Chapter 37. It was Nice Talking to You

Kim was still trying to piece together what had just happen. "So I been asleep for six whole days?!?! And Vas you have killed the monster?"

"Yeah, basically what you just said!" Kim looked around the rooms, the sun came beaming toward his eyes, blinding him for a second. Vas Allen asked if he should close the window blinds.

"Please." Kim said as he cover his eyes with his hand, Vas Allen slowly walked to the window and close the blinds, turn back at Kim, he saw Luc Mugen hugging him tightly.

"K-Kim… I miss you, I felt as if you will never wake up!" Kim saw the crying Luc Mugen holding him tightly, tears slobber all over his cloth.

"I'm sorry… I'm sorry for making you worry, all of you." Kim said. Uma Micheal told Kim to stop apologizing and told both Luc Mugen and Vas Allen to act like themselves.

"You guys… you guys promise you wouldn't leave us and that we would have fun…" Uma Micheal slowly walked toward Kim. "Please… please dont apologize, it bring the moods down…"

Kim and the other could hear her voice trembling trying not to cry. Kim got up from his bed and Uma Micheal seeing this was surprised.

"Kim, you haven't fully recovered yet!" Uma Micheal said. Kim shooks his head and smile, "No you're right, I apologize Uma…" Kim face palm himself. Uma Micheal let out a giggle and smile. Seeing this Luc Mugen join in on the fun, as well as Vas Allen.

Grae Jane stand in front of the room door, laughing at the kids who was playing with one another. "Oh, Grae Jane!" Kim said.

"Please, call me Jane!" She said with a smile. On her hand was a plate of cookies, fresh and hot. She walked toward and stumbled across the plate Uma Micheal have drop.

"Oh shoot, I forgot to pick that up!" Uma Micheal said while running toward it, she picks up the plate and apologize.

"Don't be, it's okay!" Uma Micheal exits the room. Grae Jane put down the plate of freshly cook cookies on the cabinet next to the resting bed. "Looks like you're feeling better." Grae Jane said to Kim.

"Yep! And after six days of sleeping, I have loads of energy…" Kim stood there silently, "Wait, I haven't eaten in six days!"

Vas Allen face palm himself, "You're just now realizing that, what am I going to do with you?" Luc Mugen carry the plates of cookies and handed it over to Kim.

"Here Kim! These taste good." Kim grabbed one of the cookies and handed the plate back at Luc Mugen. "Here, let both enjoy it!" Kim said.

Vas Allen watching from afar, walked toward them and said, "Looks like you guys are forgetting about two people." Kim looked at Vas Allen and Uma Micheal who had finally got back.

"Whoops, sorry!" He said, Luc Mugen went up to Vas Allen and Uma Micheal, and give both of them a cookie.

They both thanked Luc Mugen and laugh it off.

"Are you sure we should be going now, shouldn't you rest up a little more?" Vas Allen said with a concern voice.

"Nah, I think I gotten all better!" Kim said with a smile.

Grae Jane slowly walked up to them and told Kim that she agree with Vas Allen, that he should rest up a little.

"I'm sorry but we going to have to decline the offer." Grae Jane looked at Kim with sorrow eyes, "If only I could do more to help you guys, despite you saving my husband, I can't do anything to repay that."

Kim told Grae Jane that it's fine and that she shouldn't worry. "Don't worry about repaying us, we're just happy to help!" Kim said with a smile reassuring Grae Jane.

Vas Allen enter the conversation, "I agree with Kim, we're just happy to help, though I do want Kim to rest up a few more days…"

Kim looked at Vas Allen and laughed a little, "Welp, me resting won't help us locate [The Fortress that lies on the Clouds]."

Grae Jane look at Kim with a surprise after hearing what he just said. "[The Fortress That Lies on the Clouds]," she mutter something to herself before continuing, "The traveler!" She snaps her finger while saying that.

"The traveler told us that she was also looking for that city." Vas Allen asked her if she was sure, Grae Jane replied back with.

"Yeah! I also heard from the traveler herself that she knows where to find it." Vas Allen looked at Kim, he then look back at Grae Jane and ask her, "Do you know where that traveler went?"

Grae Jane nods her head and points at the direction the traveler went. "She's said that she heading to the next town, though I'm not sure if she still in that town since it been days since I saw her leave."

Grae Jane put her left hand on her cheeks, "That's all I know, I'm sorry I could help you guys more and once again thank you for saving my husband!" Vas Allen reassured her that it's okay.

"No no, thank you for telling us about the traveler, it actually help us a lot." Kim shine in, also reassuring Grae Jane, "Agree, without you telling us that, we would've pass the next town unknowingly."

Grae Jane smiled and offered them foods to take along their journey. "Thank you but we're okay!" Vas Allen respectfully rejected her offer, "No no, Please take this, it's the least I can do!" She said.

Vas Allen don't know what to say next, he didn't want to flat out refused it after hearing that. Kim walked toward Grae Jane and said.

"Thank you for the offer, we'll gladly take that." Kim said grabbing the foods that was on Grae Jane hands. Kim tried to looked around to see Luc Mugen and Uma Micheal but he couldn't find them.

