Chapter 50: Foolproof plan

My room had never felt so claustrophobic. I paced the length of the plush carpet, one hand gripping my phone and the other running through my hair as if I could somehow pull a brilliant idea out of my scalp.

The plan to seduce Sebastian was supposed to be foolproof. Supposed to be. But now, with Carla breathing down my neck about a dinner date I'd completely forgotten to set and the looming Winter Gala hosted by Regulus, I was dangerously close to losing my grip.

"Think, Lyla," I muttered to myself, pausing in front of the mirror. "One week. You have one week to figure this out. No Sebastian, no plan, no…"

I trailed off, sighing heavily. Sebastian had chosen this exact moment to jet off on one of his mysterious trips, leaving me with nothing but radio silence and my own frustration.
