seizing two of Kaido's islands.
Both sides clashed, suffering casualties, but the incident seemed to have died down. The Whitebeard Pirates managed to show their strength without fully engaging with Kaido.
Both sides knew this conflict wouldn't escalate, and Kaido didn't take it seriously.
Meanwhile, Beasts Pirates Pursue Simon Haye:
After the Sakura Flower Island incident, the Beasts Pirates pursued Simon Haye relentlessly.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
In a sea area, two pirate ships flying the Beasts Pirates' flag chased after the Nether, firing their cannons continuously.
It was the second day after Lucifer left Sakura Island, and within just one day, the Beasts Pirates' pursuers had caught up.
"How did this guy provoke Kaido and make them chase him like this?" Cavendish muttered, looking at the pirates behind them and then glancing at the unconscious Simon Haye.
"Why do you care so much? Just kill as many of these chasers as possible. It's been a while since I had some fun."
Since Lucifer had acquired Conqueror's Haki, his kill points hadn't increased much. He had only 23,000 kill points, and he was starting to get impatient.
"Laser rays!"
Lucifer raised his hand and pointed. Two laser beams shot out, striking the two pirate ships behind them.
Rumble!
Both ships exploded, and massive fireballs erupted into the sea. The pirates aboard were instantly engulfed in flames, leaving nothing but ashes behind.
"Hey, captain, you're too quick! Save some for us next time!"
"Yeah, looks like we're pretty useless here," Enel and Cavendish grumbled, watching the pirate ships sink.
Their captain was too powerful for them to do anything when he struck.
Lucifer smiled faintly, listening to the prompt in his head.
Kill Points:
After this wave of kills, Lucifer accumulated a total of 17,000 kill points, bringing his total to 40,000 points.
Later, Simon Haye Wakes Up:
Simon Haye, completely bandaged like a rice dumpling, slowly woke up. The ship's doctor issue had become apparent—Baby5 had only done basic first aid, and the real medical treatment was necessary for his quick recovery.
"It seems we really need to find a ship doctor quickly."
"Yeah, ship doctors are important."
"We all know that, but it's not easy to find a good one."
Cavendish and Jack were discussing the issue.
Medical professionals were high-value talents in any world. These individuals led comfortable lives and didn't typically choose the life of pirates.
"Just wait a little longer. The ship doctor will come eventually."
"For now, we need to deal with the chasing soldiers. The fact that we're being hunted is still a problem."
Lucifer turned to Simon and asked, "How exactly did you provoke Kaido to get him to hunt you so persistently?"
Simon gritted his teeth. "Because of a Devil Fruit."
