The broken wings.

Collen looked at Ella and yelled " Get away ! Get lost! You'll die. They will kill you. She... she..." , before he could finish his sentence, his mother rushed out of the house, shut his mouth and fed him some medicine which calmed him down and he fell asleep as he reached the house. Ella stared at Collen's mother blankly and she understood and begin explaining that Collen sometimes recalled him being tortured and ofter harmed himself and that she has no choice but to relay on medicinal drugs for the time being. Ella wished to further ask about who Collen was speaking about but she changed the subject. Ella knew something was fishy and that she needed more leads to proceed further. She bid her farewell to Collen's mother the next day and rented a room nearby while spying on Collen's house. Days went by but she found no clues, she finally decided to take her leave but heard Collen's screaming and rushed towards their houses, she was terrified about what she saw through the window. Collen was tied with ropes as his mother was injecting him. Ella called the police and rushed to the door and started ramming the door as it was locked, as she was about to reach out to Collen when the door opened, Collen's mother held a knife in her handsand pointed it towards Ella. Ella maintained her distance as she was trying to calm Collen's mother while making sure that Collen was alright. The sirens rung....
