Chapter 6; Turning Tables

Smoke covered the room as an aftermath of the attack. Everyone, including The Cloak, stood in anticipation to see what had happened to the cube.

Light of the dawning sun shone through the hole in the roof and left the smoke looking orange.

The cloud slowly dispersed upwards through the hole. Finally they could see the broken scraps from the cursed object lying on the ground.

"T'is done. Thy did it!" Oliver yells out while holding his hands up.

"No, you did it." Trell says while patting Oliver on the back.

"Yeah, good job dweeb." Reyna says while giving Oliver a thumbs up.

"Hey, why does thou haveth to be a-" BAM!! Before Oliver could finish his thought, a dark boulder hits him directly.

"Well done, I see you're not as weak as I thought. You should have never hurt my art though, we could've continued playing." The Cloak's voice dropped. It sounded like an echoing demon, and extremely angry.

The Cloak began to transform in front of everyone. A huge body, built like a powerhouse of a trainer on steroids, formed from the darkness under it.

Its arms were the size of tree trunks, and pure muscle. Its legs were long and bulky. It wore the cloak like a mask and cowl, but there were dark purple glowing eyes now.

"I didn't know destroying that thing would make it so mad." Oliver says while getting up from the attack. Cough, cough. Oliver coughs up blood.

"Now you choose to speak normally?" Trell asks shocked.

"Dude, I'm bleeding out my stomach. I think I got a pass." Oliver explains to him irritated as he coughs up more blood.

"True, I just thought you would use some terminology while in pain." Trell told him

"He's coughing up blood. We gotta get him out of here." Reyna yells out to Trell in a nervous voice.

"Right." Trell agrees as he throws Oliver's arm over his shoulder. The day turns into night as they all make it outside. They run out of the church and ended up in the backyard. It was larger than a football field, and mostly empty. Nothing was out there but a few white buses.

"Don't run, there's no point. I can find you anywhere in the night." The Cloak bellows towards them. Everyone continued running, until a flying cloak appeared in front of them. It took its form from the shadows once again.

"You can fly as a cloak, like a speeding bullet, and still transform at will? This is going to be more difficult than I thought." Reyna says to the group while sounding irritated.

"That's not all. Once I kill the lot of you, I can rebuild the dark cube again without the stress of heathens breaking it." The Cloak tells them as it begins to laugh.

"Crap, that's not good. That'll mean everything we did was for nothing." Trell tells them.

"Thou must fight. Reinforcements shall arrive." Oliver says while taking a stand on his own two feet.

"What do you mean?" Trell asks confused.

"A message t'was sent to Jace in form of an attack." Oliver explains to them.

"When they get here, Amanda can heal you." Reyna says with a bit of hope.

"We just need to survive." Trell realizes.

" *Coughs* Easier said than done." Oliver says as he spits up more blood.

"I know this is a lot, and you've done enough already. So I'm going to feel selfish for my next request. Let me and Reyna take the lead, and we need you to provide support." Trell asks of Oliver.

"T'is no problem for me." Oliver responds.

"It still confuses me with how much you been switching up your vocabulary." Trell says again.

"Hole, hurt. Be lucky I'm doing this much." Oliver says to him.

"Right, sorry. Reyna you ready?" Trell asks her.

"That was my question." Reyna tells him, while maintaining eye contact with the Cloak, in a stance ready for battle.

"That's the spirit. Let me play a bit in this form." The Cloak says amused.

"Hey overgrown muscle head, let me give you some advice. If you're going to treat us like a game, then you better have some extra life." Reyna yells at The Cloak. She then runs at it, prepared to swing at it with her club.

THOP!! A ball of pure dark energy hits the charging Reyna straight in the face. THUD!! Sending her crashing into the ground.

"Reyna!" Trell yells after her. Dwoosh! The Cloak chops the air and sends out a wave of dark purple energy towards Trell. In a quick instinct, Trell blocks the attack with his sword.

