Not All Battle Is Conversation

Dragon had already moved, instilling a small detail hidden within Talon's cold eyes.

Fear...

Although the monster had not lost his grin, his eyes told of a new story.

Dragon's fist crashed into Talon's jaw like a meteor, crushing him into the snow.

"Where is Danny's body?!"

Dragon screamed in rage.

Lifting his crippled body up from the snow, Talon couldn't help but let out a terrible shriek of laughter.

"You should have seen my methods!"

He yelled at the sky above, shrouded with laughter lacing every bit of his tone.

Dragon frowned in disgust, and although he was in pain, Leander's very request had been to distance himself from Summer for his own good.

And now the secret that Leander had been keeping from him, finally became crystal clear.

He had read from the book of eternity, he had always known how it would play out, and it was for the cost of his own eye.

Talon shot a single chain in Dragon's direction, but Onyx grabbed it out of the air and yanked it down, bringing Talon with it.

Gripping the man's skull by the palm of his hand, Dragon whispered into Talon's ear.

"I have not gotten to go all out in this war yet..."

Then he laughed a terrible laugh, as he felt his energy surge throughout his entire body.

"I'll show you my Trinity Art..."

"Dragon's bane..."

Talon screamed, but it was far too late.

The sight of a god would crush anyone's brain before a single second could even pass.

And that was all Onyx's Trinity Art was, the sight of a god, or at least the sight of a dragon.

Although Onyx was not truly a god, he carried the blood of one proudly, which brought its own perks and cons.

He had lied to Chase when he said he was still searching for his true power, the truth was he had reached a wall, he had reached his potential and stopped at that very limit set on him.

Talon fell backwards into the snow, his body making terrible groaning noises.

His eyes rolled to the back of his head, and then exploded into a terribly gruesome scene.

What made it so much worst, was that the grin on the psycho's face had never ceased, even in such a terrible demise.

Dragon knelt down in the snow, and ripped Danny's head off of the chain that had been welded to it, and set it gently in the snow.

"Disrespectful bastard... Tartarus has a perfect place with your name on it..."

All he could do now was sit, and look out over the chaos that had been instilled on the once kingdom of Frostfang.

Chase's first crusade had brought ruin to an entire powerhouse kingdom.

"Well shit."

Onyx laughed, as he remembered Leander's very words.

"Destiny does indeed doom us all paps!"

"It does indeed..."

Another voice said from behind Dragon.

His blood ran cold, and his pained heart skipped a beat.

"Who are you?"

Dragon asked, knowing better then to look at the face of a mysterious figure with such an unexplainable voice.

"Nobody... Just a messenger."

The voice was young and feminine in a way, so he assumed that he was talking to a young girl...

"You sound far too young to not be affected by the scene of this shattered mountain."

"I wish I were burdened by the human standards..."

"So you are not human?"

"Do not pretend your heart does not ache Onyx of House Dragon, we have all bore witness to your true power now... Brace yourself."

"what is that supposed to mean?"

The girl sat down next to him in the snow, and began drawing with her finger in the snow.

He finally let the urge win, as he glanced at the being at his side.

She had crimson hair, and two horns curling out from her head, she wore a crimson dress, and had her hair braided back.

"You are demon kind?"

She turned toward him, revealing her multi-colored eyes with a frown.

"We are still gods..."

Dragon shrugged.

"What message did Lilith have you send? Because the heir lies unconscious off in the snow."

He pointed at Chase's collapsed figure.

"I am not tasked with meeting the heir yet."

She averted her gaze from the boy.

"Then why are you here?"

"Lilith sits in her final days... She loses power by the hour, and lives with the knowledge of Orion eating away at her mind."

"They met?"

"Why of course, the queen is ancient after all."

"I suppose... What knowledge?"

She sighed, and looked up at the cloudy sky.

"The truth... The reason Orion sealed himself away instead of giving up on humanity..."

Dragon raised an eyebrow, feeling his own blood trickle down his face.

"Hurry up... Your presence is quite litterly killing me as we speak..."

He muttered with a frown.

"Orion had not found potential within humanity... He discovered limits... But with limits comes the inevitability of breaking said limits... He found the limiters within humans... And he knew how to break them."

Dragon's eyes widened, and his heart began to race.

"What is your name...?"

He couldn't help but ask.

"I am Lily... Lily of House Tartarus..."

Dragon's mind recoiled, and his fists clenched.

"You... Share his blood...?"

She snickered.

"No silly, I carry ichor... I am a goddess after all, but sadly I am adopted into the house... Now rest Dragon, although your path sways from the heir of the Underworld, they will once again cross in the future..."

Then Onyx felt his vision go black, as he immediately woke with a start in the darkness of his tavern bedroom.
