Chapter 163: Let's Be Friends

Emily Jenkins took a rest at James Brown's house for a while, then gave James a mischievous smile and said, "Big Brother Brown, I know when to take a hint—I'll get out of your way so I won't disturb your alone time."

"Go on, go on." James smiled and waved his hand without asking Emily to stay.

Emily laughed merrily and then skipped away from James's house.

At that moment, Emma Campbell just finished washing the clothes and came out, only to find herself alone with James. Her face suddenly turned red, and she twisted the hem of her clothes and said softly, "Has Sister Jenkins left?"

"She has, must be tired. Come sit down and rest for a bit," James gestured for Emma to come over.

Emma took tiny steps and sat next to James, though there was still some distance between them.

James took a lychee and said, "Here, have a lychee; they're really fresh this season."
