The Child Of Chaos

It has been several millennia since the cosmos and everything within it was created by the Supreme Being, the Almighty Yahweh.

Seeing that his work was done, he left the responsibility to his two children; Tathamet, his first creation and his counterpart, Anu, and retreated to his home at the top of the tree of Life, Yggdrasil.

Although they were siblings, Tathamet and Anu didn't quite like each other.

Since they were given the responsibility of maintaining balance in the cosmos by their father, the two never went head-to-head.

Taking their places on opposite sides of the cosmically large tree of life, the two siblings, essentially, never saw each other again…doing whatever they wanted.

Anu, as the younger of the two, spent his time transmuting the primordial mana of the cosmos, created by his father, and his celestial life force into divine mana, birthing the gods, spirits and deities to govern the mortal realm. These initial divine creations, propagated until there were countless number of them scattered in the heavenly and mortal realms.

After a few millennia, the divine beings split up into pantheons, drawing strength from the faith of their mortal servants; trying to surpass each other in strength and power.

Unable to interfere in the choices of his creations anymore due to the 'Absolute free will' principle of Yahweh, Anu could do nothing but retreat in silence into seclusion, greatly frustrated by the failure of his original goal.

Feeling his brother's frustration all the way on his side of the tree, Tathamet, who mostly spent the previous past millennia sleeping, could not help but snicker.

Several more millennia quickly passed, and the divine beings had grown so strong that the cosmic balance was beginning to be thrown out of whack, almost ripping apart reality and requiring immediate correction.

Unable to abstain anymore, Tathamet decided to introduce a counter power in order to restore the balance of the cosmos. Following his brother's example, Tathamet transmuted the primordial mana and his celestial life force into demonic mana and created monsters of all kinds and shapes. He created monsters that dominated the skies; monsters that dwelt in the deepest seas; monsters that roamed the surface of the land and monsters that dwelt under it.

Not wanting to experience the same downfall in Anu's plan, Tathamet had the thought of placing one creature above all the rest to keep them in line. He had to go to the mortal realm but he knew reality could shatter due to his mere presence alone.

With a plan in mind, he split a tiny portion of himself and made a humanoid avatar. Sealing his body in the tree of life, he transferred his consciousness to his new avatar and came to the mortal plane.

For the next decade, Tathamet moved from universe to universe, moving from planet to planet, all in search of the perfect candidate for King of all monsters.

As he traversed a large meadow, he came into contact with Gaia, the supreme spirit of the Earth. She wore a radiant dress with her rainbow coloured, knee-length hair cascading behind. Each step she took caused a light refreshing breeze to blow over the meadow and tiny flowers grew in her footprints.

Although he knew she was his brother's creation, he could not help but fall deeply in love with her.

Regardless of the fact that his demonic mana was the direct opposite of her divine mana, Tathamet spent years trying to court her and successfully won her affection, causing her to abandon her first husband, Uranus.

A few years into their life together, Tathamet's avatar was ganged upon and successfully destroyed by the supreme gods Kronos and his siblings, the first generation titan gods, as they sought to payback the being who broke their family apart. It didn't help that their mother chose to marry what appeared to be a mortal with demonic mana.

With his death, Tathamet's Avatar soul birthed the burning hells, appropriately named Tartarus.

Gaia, in a bid to keep herself and her unborn child safe, secluded herself and kept the pregnancy for close to a decade.

Assured that the search for her was stopped, the child was then born into the world. She instantly knew what her child's form was even though he was the first in existence.

This form was one of a kind; a dragon.

Gaia granted him the name Typhon, establishing him as and the new King of monsters.

With his connection to her, the very Earth served as a infinite battery for him…constantly fueling Typhon with primordial mana, growing the chaotic mana within him further.

His body absorbed the large quantities of mana, causing him to grow at an accelerated rate.

Fearing being discovered, Gaia placed a seal on his chaotic mana leaving his body to absorb and maintain only pure primordial mana.

In just a few decades, Typhon was matured and strong enough to go out on his own.

With her son now old enough to protect himself from any mortal threat, Gaia saw him off and then proceeded to retreat to her secluded spirit realm and lock herself away, continuing to keep an eye on her son's growth.

....

A few more centuries quickly passed and Typhon was now strong enough to challenge the gods themselves.

Even with such power, he never directly opposed them but only focused on the duty left to him by his late father…the complete subjugation of all the monsters in existence. With each encounter, Typhon grew in power exponentially.

The gods, sensing Typhon's ever-growing power, started fearing the potential heights he could surpass.

At his current strength, Typhon could already probably challenge them. At this rate, he would soon go beyond their control.

Resolved to take action, the gods sent scores of lower deities to find and eliminate the threat against their rule. This action turned out to be the final nail in their proverbial coffins as the more deities he killed and consumed, Typhon's power only increased.

Even as he faced the constant attacks from the gods, Typhon kept up with his original duty of hunting down and subjugating all the monsters in the worlds.

He soon came upon a female monster who took his breath away. She was as big as he was with a humanoid upper half and a serpentine lower half. Her name was Echidna. Falling in love with his strength, she quickly accepted his love and the two were soon united as one.

Their union soon bore fruits as over the span of a few centuries, the happy couple gave birth to a countless number of second generations of dragons and other dragon-like and serpent-like monsters.

With his blood flowing in their veins, their children also grew in strength at enhanced rates and spread all over the worlds to rule the monsters in their father's stead.

...….....

With his family's ever-growing power, the gods could no longer keep to half hearted measures.

Centuries of continual battle had made Typhon and his family too strong for a single Pantheon to handle at a time. They had no other choice but to hold a summit between all the leaders of the various pantheons.

Some of the main pantheons were the Greek, Sumerian, Egyptian, Roman, Norse Æsir and Vanir, Aztec, Hindu, Buddhist and Yoruba Orisha Pantheons. In attendance was also the chief of the angels who served as the impartial guards of the Heavenly realm.

With Typhon off planet on an exploratory journey, the united front of the gods made a strike against his family, killing his beloved wife and capturing and brainwashing all his children, turning them into the dedicated slaves of the gods.

Typhon returned home to find his wife's head nailed to the walls of their home, dried tears of blood streaking her face and her headless corpse sprawled on the floor below it.

He trembled in shock and despair as he approached her corpse and fell on his knees before it. Tears poured out of his eyes as he gently unpinned her head and cradled it in his scaly arms.

He knelt for days wallowing in despair over her corpse. As he cried, his eyes picked up on a message left for him on the wall. A quick sniff told him that the writing was done in Echidna's blood.

His heart started racing, the sound of each pump echoing within the cave. His eyes glowed as he read the message, his heartbeat increasing in tempo.

"So, this is what it's come to. Killing my wife and enslaving my children all to make me bow my head. Have they forgotten who I am? Have they forgotten WHAT I AM?! I AM THE PRIMORDIAL DRAGON…THE BEAST OF CHAOS!!" Typhon roared causing the Earth to tremble violently. Multiple fissures and tectonic shifts occurred due to his rage alone.

Deep in the center of Typhon's heart, a small crystal cracked, releasing thin traces of crimson light particles into his blood.

Typhon roared loudly, his eyes glowing a bright shade of crimson, as tears of blood streaked down his face. The crystal within his heart could no longer bear the strain and completely shattered, releasing Typhon's chaotic power, sealed by his mother Gaia as he grew.

His body glowed brightly as he let out a reality shattering roar, ripping apart the barriers separating the two realms and exposing the heavenly realm to the eyes of mere mortals.
