Episode 84: Raid Plans

Getting back home, all of us settled down quickly. Today had been an exhausting yet fulfilling day. Business had been booming, and while we were all worn out, it was the good kind of exhaustion—the type that left a sense of accomplishment in its wake. After finishing our after-work routine, I took a refreshing shower to wash away the day's fatigue. Once I was done, I joined Alfred and Scarlett in the Control Room. This was where we planned all our major operations, and tonight was no different. We had an important task ahead of us—finding the Doc and Nurse Automaton.

"You haven't started without me, right?". I said as I entered the room, Scarlett was in the room with Alfred at the moment.

"Not yet, Babe…Chup~ we're just setting up stuff…" Scarlett now already started to embraced her role as my third wife, she bravely kissed me on the lips to greet me, which is sweet of her.

"These 2 automatons, looked like a trustworthy bunch." I said as the example image of the 2 targeted automaton appeared on the screen.

These two automatons were highly advanced medical experts, and acquiring them was crucial for one reason: my leg. Everyone in the family agreed that it was time for me to undergo surgery to restore my deformed leg to normal. Natasha had been especially vocal about it, expressing her concern for my well-being.

"With your leg fixed, we won't have to worry as much," she had told me earlier. "It's about time you stop putting yourself at unnecessary risk."

She was right. Even walking was a struggle for me, and running? That was nothing more than a distant dream. In any critical situation, my disability put me at an extreme disadvantage, making me more vulnerable to danger. Fixing my leg would mean not only regaining mobility but also being able to properly defend myself when the situation called for it.

"Madam, Master, this Is the old Map of Jouston City, naturally we had to update them…as surely many changes had taken place…thanks to the apocalypse,". Alfred said.

Alfred, always efficient, accessed the old Jouston City map layouts and projected them onto the screen. The massive digital map illuminated the room, displaying intricate details of the abandoned city. At this time, Selene come in and joined us, Scarlett and Selene, both experienced in navigating the ruins, leaned in to analyze the locations.

Scarlett pointed at a cluster of old medical facilities. "If we're looking for a medical Automaton, these hospitals and research centers are our best bets. But…" she hesitated, glancing at me.

"But what?" I asked, already having a bad feeling.

Selene exhaled sharply. "Jouston City isn't just dangerous—it's practically a death trap. Between the zombies, mutated animals, raiders, and even worse… mutated zombies, going in there is suicide for most people."

Scarlett nodded grimly. "The survival rate of those who venture into Jouston City is barely ten percent. That means ninety percent of people who enter never come back."

I leaned back in my chair, absorbing their words. The odds were grim, but I had already made up my mind. "We don't really have a choice," I said. "I need my leg fixed, and those Automatons are the only ones who can do it."

Alfred, ever the pragmatic one, turns. "If we are to proceed with this mission, we must prepare thoroughly. I can run an analysis of potential routes and estimate the safest path possible."

Scarlett let out a dry chuckle. "Safe? There's no such thing as a safe path through that hellhole. But…" she glanced at me with a determined look, "if we're doing this, we're going in with a plan, heavy firepower, and an exit strategy."

Selene, despite her earlier warning, also looked resolved. "If we can get in and out quickly, our chances of survival increase. The longer we stay inside, the higher the probability of running into something we can't handle."

I nodded, already feeling the weight of the decision on my shoulders. "Then let's start planning. We need every advantage we can get."

Scarlett and Selene worked diligently alongside Alfred, updating the map with all the knowledge they had accumulated from their past experiences in Jouston City. They carefully marked zones infested with zombies, areas overrun by feral mutant animals, and known raider bases. Within minutes, what had once been an old, static map was now covered with detailed markings, warnings, and strategic insights. It was a masterpiece of survival intelligence, giving us a clearer view of what we were up against.

As we scanned the map, Scarlett suddenly tapped her finger on a specific location. "There was a private hospital here," she said thoughtfully. "It was relatively untouched the last time I saw it. People avoid it because it's a zombie nest."

Alfred tactfully enlarged the place where Scarlett had tapped on, the name of the hospital stood out in bold letters—CLUB MED. It was a medium-sized four-story building, with three floors above ground and a basement below.

"That was some brave level naming sense," I said with a chuckled, this is for sure some high roller hospital, to even dare name a hospital a club.

"Nice joke, Sir" Alfred replied, he was the only one that got a hint of my amusement. Whilst my 2 wives just smirked.

"A lot of people steer clear of this place," Scarlett continued. "Not because it's the most dangerous location, but because it's just too much of a hassle to fight through the zombies."

Selene nodded in agreement. "Zombies aren't exactly tough," she said. "The real problem is the resources it takes to fight them. If you get bitten, you're done for, but more than that, it's the sheer amount of bullets you burn through just to clear a place. And bullets are hard to come by."

I leaned forward, absorbing their words. It made sense—zombies were easy to kill, but their strength came in numbers. Their heads were their weakness, but for the average survivor in this world, ammunition was far too precious to waste. That meant most people resorted to melee combat, a dangerous and often deadly choice when dealing with an overwhelming horde.

Scarlett, however, grinned and crossed her arms. "Lucky for us, that kind of difficulty doesn't apply anymore. We have plenty of bullets and firearms. For us, clearing this place should be a piece of cake."

Selene smirked, clearly on the same page. "With our firepower, we don't need to fight them up close. We can take them out from a distance."

I couldn't help but smile as well. "Exactly," I said. "We don't need to wade through a sea of zombies with melee weapons like everyone else. We can just stand at the entrance and shower them with bullets."

Scarlett and Selene exchanged a knowing look before chuckling. It was almost amusing how simple this mission seemed compared to what most people in this world had to deal with. With me, Natasha, Alfred, Selene, Scarlett, and Layla, we had more than enough firepower to wipe out an entire zombie nest without breaking a sweat.

Alfred, ever the tactician, cleared his throat. "Then it's decided. CLUB MED will be our target. I will begin preparing logistics and ensuring we have enough ammunition for the operation. Given our numbers and resources, I estimate we can clear the area with minimal risk."

Natasha, who had been listening quietly, nodded in approval. "Still, let's not be careless. Just because we have the advantage doesn't mean we should underestimate them. We plan our attack carefully, execute efficiently, and get out before anything unexpected happens."

"Agreed," I said. "No unnecessary risks. We go in, clear the hospital, secure the Doc and Nurse Automatons, and get out."

Scarlett grinned. "Now this sounds like my kind of mission."

Selene smirked. "Let's make sure we do it right."

With that, our next destination was set. CLUB MED awaited, and soon, my long-awaited surgery would be within reach. But first, we had to turn a zombie-infested nightmare into nothing more than a pile of corpses. And with our firepower, I had no doubt we would succeed. I should start my shopping spree now.
