John Glenn Quagmire, Major General of the Imperial Republic. He was commanded to defend the City Fortress of the Imperial Capital, the Vatican. Unfortunately, before he was able to mount a proper defense, a series of unfortunate events led to a sweeping enemy victory, with him disgraced and then summarily executed by the enemy forces.

With his last dying breath and battered self, he was filled with grief and regret because of his incompetence and the fact that he failed to save the lives of those under him. Eventually, he drifts into a long slumber in eternal darkness until a guiding light and a saving grace come to him.

At the same time, in the cursed world of Terra, where the dead roam and consume the living, a man belonging to a race that has never existed is put on trial by the world to determine his worth of existence as a foreigner, granted existence. Is he someone who would be washed down in the echoes of death and subpar? Or a person worthy of saving the world itself?