"Hahah, that's not good." The Cloak says laughing. The Cloak's attack was so powerful, it broke Trell's sword while he was blocking. The Cloak sent out another wave of purple energy, and had Trell frozen in fear. BOM

"THOU SHALL NOT PASS!" Before the attack could reach him, Oliver casted a barrier around Trell. Allowing him to leave

"I don't have a sword." Trell mutters to himself and Oliver

"Thy can fix that. Repair!" Oliver yells as he summons another scroll. The magical scroll shot towards Trell's sword like a golden bullet. The sword pieces quickly began to form back whole.

"Thanks. I'm going to finish this with one attack, if you can enhance me." Trell says to Oliver.

"Thy require a brief second of rest. Last effort t'was my all." Oliver tells them weakly.

"You focus on recuperating, and I'll handle that thing." Trell plans out with him.

"I'll help with that." Reyna says as she stands back up.

"Nice, let's do this." Trell says confident.

"YAAHHH!!" Reyna yells as she charges for The Cloak.

"You never learn." The Cloak says as it hold its arms up preparing to cast another spell. Zzap, Trell shot a bolt of electricity at The Cloak's arms to paralyze them. WHOP! Giving Reyna the opportunity to hit The Cloak in its head area with her club.

ZOMP! Trell quickly shot out a beam of lightning the size of a tree at The Cloak. Hitting it hard enough to force it to take a few steps back, but not fall down.

"Nice, I was beginning to think y'all breaking my work was a fluke." The Cloak says to them as smoke steamed off its chest. "But this has taken long enough. I must fix the cube and eliminate you all before the master figures out about all of this."

"You have a master? Who?" Trell yells demanding answers.

"Don't worry about that. Just be a good insect, and get squashed." The Cloak tells them as it creates three more giant dark boulder energy attacks. Each one heading for a target of their own between three.

"Run!" Trell yells out. The spells weren't big this time, but they were faster. Trell, Reyna, and Oliver all ran in separate directions.

Trell runs a few feet before deciding to hold his ground. His eyes began to glow blue from the power of his electricity.

He charges so much energy that his hair begins to stand up. Lightning zip zaps throughout his hair and whole body.

ZOMP! He shoots out a giant beam of lightning from his sword. This attack was so intense, Trell thought he might have a heart attack in the process.

CRACK! THUD! The two attacks collide violently, causing a giant explosion. Knocking Trell on the ground as he looks in awe.

"Thou is persistent." Oliver says while running, then he has an idea. SWISH, Oliver summons a giant scroll to fly on. He hoped it would be enough to shake the homing attack, but it followed him into the sky.

"Return!" Rush! Another scroll intervene in the attack. Oliver hopes to send the spell back to the caster.

Whack! Smash!  At last, The Cloak's attack proved too powerful as it smashed its way through Oliver's scroll.

"Fudge!" Oliver says, really wanting to swear. SMASH! The attack sends Oliver spiraling into the cement.

"Heheh, you're basically done." The Cloak says amused from Oliver's hit.

"Oliver!" Reyna yells to her comrade, while running from her own stalking attack. She comes across a bus in her path, Boing. She swiftly jumps over it and lands gracefully on her feet.

KABOOM! She only takes a few steps before turning to see the attack has hit the bus.

"Are you okay?" Reyna asks, as she takes the opportunity to run towards Oliver. She helped him up to his feet and saw the damage he took. His body was covered with bruises and scratches. Half his shirt was obliterated, and the other half bloody..

"Indeed, thy isn't so easy to beat." Oliver says, struggling to stay in character. The warrior can hardly stand, but he stands his ground.

"Oliver, what happened to your hole?." Trell says while joining Oliver and Reyna.

"Thou's foe is still up yonder. No time to dilly-dally, we must-" SHLUK, Oliver suddenly felt a cold hard pain run through his stomach.

He looked down to see a spike covered in blood piercing his stomach. Oliver tried to move, but felt pressure push up from the inside as he was lifted off the ground. While he stares down at his gruesome fate, he loses consciousness.

