Three Months Ago...
Sazir stood at his older sister's side, although she had never once treated him as family, let alone a living being.
He was merely a servant of his kingdom.
On the battlefield below the spectator box, a single boy had taken over the entire game, bringing forth a terrible amount of flames.
Sazir hated flames.
Every single time he looked into the heart of a fire, he seen the infernal eyes of his once good friend, that he had grown up along side of.
That friend was dead now, over some foolish contract given to his sister, by The Grand Paladin.
This was the curse of the world they lived in, and the status him and his sister shared.
Once you reach a certain point within this world's hierarchy, you learn of the true evil that happens within everyday life.
They were sent to kill a boy, for the sake of the gods!
Sazir had originally demanded his sister to decline the contract, but their kingdom was in such a poor state that the payment counteracted the true vileness of the act.
"Sister... Who is that boy?"
He asked quietly, gazing down at the battlefield below them.
"You will ask no such questions..."
Sazir clenched his teeth, knowing that his ten star potential could never be a match against his sister's Paladin status.
He wondered if the boy that Blaze had once named him god father over, had somehow survived The Dark Forest.
But there was no way, in fact... Even if the boy had survived Sazir had never gotten to meet his dear friend's son, which pained him quite a lot.
Then a loud explosion echoed throughout the arena, as flames scattered throughout the vivid night sky.
Sazir grabbed his head violently, and doing his best to cover his eyes.
When the flames died out, the sound of a single goal followed.
The game had ended, and been won by a single boy.
A strange thought followed, as the world around him seemed to be far too stunned to even speak.
'Why did The Grand Paladin want the son of Blaze dead... Surely it was not because the king could bear no heirs... Unless...'
Then when he gazed back up, from his kneeling position. His elder sister was gone, and thousands of spectators were fleeing from the arena.
He tugged on the burned skin of his shoulder, as he realized that his sister had entered combat against the players of the aetherball match.
Killing was apart of the sport, so why was his sister so enraged...
Sazir continued to rip at his own scars, unsure of what to do.
As his sister launched a devastating attack over some stupid school sport, he once again questioned his own morality and the people that he surrounded himself with.
Then he felt it... The unimaginable power of Leander.
By the gods, that man was far to strong to be just a mere twelve star Paladin... After all, it was common knowledge among nobles that he inherited one of the eyes of his own father.
And by no means was even the smallest organ of Orion weak.
And one of his all seeing eyes at that...
Sazir found himself fleeing the stadium among several students and aetherball enthusiasts.
There would no doubt be an unavoidable war now...
He wanted to flee into Auroria before the war began, there his father could offer him protection amongst his people.
He was a coward, yes. But he would openly let the child of Blaze take his life when the day came.
It was his destiny after all.
As for better or worst, it would be the day that the Phoenix rises from extinction and takes its place among the powers of the world.
If he was alive that is.
Before Sazir could get to the final gate of the stadium, a hand grabbed him by the shoulder.
The hand was made of stars, and constellations alike. Something no mortal could bear witness to without dying from the impact of a god, but this was not the first time that Sazir had beheld the sight of Eternity.
"You shall not flee my child..."
Sazir growled.
"I am not your child..."
"Then you are my enemy, as all things are. Can your kingdom withhold the strength of an elder god?"
Sazir swallowed, feeling his own will shatter from the very words of the god of time.
"Why can no one else see you? Why I am cursed with the sight of your being!"
Sazir screamed into the night sky, which would have drawn strange looks from countless people, if they had not been in the midst of fleeing for their own lives.
"You will not be the only one, soon enough one will take your place as my servant..."
Sazir turned, as the wind carried the white strands of hair out of his own eyes.
Eternity spoke in his godlike tone, echoing through Sazir's very bones with each syllable.
"The boy lives..."
And that was all, Eternity vanished into starlike particles, that were carried by the vast winds of the northern world.
Sazir fell to his knees, as his hands couldn't help but rip at his own skin violently.
"I am afraid!"
He gasped, as the presence of Eternity was enough to shatter the soul of even the Paladins, and yet the god gave him the honor of living through their meetings, even if there were clear effects of their contact.
Sazir could not even take his own life... For the elder god forbade it...
He was forever trapped in this eternal cycle of life and death, peace and war, and chaos of the mortal world.
He was a sinner among sinners, and yet he had gone unpunished for far too long.
