My eyes widen in shock when I see Ace standing in the elevator.

"Alex-" I try to press the close button so that he doesn't enter

But he pushes the door and walks right in

 "Get OUT!" I yell

 "Alexandra please stop. All I want is to talk to you!" he says

My name rolling off his tongue sends shivers down my spine. I try to push my feelings aside and stay tough "I don't want to see you! Get out!" I yell again trying to push him back out

The big metal man doesn't budge

 "Alex, please just stop and hear me out" he pleads again

I give up on the pushing and turn around trying to leave, he immediately grabs my arm and pulls me back to him. I turn and our faces our mere inches apart.

I held my breath and looked into his icy blue eyes which held so much warmth. I stopped fighting this moment and just breathed. Looking into his eyes, I realize he really was back. 

My heart stopped hurting for a moment and felt complete. 

This whole time, I've been too focused on him lying to me but not realizing and appreciating that, Ace Anderson wasn't dead after all. 

The unthinkable had happened, like a miracle, he was alive. I bring my hands up and hold his face, looking into his eyes and him looking into mine. I rub my thumb that was on his cheek and whisper his name witha sad smile.

He brings his face closer and rests his forehead on mine.

We both close our eyes and I take in this moment. His lips brush against mine and I don't stop my hand from finding its way to the back of his head.

"I missed you Ace" I whisper

My breathing starts to get heavy and I stop his lips from brushing against mine by capturing them. I push against his head and he claims my lips. His arms snake around my waist and he pulls me closer, deepening the kiss. All my feelings for him come flooding back.

 All the feelings I had for Liam. Al the pain I went through starts to dissolve and I feel complete. Suddenly, I remembered all the lies and everything started to spin through my head.

I moan into the kiss and pull away pushing on his chest.

"Stop-" I say and turn away 

"Alexandra" he intertwined our fingers but I yank my hand away 

"Im sorry I lied. I never meant to hurt you! Alex, I love you. I've always loved you. Please, listen" he says

I turn to face him "I fell in love too, Ace! I fell in love with Liam! Yet Liam doesn't exist. My whole life for the past year has been a lie. I don't know what to think anymore" I say 

"That is exactly why I did what I did. I knew you would never fall in love with Ace. I had to change! I had to become someone else, in order for you to love me. You don't understand how miserable my life was before

.

You brought meaning to my life, Alex the moment you walked in through the door. I know, I made stupid mistakes and everything got out of hand but please, dont walk out of my life now. Give me a second chance." he says pleadingly looking into my eyes

 "Ace, I can never trust you again. -I need time" I say

He closes his eyes and nods. My heart ached.

"I understand" he says with pain in his voice.

A moment of silence falls upon us. Both of us are busy in our thoughts. A few seconds pass before we finally get caught up in the real world.

"How did you find me?" I ask, curious to know

He looks at me raising one eyebrow, "My security followed you as sOon as you left the mansion" he says

My jaw drops "You had people follow me!? Why thank you for the privacy! And how the hell did you get into the elevator!? You need a house key" I say in shock 

"Sweetheart, I own the company that owns this apartment. Of course I have a key" he says with a smirk "Uh excuse me, last time I checked, I have your last name, therefore, I equally own half of everything you Own" I state walking closer to him 

"Oh really? Why I thought you wanted nothing to do with me Ms. Anderson?" he says in a low voice also walking closer to me 

"Well thanks to you, it's a bit difficult since your face is plastered all over the news!" I yell turning the TV on

More headlines about Ace being 'back from the dead' are all over the news

He lets out a groan "Please turn that off, that's all I've been dealing with this morning. This is another reason I came, we need to talk about this" he says pointing to the tv

 "How the hell did the news get out? Did you tell them or-" he cuts me off

 "You think I would tell the world I was still alive after faking my own death? Of course it wasn't me. After you left, I got worried and contacted my old friends and security to send protection after you. 

Word started getting out quickly since I kept telling them it was me, Ace. Obviously once more than 1 person knows, word gets out. Somehow, it reached the media and they've been camping outside the mansion all morning.