"OLIVER!!!" A voice yells from a distance. Reyna and Trell broke their gaze at Oliver to see who was yelling. They were both just staring in terror, so neither of them did. They looked back at the church doors to see the owner of this mystery voice.

It was Jace, and Amanda's with him too. She was definitely worried for Oliver. As Jace stood there staring at his best friend bruised and hanged like a piece of steak on a fork, he was pissed off for him.

"Jace, that magic." Amanda says, staring at the spike piercing Oliver. Even though it was night time, the spike was still dark enough to make out on its own.

Drip, drip, drip. It was almost completely black, with Oliver's red blood dripping off of it being the only color standing out.

"Yeah, it's dark magic. He's probably the same guy to corrupt the fairies, or at least know something about it." Jace says, almost as if reading Amanda's mind.

Amanda immediately switched from worried for Oliver, to angry for the fairies.

"RUN!" Trell yells at them, but they ignore his cries. Jace stands in front of the doors mean mugging The Cloaked beast.

"Hey, are you the one who stabbed my friend?" Jace asks The Cloaked figure. The Cloak stared at Jace, still confused about his arrival.

"Who are you? And so what if I am?" The Cloak asks mockingly. It clearly didn't see Jace as a threat, only another bug.

"For the last time, RUN!" Trell yells out again.

"No. I'm going to avenge Oliver and the fairies." Jace states by yelling. Hahah!! The Cloak laughs out loud as if it heard a joke.

"How are you going to do that?" The Cloak asks after it finished laughing.

"By beating your azz!" Jace yells to answer.

"But why?" The Cloak asks, pretending to be concerned. It was obviously trying to get under Jace's skin, and it was obviously working.

"You just killed my best friend."Jace shouts at it.

"No, I mean why you say azz like that? You talking about the one on the spike? He's not dead." The Cloak asks Jace at first. Then a sinister smile ran across it's face.

Plorkk! Suddenly a second spike pierced the bottom half of Oliver. Woosh! Tossing his mangled body at Jace's feet.

"Now, he's probably dead." The Cloak laughs at them. Jace stared at Oliver's body while clenching his fist.

"Amanda, see what you can do for him." Jace tells her.

"What about you?" Amanda asks.

"I'm about to see if he can laugh after I find a way to light his stupid cloak on fire." Jace says as he starts to crack his knuckles. Walking towards The Cloak and maintaining intense eye contact.

"What? You have fire powers?" The Cloak asks, shocked. It looked like it didn't expect Jace to have any powers.

"No." Jace answers bluntly.

"Oh, hahah. Then how are you going to do anything? Huh?" The Cloak stops laughing out of shock, as Jace was suddenly in The Cloak's face.

It could see Jace's expression of anger clearly before, WHAM! Jace punches The Cloak with the force of a raging bull. Sending The Cloak flying back a few feet.

"I'll get creative." Jace answers after landing the hit.

"Dammit! How did you hit me? I'm made of darkness, nothing that's not light should even be capable of harming me." The Cloak shouts angrily out of confusion.

"I don't know, but it might be my familys' curse." Jace tells The Cloak.

"Hahah, your group is something else. First you destroy my cursed object, and now you're hitting me without light. For the sake of my master, I must kill you all here and now." The Cloak says in a serious and demonic tone. Jace begins to shiver at the thought of The Cloak having a master.

"They destroyed a curse object without light magic? No way, it was believed only light magic can do that. Wait, you got a master? you're strong enough as is." Jace says, slightly intimidated. His voice was close to breaking while talking about it.

"That fear you have is his power. Without even knowing his name, you already feel his influence. His presence is everywhere!" The Cloak begins to gloat about its sensei.

"Jace, he just said they destroyed the cursed object. We should take Oliver and everyone then run." Reyna yells out to Jace. As Jace stared at The Cloak, he swallowed his spit out of nervousness.

"No, he's also the creator. If we leave, he can make another one. We got to beat the boss to make sure everything wasn't in vane. Rest up guys, it's still my turn." Jace tells her as he becomes ready to attack The Cloak again.

