Sitting together at a bar in the middle of the city were the two Michaelson brothers. They each enjoyed a glass of bourbon as they reminisced over their ongoing project.
"So far, Hathaway has reported that nothing has happened that was out of human control. The little boy is just that... a little boy", Emmanuel informed.
"I've also received word from Alex and Charlene. It seems their daughter has managed to befriend the boy. They appear to be quite close already", Emmanuel informed.
"I see. But I must say, I don't feel right using that little girl this way. We put her right in the line of danger. It's lucky nothing has gone out of control so far", Hezekiah said as he took a swig from his drink.
"Well, for your information, the girl has no knowledge of the agreement between her parents and us; meaning that any kind of feeling she has for him is genuine", Emmanuel answered.
"If that's the case, I believe it should be safe to assume he will not be corrupted by his power", Hezekiah observed.
"You may be right, but we still know next to nothing about the true nature of the creature he is. Only time will tell if we were right to bring it back into being", Emmanuel said as he took another swig of his glass.
...
The cloudy night sky slowly cleared as the full moon settled into its place in the night sky.
Its light made its way through an opening at the top of the mountain all the way to the cavern; bathing the entire room.
The terrorists stopped firing the rocket propelled grenades when Samuel fell to the ground unmoving.
"How much do you think people will pay for a creature like this on the black market?" one of the terrorists asked his companions.
"I'm sure just a tiny bit of its DNA would be worth a pretty little penny. But I think having such a creature as our weapon would have its advantages", another suggested.
"He's right, we could probably take on the Whitehouse again and win this time", a third observed.
"I suggest we take it alive and find a way to brainwash it and turn it over to our side. It is still a child, it shouldn't be too difficult. We'll be able to achieve all our goals if we have it on our side", another said to the leader who grunted his approval.
While they discussed what to do with their great prize, Samuel had managed to crawl to Elizabeth and held her in his arms.
He was bathed in the light of the full moon as he cried in pain and despair, seeing her bruised and battered appearance.
"Tie them up. We'll take them with us out of this country. We've been here too long already, it's time to leave".
We'll return once we are ready. Also, we need to clear the collapsed pathway. Start getting that done as well", the leader said to his men who nodded in acknowledgement and moved to fulfill the command.
As they approached the crying monster child and unconscious little girl, the floor of the cavern began to tremble.
Soon, the entire mountain shook in a full blown earthquake that grew even more violent as Samuel's cries intensified.
Bloody tears flowed out of his crimson glowing eyes as his body began to glow and his scales subtly absorbed the light of the full moon.
The glow on his body grew brighter as his cry turned into a loud monstrous roar that reverberated all throughout the cavern.
To the horror of all the terrorists, Samuel began to shift into another form.
The feathers on his wings melted off leaving the wings looking like that of a bat but more menacing in appearance.
The human parts of his body were fully replaced, giving him the full look of whatever monster, he was.
He grew a longer snout with rows of extremely sharp fangs and his entire body was covered entirely in sharp upturned scales.
He grew to a staggering seven feet in height, towering above all the terrorists and his already large tail increased to three meters in length with its feathers turning into sharp poison tipped double edged blades.
Each swing of his tail generated an air current that could be felt by everyone in the cavern.
Samuel's eyes glowed a deep crimson as he stood before the terrorists with a snarl, Elizabeth wrapped within one of his leather like wings; almost like a protective cocoon, still unconscious but slowly recovering.
The amount of murderous intent leaking out of his monstrous form was more than enough to cause the terrorists to soil themselves.
"De...demon!!" one of the men shouted with tears in his eyes as the beast before them slowly started approaching them.
"IT'S TIME TO DIE!" Samuel roared, his voice mimicking that of an abyssal monster, as he charged at them with superhuman speed.
He went on a literal rampage, destroying everything and everyone in his path.
The terrorists, in their terror, tried fighting back with everything they had but they realized that nothing they did could slow down the beast.
The claws of the beast could slice through rock like it was butter. Imagining what it could do to them caused them to fall further into despair.
Without any hesitation, Samuel tore through all the terrorists; his fangs and claws going through everything like a shredder.
The blades on his tail would run through any who was missed by them.
As he fell to his rage and despair, his consciousness slowly faded away, leaving nothing but a rampaging beast with no conscience, filling the night with the screams of its victims.
.....
Samuel's eyes stuttered open several hours later; his head resting on Elizabeth's lap.
The morning sun stood clear in the sky, filtering through the leaves of the trees above them.
"Good, you are finally awake", Elizabeth said as she stroked his hair and horns.
"Are you alright? You were wounded", Samuel asked realizing the wound was gone.
"Yeah, I had a few broken bones as well but my body has completely healed itself. I guess it's all thanks to you", she said with a smile.
"That's good", he said with a sigh as he lifted his head and sat upright.
"Where are we?" he asked her as he took a look around. "I'm not sure. We were already here when I woke up. I think you brought us here before you passed out", she answered.
"Anyway, I'm glad you are safe", he said as he wiped the dust off her cheek. "Same here", she replied with a smile as she wiped a smudge of dried-up blood off his lips.
"I can't really recall anything that happened after you were injured. My world went red and I wanted nothing more than to hurt them".
"I really wish we didn't enter that cavern, we could have avoided the whole thing if I had been smart enough", Samuel said in self-admonishment as he stood to his feet and helped her up.
"I can't imagine what it felt like but, what's done is done. We can't change the past, we can only focus on the future", she replied, taking his hand and rising to her feet.
"I guess we should call the authorities, they need to come and sweep the place and arrest all the terrorists", Samuel said.
"It's already been done. The moment I passed out, an alert was sent to my parents with my last known location.
Coupled with the fact that I didn't return last night, my father would have likely called for backup. They should probably be here anytime soon", Elizabeth informed.
"You're right. I can hear the faint sounds of helicopters heading this way. They'll probably be here in a few minutes", Samuel said; his pointed ears twitching as he listened intently.
"That's good", she replied as she dusted herself off. "If that's taken care of, we need to head back immediately. Your parents may be really worried", Samuel advised.
"You're right. Let's go", she said and held on to him. With a beat of his wings, they were high up in the sky heading for her camp side.
Unbeknownst to Samuel and Elizabeth, the entire mountain had been reduced to a sizeable crater.
Even the hidden trucks were torn asunder, none left operational.
Everything was completely gone, the bloody bodies of the members of the terrorist organization scattered all over the ground; missing body parts.
It was as if they had willingly walked through a high powered industrial shredder,
The majority of them were clearly already dead, with the remaining few struggling to hang on to the last embers of their lives.
They were paralyzed, broken and in despair.
As one of the survivors, the leader lay on the ground, only one thought was going through his mind; 'It's all over, the world is going to be destroyed!'
