Soren
Good morning," I greeted the detectives as I stepped into the station.
Their faces turned toward me, their smiles so forced it was almost comical. I raised a brow, unsure what warranted the frosty reception.
I knew they were not going to welcome me but they could at least act like they were pleased to see me. I know why they wanted to see me.
It wasn't rocket science to know that the reason they were calling me was because they had been stepped over. Someone higher than them has given them orders not to do anything further so they were being sassy about it.
Well, two could play that game.
"How are you gentlemen doing today?" I continued, keeping my tone polite.
"Cut it," one of them snapped, waving a dismissive hand. "You didn't come here to exchange pleasantries, so don't pretend to care about our well-being. You're here to gloat, aren't you?"