"You can't face him. Run Now!" Trell shouts at them.

"Shut Up! He killed Oliver, corrupted the fairies, and caused Amanda alot of pain in response. You can run if you want to, I sure won't blame you. However, I'm going to kick his ass!" Jace yells at Trell.

"You still don't know if I'm a he." The Cloak corrects Jace.

"I still don't care." Jace tells it. He looks around to see Trell, Reyna, and Amanda spectating their fight. All of them looked equally scared after hearing about The Cloak having a master.

"Amanda! What are you doing? Go heal Oliver!" Jace shouts to her. She nodded her head and ran towards Oiver's body.

"What? A white mage too? If she heals that boy with the scrolls, this fight can become more trouble than it's worth. I won't let you. DARK BOULDER!" The Cloak shot a boulder, surrounded by darkness that was dancing like flames, at Amanda.

Woosh! Kabam! Jace appeared in front of the attack, taking the full assault.

"Hey, your opponent is me." Jace tells The Cloak, not hiding his pain.

"Thank you, and he's alive." Amanda says as she crouches next to Oliver's body and checks for a pulse. There was a hole in the middle of his chest on his right leg.

Both holes would allow you to see through Oliver. Amanda puts her hands over him, and a white glow begins to cover Oliver's body.

"He's in critical condition, this might take a minute. Cover us!" Amanda yells at Jace. She placed her hands on Oliver, and a white light covered his body. Except, it wasn't quick to fade like before.

"Copy that." Jace says as he runs towards The Cloak.

"He's crazy. The only reason he thinks we can win is because you're a healer. It's not enough, and no one would blame you for running." Trell says to Amanda while watching Jace fight.

Meanwhile, Amanda wasn't paying him any attention. She was more focused on Oliver and making sure his healing was going smoothly.

"Fools, he doesn't even have a weapon." Trell says, finally accepting their resolve.

"Trell's right, Oliver's the only reason we were able to destroy the thing. We couldn't even do true damage to him." Reyna tells Amanda.

"Ah" THUD! Jace screams as he flies and crashes into the church's wall. "You bastard! You're going to regret that!" Jace yells at the menacing shadow.

"On our way here, Jace made a declaration. He said no one was going to die on this mission. I'm going to make sure he's right. So if you all want to run, then go ahead and find the bus. We're going to stay here and beat this thing." Amanda tells Reyna and Trell. They both stood silent staring at the determined Jace.

"Streams of Kick" Jace yells as he runs at The Cloak. Jace jumps and send rapid flying kicks at the shadowy figure.

Pow! Pow! Bam! Three of the kicks connected with the figure. Krash! Sending it to crash into the concrete ground behind it.

"You call that a super move? Check out mines, Dark Rain!" The Cloak yells once it gets up. Suddenly, darkness that was black enough to stand out at night began to rise from The Cloak's body.

As the night covers the sky, ROOARR!! Thunder clouds sang throughout the sky.

"You bout to make it rain? Hey! Dance for me Amanda!" Jace yells at her. Amanda gives him an eye of annoyance.

"This is no time for jokes you nitwit!" Reyna yells at him out of fury.

"My bad Reyna, you want to dance too? Maybe it'll lift Trell's morale!" Jace says jokingly.

"Jace, above you!" Amanda yells at him. Drip! Drip!

"Huh? Ah!" Jace yells as rain begins to hit him. Except it wasn't regular rain, but the color was darker than Hershey's chocolate. The Cloak begins to cackle and gloat,

"Hahah. This isn't regular rain, it's dark rain you fool. Each drop is dark matter. It's catastrophic and useful for crowd control. You might have a resistance for dark affinity, but your friends don't." The Cloak explains to everyone.

"Oh, is that all? Amanda, you know what to do right?" Jace asks her, confident that she already has an answer.

"Yeah, Trell and Reyna get near me!" Amanda shouts to them. Trell and Reyna hurried up and ran towards Amanda and Oliver.

