Alan approached Quill and shared the clues he had discovered.
After hearing the news, Quill's eyes burned with fury as he gritted his teeth and said, "The Ravagers may have made enemies across the galaxy, but no one has ever dared to challenge us like this. If I find out who did it, I'll personally kill them."
Alan sighed. Revenge was necessary, but he didn't want to see Quill rush into danger because of it. They needed a well-thought-out plan once they identified the attacker.
The two of them continued searching through the countless corpses, looking for Yondu. After several hours, they finally breathed a sigh of relief—they hadn't found Yondu's body, which meant he was still alive.
"Let's head back to the ship first," Alan suggested.
Quill nodded and followed him back to the ship.
By then, the rest of the team had already gathered and were anxiously waiting for their return.
Gamora walked up to Quill with a sympathetic look and said, "We'll all help you."
Drax, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot approached as well, placing their hands on Quill's shoulders. Seeing this, Alan smiled in relief—this was what the Guardians of the Galaxy were all about.
There was no time for celebration, though. Suddenly, a sharp alarm blared from their ship, cutting through the silence of space. Quill quickly moved to the control panel, where an incoming transmission was displayed—someone was trying to communicate with them.
He pressed the communication button, and a frantic voice immediately came through.
"Help! Anyone nearby, please help me! It's Thanos! It's his army—!"
Static filled the speaker, and the distress call was abruptly cut off. The person on the other end was likely already dead.
Everyone on board turned pale. Thanos' forces had launched an attack on the Nine Realms, and in just a few hours, countless lives had already been lost.
Quill wasted no time in activating the ship's engines. If they didn't move now, they could easily become the next target.
"It was Thanos who attacked the Ravagers' ship!" he said grimly.
Gamora shook her head. "No, it was his army. Thanos wouldn't waste his time on this personally."
"Where is Thanos now?" Quill asked.
Gamora thought for a moment. If Thanos intended to invade the Nine Realms, he would need the Infinity Stones. The most crucial one—the Soul Stone—was on Vormir.
"I'm going to stop him," Gamora said as she turned to leave the ship's control room. She intended to take a solo ship to Vormir.
Quill, alarmed, called after her, "Tell me where Thanos is!"
Gamora didn't respond. She couldn't reveal the location of the Soul Stone to anyone. Nebula glanced back at her before silently following.
Their departure left the rest of the crew feeling disheartened. Even the usually optimistic Quill hung his head.
Not wanting to see the team lose morale, Alan stepped forward. He was confident they could defeat Thanos, but it would require everyone's effort.
"Follow me," Alan said. "We're going to Asgard. It's a natural fortress that can withstand Thanos' army."
According to Alan, Asgard's massive structures and grand walls, built by the giants, made it an easily defensible stronghold. Moreover, Hela was there. In Asgard, Hela possessed limitless power, and defeating Thanos' forces would require every advantage they could get.
Quill engaged the ship's engines, and they disappeared into the cosmos, heading straight for Asgard.
