Ogopogo's Demise

The creature screeched again, causing him and Vix to cover their ears from the disturbing sound, it was disorienting them both, their legs began to wobble.

"How do we kill this!?" Vix shouted of the loud screech, as she tried to catch herself

from completely falling over.

Tel took the lead and ran forward, faster than the two could see, he was by the Ogopogo's side, and had bitten into it, drawing a small amount of blood.

Screeching in pain, the creature hit Tel away with its tail, causing the huge wolf to yelp, and was hit into the tree brush making him disappear.

"If it's like a dragon… we need to expose it's underbelly" he shouted back, remembering the stories his father told him further, hoping it would resemble it's ancestors.

"You distract it, I'll see where it's underbelly is"

Whiskey-Jack aleady on the move, Vix had no choice but to start firing arrows hoping to draw the creatures attention from Whiskey-Jack, who was already making his way into a better position.

Wrapping around the side careful to avoid it's tail, Whiskey-Jack scanned the creatures whole body, searching for a large layer of fat that may be open to attack.

After a few seconds, he caught sight of a piece of hide that didn't seem to be as dense, "There it is!" He pointed, it was difficult to see, as it was under the beasts weight and moving constantly.

"We'll have to get it to turn on its side to kill it" he shouted, hoping that Vix would have a solution.

Distracted from trying to get Vix's attention, he had failed to notice the creature lifting it's tail and swinging it hard at Whiskey-Jack.

"Look out!" Vix shouted, giving Whiskey-Jack a couple of seconds to react. He managed to roll out of direct contact but the tails force had dug deep, blowing up the Earth around its strike.

His body flying back into the forest from the sheer force, with his body bouncing and scraping across the rocky river basin and loose branches.

Tel having finally recovered, made his way to Whiskey-Jack in an instant, "What do we do, I can bite it, however it turns and flicks me away the next moment" Tel complained, knowing his advances would be futile.

Vix could now be seen constantly moving positions trying to create distance between the creature and herself.

"Here's what we do…" he explained his plan to Tel, who nodded his head intently, trying to absorb the information.

Both were up and ready to charge, Tel the faster took the long way around to the creatures left side, with Whiskey-Jack taking its right side.

Vix still firing the arrows, was beginning to run low on arrows, but chose to give them enough distraction to act.

"NOW!" He shouted to Tel, as he charged in from its right side.

Tel ran forward and jumped on the creatures back, biting hard and deep, doing his best to not be bucked off its back.

Shrieking in pain again, it began to twist and turn wildly, trying it's best to shake Tel from it's back. Until, finally turning over as fast as possible, flinging Tel off its back, it had exposed its underbelly.

"Now's my chance" Whisky-Jack thought as he was now only a few feet from reaching it's underbelly.

Seeing the creature begin to turnover once again, Whiskey-Jack slide across the rocky basin on his stomach, placing his sword in both hands to keep it upright.

He could see his health draining from the sharp rocks cutting his body but he wouldn't give up, this might be the groups only chance of taking it down.

Turning over fully, the Ogopogo let of a blood curdling scream, Whiskey-Jack had reached its under belly in time, wedging his sword

between it's weight and the ground. Turning itself over it had unknowingly driven the sword deep into its soft underbelly.

Backing away fast, he regrouped with Tel and Vix, all of them watching the Ogopogo fling itself hoping to get the sword out. Slowly, the flailing stopped and it's body crashed into the river basin, it's eyes becoming lifeless.

"Is it dead" Vix asked, her voice shaky as she refused to move and check on it.

"Trust me…it's dead" his voice hoarse, his lungs still desperately trying to pull in air.
