Chapter 116: Ginza
"Alright, then go ahead and shout."
As Su Mengyao prepared to cheer wildly, Yun Zijin took out noise-canceling earplugs from her bag and put them on, letting Su Mengyao yell as much as she liked.
Su Mengyao blinked. "Am I really that loud?" She hadn't realized how her screaming might affect others. "Everyone's shouting, right?"
"It's fine," Zijin assured. "But you're next to me, so I'm more affected."
"Okay, I'll hold back a bit." Su Mengyao did want to maintain the atmosphere, but she also didn't wish to hurt Zijin's ears. When she felt the urge to scream again, she stood up and moved away slightly. Although her voice remained loud, at least it wasn't right in Zijin's ear.
"It's the third lap!" Su Mengyao exclaimed. "Zijin, Sheng Yang has caught up!" She kept her gaze on Sheng Yang's car, beaming as he overtook the competition in the final stretch. She was so excited she stood up, dragging Zijin along with her. "Look, he's in first place now!"
"Yes, I see," Zijin said calmly. "But don't block the people behind us—someone might complain."
Realizing that the onlookers behind them were glaring, Su Mengyao sat down sheepishly and gave them an apologetic nod. At that point, Sheng Yang's car sped past the finish line, claiming first place. Su Mengyao grabbed Zijin's hand and hurried toward the track's end. "Come on! I want to be the first to congratulate him!"
Zijin let herself be pulled along. The sound of squealing tires faded as they reached the finish line. Sheng Yang climbed out of his car, visibly pleased with his victory. Su Mengyao released Zijin's hand and ran over excitedly. "Brother Sheng Yang, congrats on winning!"
He almost stumbled hearing "Brother Sheng Yang." Turning, he gave her a slight smile. "Why'd you come down from the stands?"
"To celebrate with you, of course!" Su Mengyao's eyes sparkled with genuine joy. "Congrats!"
"Thanks," Sheng Yang said, a bit flustered by her earnest stare. Then he saw Zijin approaching and exhaled with relief. "Sister Yun, how'd I do?"
"Not bad. Since you won, shall we hold a little celebration for you tonight?" Zijin offered. She appreciated how he'd relied on skill rather than a high-end car.
"That's a great idea!" Su Mengyao chimed in readily.
"We want to come too! Don't leave us out," interrupted Li Yuexuan and the others, who had arrived at the finish line as well. It wouldn't make sense to celebrate without everyone.
Zijin laughed. "Sure, let's do it together. I happened to win a little today, so it's on me. Where do you all want to go?"
Li Yuexuan pondered. "Some normal place won't do if we're celebrating," he said. "How about Ginza? I've heard it's got everything on the top floor, but sadly, I don't have a membership card."
The Ginza membership card was infamously hard to obtain—certainly not easy for a crowd known mostly for partying and socializing. "Then how can we get in without a card?" Fu Yang asked.
"Sister Yun, you wouldn't happen to have one, would you?" Li Yuexuan looked at Zijin hopefully.
Zijin shrugged. "No, I don't."
Just then, her phone chimed with the system's usual completion message. She realized Meilin must have transferred the daily spending amount to the foundation.
[Consumption Task: Please spend 3,000,000.00 yuan before midnight tonight. Completed.
Task Reward: Trigger 3 times cash rebate. 9,000,000.00 yuan has been issued to the host's savings card. The host is awarded full ownership of Ginza. Relevant property certificates have been issued to the system backpack. Please check carefully.]
Zijin froze, astonished by the coincidence. As of now, they no longer needed membership cards. "Though I don't have a card," she said, "I think I can take you in."
Sheng Yang and the others exchanged puzzled glances. Still, given Zijin's mysterious abilities, they trusted her words. They reclaimed their racing prizes and followed her out, climbing back into their cars. The road from Fengxing Club to Ginza was just a ten-minute drive.
Zijin led the way in her Shelby. Upon arriving at Ginza's entrance, a valet quickly came to assist, presumably assuming she was a VIP. Inside, however, a staff member asked, "May I see your membership card?" Sheng Yang and his friends all looked to Zijin curiously.
"One moment. Let me make a call," Zijin replied. She dialed the number Suibianhua had provided. The first call was hung up; Zijin frowned and dialed again. This time it connected.
"Hello, this is Wu Jiaxiang, General Manager of Ginza," said a voice.
Zijin spoke clearly, "Manager Wu, I'm Yun Zijin."
There was a pause, as if he was trying to place the name. Then, "You're… the new boss of Ginza, Ms. Yun?"
"Yes, I'm here at the door but can't enter without a membership card," Zijin said.
A beat. "Boss Yun, please wait! I'll be right down!" He ended the call, presumably cursing the guard who hadn't recognized her. Within seconds, he used the intercom to instruct the staff to let Zijin pass, and he hurried out of his office to meet her.
Zijin lowered her phone. The staff guarding the entrance received the message instantly. "Ms. Yun, pardon us! Please come in!" he said, now nervously respectful.
Su Mengyao and the others followed, gawking at this abrupt shift. They had never seen anyone without a membership card being ushered in so courteously by Ginza employees.
