For the next two days, after our initial opening, Azra Family Company continued to operate at our usual spot in Rat Town. Business was booming. The townspeople loved what we were offering—high-quality food at affordable prices. No one had ever eaten a freshly cooked real bread and the crystal clean water, naturally it become a hit instantly, and for my burgers and hotdogs, they were gone as soon as I started cooking. Our business become so big that Rooney even opened his own business to profit of mine, which is he and his fellow guards, offered to be paid 1 single coin a day to help me keep the customer in orderly fashion and help keep guards around our stall, naturally I paid them and they do that job nicely as they were paid to do so. Every day, more customers came, drawn by word of mouth and the irresistible aroma of our freshly cooked meals.
On the family side, Scarlett had naturally settled into her role as our dedicated guard and driver. She had become incredibly comfortable with the truck, driving it with ease and confidence, turn out she is a motorhead, become obsessed with all thing vehicles. More than that, she was becoming more open and positive, shedding her initial awkwardness around me. It was a pleasant change to see her becoming so much more at ease within the family, Scarlett even went as far as asking me to buy her a motorcycle of her choice as her wedding gift she said, naturally she was shy about it, But, Natasha and Selene said, she had to put a month of work first and then I can gift her what she wants. The 2 just wanted to keep her mood up as she were right now, and kept her negative thought out of her head by floating a hope before her, so I obliged.
On another note, Selene had officially joined me in becoming a social media enthusiast. She created her own Stargram account and, surprisingly, had begun gaining a loyal following. However, she was constantly baffled by the strange fascination people had with her mechanical arm.
"Azra, why are they so obsessed with my arm?" she asked, scrolling through her notifications.
I chuckled. "Why don't you research it yourself? You're smart—you'll figure it out."
"Alright…". She said with a huff,
And true to her inquisitive nature, she did just that. After some digging, Selene discovered that while my old Earth had advanced technology, its modernization had taken a different path compared to this world.
"Darling, this Is both amazing and also unexpected… no wonder they were that passionate about my arm…". After a few hours of diving head first into the world of the internet, she was able to found and piece together what she found and create a deduction.
"Yeah, that world…I certainly unique and also odd, I guess...".
There were many things here that didn't exist back on my old Earth and vice versa. This revelation sparked something within her, and soon, she had found her direction in the world of social media—she would become a tech reviewer.
She embraced her new passion, analyzing and comparing technology from both worlds. It wasn't long before she developed a reputation as a researcher of sorts, sharing detailed explanations of technological aspects from this world while reviewing remnants of old Earth's innovations. But, of course, the internet had its own take on things.
Because Selene was connected to me—and since the internet already recognized her as my 'second wife'—people assumed she was just an actress using CGI to create an elaborate tech reviewer persona.
"I can't believe this!" Selene groaned as we sat in the car, scrolling through the latest comments.
"What?" I asked her, for the last 2 day I have seen her rather comical outburst.
"Why do they keep saying I'm just really committed to the 'CGI tech reviewer' gimmick?!"
"Oh~ hahahaha!" inwardly now I know why she were breaking into outburst now, just like me she had been recognized as another 'CGI' actor since she was openly connected to me, then again, her arm really does seem sci-fi when it was shown to my old Earth.
Natasha chuckled from the passenger seat. "It's because they can't believe something like you is real."
Selene pouted, crossing her arms. "But I am real!"
I patted her shoulder reassuringly. "That's just how the internet is, Darling. They like to joke about everything. Just enjoy the interactions."
Selene grumbled under her breath but eventually sighed in resignation. "Fine… But it still annoys me."
While Selene and I dominated the social media space in our own ways, Natasha was carving out her own niche. Unlike us, she was widely recognized as a real person doing real things. Though not as famous as me or Selene, she had a fiercely loyal fanbase.
Her followers consisted mostly of housewives, both young and old, as well as chefs and traditional homemaker influencers. Under the handle @NatashaAzra, she had somehow climbed the ranks to become one of the most viewed and respected tradwife influencers. Her content was simple but authentic—videos of her cooking, tending to her small farm, and even butchering livestock. Her image in the internet were overall, just pure positive, the fact that almost nothing fazed her, a lot of women back on Earth sees her as an icon.
The internet had dubbed her 'The True Tradwife Who Lives on a Farm.'
"Look at this comment," Natasha said, holding up her phone. "Someone is arguing about whether we're poor or not."
Selene and I leaned in to read the thread. As always, discussions sparked about our lifestyle. Because Natasha's kitchen was simple and lacked modern equipment, some people assumed we were living in poverty. Others took it further, saying that I was a terrible husband for having two wives while supposedly being 'poor.'
"It's funny," I mused. "In this world, I'm actually rich. It's just that the world itself is poor."
By earth standard, with what Natasha showed in her videos and pictures, do lacking A LOT, but in this world, it was already more enough. In the Kitchen we have 1 kitchen utensil set and 1 kitchen ware set. And that was more than the people have in this world where mostly the only have a single pot and 1 kitchen knife in their kitchen.
Natasha smiled. "Well, at least they're engaged. Let them argue. I don't really mind it, personally what we have are already a lot... more than anyone in this world ever have…."
Selene sighed, shaking her head. "Humans are so strange sometimes."
Despite the internet's various misconceptions, we were all having fun. Business was thriving, our social media presence was growing, and every day brought something new to talk about. Whether people saw us as real or not didn't matter—we were enjoying the ride, and that was all that counted. The world that we were living in was too depressing, this short pocket of entertainment is the type of positivity we need.
"Babe…".
"Yes, Scarlett?". Scarlett calling to me from the front, all of us, me, Natasha and Selene looked up from our screen.
"I think, it was time for us to find that Doc and Nurse Automaton for you…." Scarlett said so in a straight manner.
"Hmm…".
"I've spoken to Alfred, and according to him, we need to do the realignment procedure as fast as we can… as that would be better for you and your health…we have a safe and secure home right now….and like we plan before…I think it was better for us to do these before we moved out from our current place…what do you think?". Scarlett said carefully, Natasha and Selene were smiling widely, noting that Scarlett are now thinking about my health and well-being, as that was a sign that she had opened her heart for me, and this I just a great progress for her.
"…well, if you say so…. I don't see why not, right…let's go tomorrow then…".
