My eyes widened, "really?"
He nodded, "yes. Don't get me wrong, I am kind of flattered to be the only one who could smell your pheromones but why is it like that?"
I sighed, somehow I knew the question was coming. I was surprised he hadn't asked me yet considering everyone was tiptoeing around me.
"You don't have to answer if you don't want to. I was just curious about it. I feel Damien has something to do with this."
I exhaled, my fingers gripping the edge of the desk. "You want to know what happened with Damien?"
He nodded. "I do. But only if you're ready to tell me."
I hesitated, my mind spiraling back into the past. Memories I'd spent years suppressing clawed their way to the surface. I accepted them because I needed them to tell my story.
