After Alan gave Gwen a few reminders, she was about to leave when Wanda walked out. Gwen immediately asked, "Who is she, Alan?"
"Uh, well…" Alan stammered, unsure how to explain. Could he really reveal Wanda's identity as the Scarlet Witch?
Seeing his reluctance, Gwen didn't press further. She knew Alan was Emperor and undoubtedly had his own secrets.
"Alright then, I'll head back now, Alan," Gwen said as she donned her suit and swung out the window on her webbing. Alan let out a sigh of relief. Thankfully, Gwen hadn't pushed for more answers—explaining Wanda's origins would have been tricky.
The neon lights of New York flashed in the streets below as Gwen patrolled the city, her thoughts elsewhere. Ever since discovering that Wanda was living with Alan, she couldn't find peace.
Normally, her Spider-Sense would warn her of any danger, allowing her to evade it. But this time, it didn't trigger.
A mass of twisted black substance leapt from a distant building and lunged at her. The dark liquid extended countless claws, enveloping her entirely.
Gwen severed her webbing and fell onto a rooftop, but the black liquid surrounded her completely. No matter how hard she struggled, she couldn't break free. The substance slithered over her suit, slowly covering her face. In the final moment before darkness consumed her, she heard a voice whisper in her ear.
"So hungry!"

Inside the Sanctum Sanctorum, Hela approached the Ancient One.
"Can you help me with what I asked for earlier?"
The Ancient One looked troubled but had already agreed to help Hela locate Spider-Woman. She couldn't refuse now.
Raising her hands, the Ancient One sent a red thread of energy out from the Sanctum, guiding it to Gwen, who was perched atop a distant skyscraper. Her gaze was sharp, and her entire suit had turned black.
"I've found her!" the Ancient One announced.
"Excellent! I'll go meet her now!" Hela said excitedly, heading for the doorway. If she could contact Gwen, she might uncover information about Emperor.
But before she could leave, the Ancient One stopped her, visibly uneasy.
"Something seems different about Spider-Woman. I can't explain it, but be careful."
Hela dismissed the warning with a nod and left the Sanctum.

Somewhere in New York, Gwen stared at her hands, feeling an overwhelming surge of power. She didn't know why her suit had turned black, but the newfound confidence was intoxicating. She was no longer the same Gwen she had been before.
Filled with excitement, she leapt from the building and clung to a window, her reflection revealing the black suit.
"This feels amazing," she murmured.
Gwen shot her webs and swung higher into the city. Thoughts of Wanda and Alan suddenly surfaced, and a flicker of jealousy crossed her gaze.
"Who exactly is she, Alan?"
In the shadows, Gwen made her way toward Alan's home, only to be stopped abruptly.
Hela appeared before her, speaking slowly, "Gwen, where are you going?"
Gwen stared at Hela, recalling Alan's warnings. "How do you know my identity?"
Hela noticed Gwen's shift in attitude compared to their last encounter but didn't think too much of it.
"Don't worry, I won't reveal your identity to anyone," Hela assured her.
She took a step forward, intending to explain further, but Gwen suddenly leapt back, glaring at her with a threatening expression.