WOOSH! A barrier of light manifested and surrounded the group. Drip! Drop! Drippity-drop!

"Hey Amanda? What does Jace mean by 'he has a curse'?" Reyna asks curiously. Amanda shrugs her shoulders, unclear of what Jace meant herself.

"He has a curse, he doesn't use a weapon, and he thinks we can win this without anyone dying? He's crazy." Trell says in disbelief while staring at Jace.

"He won't give up, no matter how the odds are stacked against us. I can see why Oliver wanted to stick with him. Jace might be crazy enough to win, and I'm going to help." Reyna says inspired by her thoughts of Jace.

"Great, run through the barrier. The light will cover and protect you as you fight." Amanda explains to her.

"Light? I thought you only had healing powers." Reyna tells her.

"A lot has happened since we've splitten up, but we'll go over it all when it's safe." Amanda explains to her.

"Bet." Reyna says as she begins to run out of the barrier. As she runs past the wall of light to be protected by the same attribute. Trell stands in the shadows of fear, watching Reyna run into the evil rain.

Drip! Drip! Droppity-Drop! Jace stood out in the open parking lot, embracing the toxic rain. His shirt began to tear from each piece of dark matter that hit him.

"It's over! Hahah! I admit you've done well getting this far. Even if you do have a resistance for darkness, it won't stop my dark rain from turning you into a meat puddle." The Cloak says while laughing at Jace.

"My body won't move. Ah!" Jace shouts as he gives into the pain.

"Give up boy! You can't win. You don't even have a weapon." The Cloak gloats to Jace.

"No, but I do! Falling Star's Anger!" A glowing Reyna fell from the sky like a shooting star. She was holding up her club, and it was glowing brighter than a lava lamp.

LAPOW! She hits The Cloak on the head harder than a comet on impact, sending The Cloak crashing into the ground. The dark rain stopped instantly.

"I'm getting tired of your savagery beast." The Cloak says to Reyna in an annoyed voice.

"The feeling is mutual, poop bag." Reyna says to The Cloak.

"I think you mean dirtbag." Jace says, trying to correct her.

"No, poop bag. It reminds me of the baggies people put their pets' feces in." Reyna explains to him.

"Oh, that's actually funny. Let's call him poop bag for now on." Jace responds to Reyna while smiling. Poop bag gets up in a rage.

"No! You can all just call me your executioner! " Poop bag tells them.

"I think poop bag is a better fit." Reyna says.

"Definitely fits him." Jace says.

"You still don't know if I'm a guy." Poop bag bellows at Jace.

"I still don't care." Jace says to him.

"Come on, not the author too." Poop bag cries.

"You ready Reyna?" Jace asks his sister in arms.

"Definitely." Reyna says, smacking her glowing club in her hand, and smiling at The Cloak menacingly.

"That's it! Abyssal Pierce!" Poop bag tells out. SLSSH! A spike stabs through Jace's shoulder.

"Ah!" Jace suddenly yelled out from the pain.

"Bastard! Fight us head on!" Reyna yells out while charging at the Poop bag.

"With pleasure." Poop bag says while stopping Reyna by grabbing her head. It tried squeezing her head hard enough to break like an egg.

POOF! Reyna bursts into a cloud of smoke. Allowing her to escape it's grasp, and appear back next to Jace.

"Ok, we got to be careful. He's really... trying to kill us now." Reyna says while catching her breath.

"Good, it wouldn't be a battle any other way." Jace runs at the Poop bag, and disappears in front of it. Appearing behind it, kicking it in the back, and making the Poop bag fall face first. (Ok, last time we called it a poop bag.)

KABOW! Reyna doesn't waste any time smashing down on The Cloak's head with her club. The impact was so powerful of a hit, a cloak figure was imprinted into the pavement.

"Fuck! You can paint a building with someone's brain hitting like that!" The Cloak yelled out.

"That was kinda the plan." Reyna responded.

"Rude." The Cloak expressed verbally.

"He's right Reyna. We have to fight with honor." Jace tells her.

