With Nior's newly found motivation he stood up and was ready for an adventure but…
How though? Nior had to rack his brain because, technically, he could go on an adventure anytime. He had the money, the time, the strength. But you see, it was really that last one that set him back—because he wasn't just strong enough. He was too strong. To the point that if he even tried to go on an adventure, nothing would pose a challenge at all.
Even that dragon he had just watched Kald and his party struggle against and defeat? He could've taken it out with a snap of his fingers. So how could he possibly go on an adventure that actually felt fulfilling? Just then, Nior remembered something he had long forgotten.
"The Ogre King's journal!" he called out.
Long ago, after defeating the Goblin King and his army, Nior decided to rummage through his castle. And when he did, he found the Goblin King's personal journal. Most goblins weren't proficient in writing at all, so out of curiosity, Nior brought it home to read.
In the journal, he recalled a mention of "erasing power." Back then, he'd thought it was foolish—why would anybody want to do that?—so he tossed the journal aside.
Frantically, Nior began digging through his piles of books and clutter. It took a while, but after hours of searching, he finally found the Ogre King's journal. It was bent, folded, and ripped in all sorts of places, but with a little magic, Nior fixed it up so it was readable again.
He quickly skimmed through the pages until he found the section on erasing power. In it, a single name was mentioned—someone capable of such a thing.
Littis.
Apparently, they lived in deep in the Ainfell Mountains.
Without hesitation, I mean, why even hesitate at this point?, Nior slammed the book shut and teleported over there.
It didn't take him long to sense her magic aura, and before he knew it, he was sitting right in front of her. To his surprise, she looked quite young—but since the Ogre King knew her, she had to be much, much older.
"So, what'd you want?" she asked.
"I want you to take my powers from me."
"Take them? Why would you want that?"
"Well, you see…"
Nior explained the full story, and she gave him slight nods throughout.
"I see," she said. "Well, in that case, why not? But some conditions must be met for me to take your powers from you. You're gonna have to fulfill them, alright?"
"Alright."
"Well, first step is I need a vial of your—"
"Done."
"Already!?" she exclaimed before clearing her throat.
"V-very well, next I'll need—"
"Got it!"
"Huh!? But I didn't even—"
"Well, after that, I'll—"
This continued on until Nior had gathered every single ingredient needed for the procedure. He even provided the payment Littis was yet to ask for, but got the amount spot on. Once he did, Littis placed all of it into a pot, muttered a long chant and clapped once.
A burst of pink smoke came from the pot. Then, she reached into the pot and pulled out… a seed.
"Here," she said.
Nior blinked. "What's this?"
"This is what you asked for. Upon eating this seed, all of your power will vanish…"
