James Brown was still on the road when he received a call from Sarah Grandy.
"Uncle, when are you coming back?" Sarah's tone sounded quite plaintive.
"Is there something wrong?" James Brown furrowed his brows and asked.
"I'm just so bored at home alone, come back early to keep me company," she pleaded.
"I'm busy with something."
"Alright then, just come home as soon as you're done. I'll be waiting to have dinner with you."
James Brown grunted an acknowledgment and hung up the phone, but Helen Wilson was frowning as she said, "That didn't sound like Emma Campbell. Who is this woman at your place now?"
James Brown sighed and explained, "That girl, Sarah Grandy, ran away from home because her parents were fighting and turned up at my place."
"She's staying at your place?" Helen Wilson immediately looked at James Brown with suspicion, "Isn't there only one bedroom in your house?"
"I've been sleeping on the couch at home for two days," James Brown replied irritably.