"How do you suggest we do that?" The Cloak asks sounding intrigued. Jace and Reyna locked eyes. A smile came across both their face, as if they knew what each other was thinking.

"MORTAL COMBAT!!" Both of them scream out of excitement.

"I'm pretty sure we can get sued for that." Amanda yells from the background.

"Nah, we used a C." Jace tells her.

"Is that how the rules work?" Reyna asks.

"I have no clue." Jace admitted. Reyna, Amanda, and Trell all slammed their heads into their palms.

"I hate to interrupt your conversation, but what is this mortal combat?" The Cloak sounded genuinely confused.

"We'll fight you each, one on one. The only rule is no magic allowed." Jace explains to him.

"Yeah, fight to the death." Reyna says smiling with pure joy. After hearing their explanation, The Cloak laughs.

"You'll intend to fight me solo? I know I was complaining, but that was to troll you." The Cloak tells them in between chuckles.

"I'm sure just one of us can beat you now. You've taken heavy damage." Jace tells The Cloak, sounding confident of his hypothesis.

"Oh ok, and who's going to be my first opponent?" The Cloak was now wrapped up in the game of Mortal Combat as well. Sounding eager to do some one on one fighting.

"Me." Reyna opts in while walking up to face The Cloak.

"Hold on, Reyna." Jace says, while laying his arm down in her path to stop her.

"What's the problem?" Reyna asks, her voice frustrated from the halt.

"I want to fight him first. Give me a chance to avenge the people he hurt and effected." Jace tells her, sounding serious all of a sudden.

"Come on, I called dibs first." Reyna complains.

"Yeah, but you already fought him with Trell and Oliver. I want a turn. Plus it was my idea for the mortal combat." Jace explains to her.

"You're really pushing this copyright thing!" Amanda yells out to him while finishing up her healing on Oliver.

"We got more concerning matters at hand darling." Jace responds back to her.

"I don't care, I want to fight it." Reyna cries out like a baby throwing a tantrum.

"Fine, let's let him choose who his first opponent will be." Jace tells her in an attempt to meet in the middle.

"The boy." The Cloak quickly decides.

"What? Come on! I thought we had something special Cloaky." Reyna tells it.

"Don't call me Cloaky, and you'll be next to die. However, this one keeps calling me a he. DISRESPECTING MY PRONOUNS!" The Cloak yells frustrated while staring at Jace. Instead of being intimidated, Jace smiles and laughs.

"Hahah, I knew constantly calling you a him would get under your skin. Don't feel bad though Reyna, Cloaky gives you two out of two with the derogatory nicknames." Jace tells her bragging while stepping up to face The Cloak.

The match is set and ready to start. Scrawny boy Jace walks up to The Cloak, who has a body built like a heavy weight champion on steroids.

"First to kill their opponent wins. No magic, but anything else goes. Are you ready?" Reyna asks, hosting the match.

"Yeah." Jace responds, suddenly dressed like a boxer. He's now wearing blue shorts, no T-shirt, and has boxing gloves on his hands. He then proceeds to put his mouth guard in his mouth.

"Ready." The Cloak responded also dressed for the match. Wearing dark purple shorts over its black Cloak, a giant peccing torso made out of dark magic is revealed, purple boxing gloves, and it put a mouth guard into the abyss of its hood.

"Wait!" Trell suddenly yells after a long time of silence.

"Just because you're scared Trell, doesn't mean we're destined to lose." Jace responds, automatically assuming he knew what Trell was going to say.

"I am scared like hell, but that's not what I was going to say. Where did you get that outfit from?" Trell asks confused on Jace's quick change.

"It's the power of Mortal Combat." Jace yells, as if that explains everything.

"I... Uh..." Trell was dumbfounded by Jace's response.

"Sir please, stay in the crowd. Competitors, touch gloves." Reyna yells to silence Trell and push forward the match. Jace and The Cloak walks up to each other, and gently tap gloves. BEGIN!

Jace made the first move and jumped to reach The Cloak's face. POW! BAM! Connecting two solid jabs to The Cloak's face, they did not phase it. Noticing this, Jace looks at the Cloak frustrated.

