Chapter 258: Acquiring Vibranium and Gwen’s Doubts

Inside the Hydra research base, Alan inspected the area and found vibranium covered with a black cloth in the control room. Curious, he walked over and lifted the cover.

"They didn't even take the vibranium with them?"

Alan couldn't understand why Strucker didn't take the vibranium when he left. Based on his knowledge of Hydra, it was impossible for them to leave such a valuable metal behind. There could only be one reason—someone helped him secretly. That person was likely Quicksilver.

"It must have been your brother who left the vibranium behind," Alan said.

Wanda stared at the metal, her expression thoughtful. "If Pietro left this here, then he probably didn't leave with Strucker."

Alan nodded. He knew that Quicksilver would eventually join the X-Men and later sacrifice himself. Deep down, Alan made a mental note to save Pietro before that day came.

After handing the vibranium to the Red Queen, Alan returned home with Wanda. The Red Queen informed him, "It will take a month to fully integrate with the Mind Stone, so I won't be able to assist you during this time."

"That's fine. Focus on the integration," Alan said, waving her off. To him, the Red Queen creating a physical body was the top priority—everything else could wait.

Once the Red Queen disappeared, Wanda naturally took up her role as his assistant. She walked up to Alan and asked, "Master, what would you like to eat tonight?"

Hearing her call him "Master" again, Alan felt awkward and corrected her earnestly, "Stop calling me Master! Besides, the Mind Stone isn't even with me anymore."

Wanda looked at him with a pitiful expression, her soulful eyes reflecting his face.

"But my chaos magic was awakened because of you. And now that I've left Hydra, I don't know where else I could go."

As Wanda spoke, she began walking toward the door. Alan didn't actually want her to leave. The main issue was that both the Ancient One and Hela knew about Wanda staying with Emperor. If anyone discovered his true identity, it would undoubtedly cause trouble.

Alan reluctantly grabbed Wanda's arm. "Alright, you can stay here for now. But listen carefully—no one can know you're living here with me."

Wanda nodded enthusiastically, a bright smile spreading across her face.

Suddenly, there was a loud "bang" from outside the window, as if something had fallen. Alan rushed over to see Gwen climbing to her feet with an awkward smile, waving at him.

---

Earlier, Gwen had been about to visit Alan when she saw him holding Wanda's hand. Her heart skipped a beat, and she lost her footing, falling to the ground.

"What are you doing here?" Alan extended a hand to help her up.

Gwen jumped up and was about to take his hand, but the memory of the earlier scene made her hesitate. Ignoring Alan's hand, she leaped into the room on her own.

---

"Alan, I've recently encountered someone who claims to know my identity," Gwen said.

"What kind of person?" Alan asked, alarmed.

Gwen recounted her meeting with Hela, though she didn't know Hela's true identity. Even Alan, with his extensive Marvel knowledge, couldn't figure out who the person interacting with Gwen might be.

"She only said she knows your identity, right? Did she say anything else?" Alan pressed, hoping for more clues.

But Gwen shook her head—she knew nothing more.

For safety's sake, Alan advised her, "That woman will likely show up again, but we don't know her intentions yet. If she approaches you again, notify me immediately."
