Chapter 116: Stay Behind

James Brown pulled John Stephens aside, and John Stephens said with some nervousness, "How much do you need? If it's too much, I'll have to wait until after the wedding to pay you."

John Stephens wasn't wealthy. His parents had managed his wedding, and with the cost of buying and decorating a house, their savings were nearly all spent. This unexpected expense for the emcee definitely hadn't been budgeted for, but luckily, they had received plenty of red envelopes at the wedding, which they'd have to use now.

This money was originally intended for their honeymoon, but it looked like the honeymoon trip was going to be put on hold. However, to have secured two celebrity hosts was worth it.

James Brown patted John Stephens on the shoulder, saying, "You don't need to pay."

"What?" John Stephens gasped with widened eyes, shouting in disbelief.

James Brown smiled and said, "I mean you don't have to give them red envelopes."