WACK! Jace kick The Cloak where its legs should be at, and threw it off balance. As The Cloak was falling face down to the ground, KABOW!

Jace uppercuts it before getting a chance to finish falling, making it fall backwards instead.

"Nice, my turn." The Cloak says while wiping its face as if there was blood.

KNOCK! Cloak swiftly and quickly punched Jace in his guts. Jace coughs up blood as he's speechless about The Cloak's speed and power.

GRAB! The Cloak clenches Jace's face hard enough to pick him up into the air. SMASH! slamming Jace into the pavement.

SWOOSH! The Cloak jumps high into the air as Jace lies in his spot trying to catch his breath.

CRASH! The Cloak falls from the sky and stomps on Jace. As if it was a acrobatics that landed a double flip, and Jace was its mat.

"JACE!" Amanda yells out of concern for her man.

" I knew it was hopeless, it's going to kill him." Trell says as he looks on in horror.

"Crap! I can't help him, moving now would cancel out Oliver's healing." Amanda screams out in despair.

"Mortal Combat tis a one on one match. If anyone t'was to enter and help, thou receiving the assist will be disqualified and executed. T'is the rules of the game." A voice responded to the panicked Amanda.

Amanda looks down and couldn't believe her eyes. It was the first sight of joy since the mission started, Oliver is awake.

"Oliver, you're awake! This the second best thing all day." Amanda yells out in relief.

"Only second? T'is a slap of an insult." Oliver says weakly and offended.

"Sorry, but we did also free some brainwashed fairies and unearthed a dark operation before getting here?" Amanda explained to him in her defense.

"On inclusion of thy's revelation, thou shall agree." Oliver says while resting his head.

"Thank you, but it feels like you stretched it a bit on that one." Amanda laughs while talking to him.

"Wait! You said the fairies were brainwashed?" Trell asks nervously.

"Yeah, there was a sigil of corruption on the building that guy pointed me towards. We found out I had light magic and it can dispel the sigil, freeing the fairies. There's more to it, but we'll all talk later. Together." Amanda explained to them while finishing up Oliver's healing.

"Oh God, sigil of corruption takes some real dark magic. What did this school send us in to? We're toast." Trell whispers to himself out of fear.

"Trell, why tis thou in such a panic?" Oliver asks.

"It's going to kill all of us. We're no match." Trell says terrified of The Cloak.

"Thy tis sad. Actions doth not match that of what thy t'was pretending to be. Thou did swear to defeat a demon, t'is not able to face a faceless foe." Oliver lectures at Trell. Trell didn't have a response. He stood silent, staring at the battle being fought.

"How long has thy been behaving in such a manner?" Oliver asks Amanda, confused from the sight of what he was seeing.

"Ever since that thing pierced your gut." Amanda explains to Oliver.

"Yield, thou can express such a phrase in different style." Oliver tells her. Amanda's smile says she knew exactly how her words sounded.

"Hahah, I know." Amanda says after a mischievous chuckle. Oliver stares at her annoyed for a second, before succumbing to laughter himself. SWOOSH! Jace was sent flying over the laughing duo.

KRASH! Leading to Jace crashing into the ground behind them. Coughing up blood after his rough landing.

"I'm glad y'all are laughing about his mortal wound, while we are having a serious match over here." Jace says in a sarcastic tone.

"Lighten up brother. Thou must learn to laugh at self-suffering. Any other approach tis an invitation for misery." Oliver tells the impatient Jace.

"It's kinda hard to laugh *deep breath* when it's already difficult to breathe." Jace tells them as he catches his breath. Then he heads for The Cloak once again.

BAM! POW! Kadoosh! After The Cloak blocked two of Jace's punches, Jace followed up by kicking The Cloak in it's magical gut. Throwing it off balance for a second.

WHACK! Cloak quickly recovers, and backhand Jace in the face. After he fell to the ground, Cloak walks up and grabs Jace by the face.