"Uhm Vas, where could Luc and Uma go?" Vas Allen shrugged his shoulder while Grae Jane smile.

"Oh those two kids? I saw them upstairs not too long ago, maybe you could check." Kim nodded and ran into the house and upstairs.

Grae Jane looked at Vas Allen with all seriousness, "Should we tell Kim about the stuff he said in his sleep?" Vas Allen stood quiet for a moment before shaking his head.

"No, I would like you to please stay quiet about that, luckily the kids didn't overheard him." Vas Allen said as he scratched the back of his neck. "Kim, why must you… bear the hatred alone?" He thought to himself.

Grae Jane stared at Vas Allen with fridgets, Vas Allen noticed this and asked her what's wrong.

"Uh… I'm sorry to ask but would it be okay to know why you want to look for [The Fortress That Lies on The Cloud], I thought it was a myth?" Vas Allen was shocked for a few second and smile.

"Yeah, so we want to find the city because-"

Kim walks up the stair to the second floor of the house, he looked around but didn't see the kids, he searched the room on the left next to him.

Upon looking inside the room, Kim saw that Grae Jane husband is staring at him. The two locks eyes, it was awkward for a few second until Grae Jane husband spoke, "I heard you guys saved me." He said while softly smiling.

His cheekbones could be seen almost like he haven't eaten in the long time, his body was malnourished, his arms was shaking and his eye bags popped out the most.

"Oh uhh, it wasn't me, it was Vas and the two other kids." Kim said nervously. The man ease up Kim nervousness.

"Don't be nervous," he said with a smile before continuing, "Oh I forgot to introduce myself, I am Simon Grae."

Kim awkwardly waves his hand at him, "Uhh- hello Simon, I'm Kim. Though you probably have heard of my name already." Simon Grae chuckles at Kim remarks.

"Why yes, why wouldn't I know the person that had saved me?" Kim shakes his head, "I'm sorry and I know I said this already, but it was Vas and the kids, I was useless during that time…"

Simon Grae went silent yet his softly smile stays on his face, he turned his head to look out at the window. "Lovely day, ain't it?"

Kim titled his head a little surprised at the sudden question. "Excuse me?" Kim said. Simon Grae pointed out at the window of two birds building their nest.

"Nature is beautiful and you know what makes it even beautiful?" Simone Grae said as he began turning his head back at Kim. "What?" Kim replied.

"It's life's, how living things choose to live or not, how they choose to think and breathe, how they see themselves…" Simon Grae looked toward the floor Kim was standing on, he looks back up and said, "Kim, give yourself more credits, I heard from Vas that you distracted the monster long enough."

Kim shakes his head once again, "I didn't distracted it… rather I was beaten by it, I was weak and the price for that was me almost dying…"

Simon Grae continued to stare at Kim with his soft smile, though Kim thought it was a bit creepy but at the same time, he thought it was cozy and relaxed.

"And guess what? You're still alive right now, and tomorrow and so on." Kim stood there and reflects on what Simon Grae just said.

"How can you be sure that me and you will survive tomorrow?" Kim asks, Simon Grae slowly got up of the bed he was resting on. Kim seeing this, told him to lay back down but he refused.

"Kim, I can't be sure that we will be alive for tomorrow, but imagine everyday, every moment of our life, every second of it. We cherish it, I believe that if we values every second of it, all of us is living in both the present and the future." Simon Grae said as he slowly but gradually walked toward Kim, he stumbled his steps and was also limping.

Kim ran up to him and help him stay on his feet. "You should really lied back down." Kim said, concern for his health. Simon Grae shakes his head,

"Kim, you need to love yourself more, give yourself some credits when credit is due. Because I know this may sound foolish but after I'm done resting, me and my wife is thinking about traveling." Kim was a bit surprise hearing this.

"Traveling?" Kim said. Simon Grae nodded his head, "Yes, we were talking about it for a long time but stuff happen so we never really got to travel."

Kim stares at Simon Grae as he slowly walked back to his resting bed, "That enough exercise for the day." He chuckles a bit before continuing, "But now that we're getting older and the "Night Dreamer" is gone, we felt as we need to live life."

Kim continues to stares at Simon Grae, not knowing what to say. "We're not getting any younger and that's the beauty of it." Kim was starting to reflect on how he sees his life, "Hmmm, what Simon is saying… is right…"

Before Kim asked Simon Grae a question, Simon told Kim that he is going to sleep and rest up a bit. Kim sighed and smile, "Thank you for this conversation." Simon Grae chuckled a little and waved his hand, before Kim exits the room, Simon Grae said,

"Oh, and those two kid? They were outside the whole time but it really was nice talking to you." There Simon Grae slowly lied down and began to sleep, Kim was somewhat shocked, thanks him and went out the room to look out at the hallway window.

Kim saw that Luc Mugen and Uma Micheal were playing with the horse. "Those little rascals!" Kid mutters under his breath. Before he went downstairs and outside, he looked at the door where Simon Grae is resting.

"Yea, it was also nice talking with you too." Kim smile and went downstairs, "Just wait til I get my hands on those two rascals!" Kim said jokingly as he begins walking out of the house.