Someone from Dr. Ashley's office got their hands on the medical records and the DNA results and sent it the the press." he says covering his face with his hands in stress

I let out a puff of air "Im sorry" I say

 "You're the last person on this earth that should be apologizing right now. Frankly, I don't give a shit on what people think, if they find out or not. The only thingI was worried about, was your safety and well being." he says

I can't help but feel my body tingle. The fact that I was his priority...

"So what's gonna happen now?" I question 

"Im speaking to the public at noon, a statement confirming the news. But Alex, I need you by my side. Everyone is curious about you, and how you are taking the news.

 They will hunt you down and we can't show them that you are weak. Now that Ace is back, many of my old enemies will be emerging. We need to show the public that we have been reunited and most importantly, my enemies know you are safe under my protection" he says with a serious look 

"I don't need your protection" I scoff.

"Yes you do. It's not easy as you think" he says, with a serious tone 

"No I don't, Ace. I've done fine without you for the past year so what makes you think I need you now?" I respond again 

"Im not asking you Alexandra. I'm telling you. We need to do this. Pretend like everything is fine between us" he says

 "So now you want me to lie to the public!? With you!? Ace I don't even want to be married to you!" I yell

 "I never asked for all of this either Alex, but the media happened! It will strictly be only when we are out in public. 

Until everything gets settled." 

"So what's the exact plan? You tell everyone that you faked your death because you were bored of your old life? People are going to think you're insane" I say, this all seemed ridiculous

 "We're telling people that it was for my own safety. I needed to stay under the radar until everything was sorted out. My intention was never to hurt my friends, family and especially, my wife. 

The speech is something like that." he says trying to remember and summing it up casually

 "Oh so your plan is to just continue lying? Nice. Typical you" I say rolling my eyes 

"Well what am I supposed to do? In certain situations, you simply cannot tell the truth" he says

 "You're unbelievable" I say annoyed and grab my purse, heading to the elevator 

"What are you doing?" Ace questions following me 

"Im going to work, which quite frankly I'm late to so thank you very much" I say 

"Did everything I just say go in through one ear and out the other? Alexandra, you can't go to work by yourself.

The media is camping outside the building. And we need to make a speech at 12pm, so we need to show up together. 

Because we're married, remember?!" he questions

I let out a groan "Ugh, I can never get enough from you!

Fine. But right after the speech, I need to go, I have a few meetings." I say walking into the elevator door

 "Don't worry, me too. Its my first day back" he says with a smirk following me into the elevator

I roll my eyes and press the Lobby button, I grab my phone and go onto the uber app. The little stalker beside me grabs my phone out of my hands 

"Wha- give it back" I yell

 "You're driving with me" he says with no expression in his voice, what so ever

 "Um no I'm not" I respond

 "Again, it wasn't a question" he says

We reach the lobby but before the elevator doors open, he grabs my arm 

"Let go of my arm! Ace, I said let go" I start to yell trying to yank my arm away

He ignores me and pulls me closer

 "Duck your head and walk fast" 

"What?"I question confused as to what he was talking about

The elevator doors open and I'm blinded by the flashing of camera lights. Holding my arm, Ace pulls me through the crazy paparazzi crowd in front of us. When did they get here wtf.

I duck my head, and try to cover my face from the blinding lights. Security try their best to push through the mob and give us space to walk.

A security guard beside Ace starts talking to him

 "Sir they somehow found out of your location and we couldn't get them to leave. The car is waiting for you at the back. Follow me" he says and we try to make our way through the crowd.

Everyone was yelling and shoving microphones into our face asking the stupidest questions "Will you be getting a divorce? Is he a zombie now? Are you still in love? Alexandra do you like his new face?'

We ignore them and manage to get outside and into the back seats of the black SUV. Getting inside felt like a safe haven. I let out a breath 

"F*ck, this is worse than what happened when you died" I say

Right away I shake my head, did I really just say that...

there are so many things that are wrong with that sentence

The driver starts to drive even though photographers were literally slamming their body against the car It was insane.

Both of us out of breath, Ace turns to me

 "This is just the beginning" he says with a smirk