WOP! WACK! BAM! The Cloak endlessly punches Jace in the gut while holding him in place by his face. The first strike caused Jace to yell out a muffled scream. The second strike made him stop screaming.

The third strike cause blood to explode out of The Cloak's hand. Then Jace's body stopped moving, and dangled effortlessly in The Cloak's hand.

MWAHAHAH!!! The Cloak let out a sinister laugh, as he showed off Jace's lifeless body. Holding him up high in the air as if he was some sort of trophy.

"JACE!!" Amanda immediately stops healing Oliver, and runs towards The Cloak and Jace. Trell runs up to Amanda to hold her back for her safety.

"Stop, he'll kill you too." Trell says as he holds Amanda by the arms.

"LET ME GO YOU FUCKING COWARD!" Amanda yells as she struggles to get loose. Shocked by the sting of her words, Trell did release her.

"LET HIM GO YOU MONSTER!" Amanda yells as she continues to run towards them. Her voice is loud and furious, but it doesn't phase The Cloak.

"It will be my pleasure." The Cloak says with an unsettling smile. THUD! Proceeding to toss Jace's body down on the ground.

It was unclear if Jace was alive. His bloody face, bruised eyes, and busted tooth proves Jace definitely took a beating. Amanda tried to heal him, but her magic would not work.

Amanda had her arms spread out over Jace's body. A white light surrounds him, but only briefly. In an instance, the aura glowing around Jace began to flicker. As if it was a light bulb running out of life.

"I don't have enough magic to heal him!" Amanda yells out of despair. Her face was showing an expression of pure misery.

"Thy must've relinquish all energy healing me." Oliver says while looking at Jace and Amanda out of disbelief.

The Cloak hears Oliver, and looks at him out of disbelief. Then his gaze fell back to Amanda.

" I thought I killed you. This girl must really be a white mage. Best to take care of you now while you're weak. I can't have you thwarting the boss's plans." It says after realizing Amanda's power. It then holds it hands up at her and Jace's motionless body.

Dark magic begins forming from its palm and takes shape as a giant dark boulder. Amanda stares down the giant magical rock in horror.

"Play ball." SWOOSH! The Cloak says as it shoots the attack. Amanda, refusing to leave Jace behind, is prepared to take on the assault.

"Oliver!" Reyna yells while running towards Amanda and Jace.

"Thou haveth thy back. Deflection Scroll!" SWOOSH! Oliver shot out a golden scroll from his hand. It flew towards Reyna's club with speed that outclassed both Reyna and The Cloak's attack. Reyna manages to get in front of them as,

CRACK!! Reyna smacks the giant stone with her club like a baseball. Thanks to the polymerization with Oliver's scroll, she was able to send it back at The Cloak. SMASH!! Hitting it directly.

"Home run!" Reyna says while smiling at her achievement.

"You insolent green hog. Why must you all be persistent in getting in my way?" The Cloak yells out of frustration as it gets up.

"Hey tall, dark, and ugly! It's my turn to fight. Or are you chicken? Bwaak!" Reyna provokes the menacing figure. She was acting brave, but fear was finally starting to creep on her face.

"You want the same thing he got? Fine. I'll kill you next, then the white mage." The Cloak threatens Reyna.

ZAP!! A bolt of lightning hits it in the back before being able to attack Reyna.

"Now you interfere?" Reyna asks smiling. Her voice was suddenly more calm compared to a second ago.

"He killed Jace. You're not getting what he got, cause we about to jump this fool." Trell says while sounding infuriated.

"Count me in." Amanda says, standing up, and holding a bazooka made out of light.

"Woah, thou can manifest weapons? Color thy impressed." Oliver was admiring the bazooka so much, stars shaped into his eyes.

"You should've fought that thing instead of Jace. Dark magic weakness is light. You probably can finish it off with one missile of light." Trell tells her, also with a face of impression.

"I don't have a lot of magical energy to begin with, but I'll use the last bit to find out." Amanda says while aiming the bazooka at Cloak.
