Chapter: 25 The Opposer (Part 4)

They were all dead. All members of _Akādheeb maḥkīyah_ were all gone, disappeared from the face of the earth.

No one knew what just happened, what miracle just bestowed this town, like some sort of god just intervened and saved them all from death.

No one knew; everyone in the town was left confused about what happened. All they could remember was a bright light appearing and all of their enemies dead.

They could feel a pressure coming from the northwest of the town, but the pressure seemingly stopped.

The Maat Sash people, even if they did not know what occurred, all hugged in joy. The women and children reunited and ran back to their husbands.

But even with no explanation, they believed their god had saved them from death.

Maat Sash person 1: "It must have been the god of miracles! He saved us from this! This is the only explanation that makes sense! He finally answered our prayers. The miracle man, the man who shines light across the universe, must have been the one to save us!"

She said this with joy in her voice while tears flooded from her eyes. She finally believed the god of miracles had granted a miracle for them, the god they had been praying to for decades, the god that's in the temple.

Maat Sash person 2: "Yes! I told you our god would answer us! He finally granted us a miracle! Our prayers were finally answered! Thank you, God! For blessing us with this miracle, for taking the lives of those invaders, those who tried to take your sacred book! Thank you!"

The whole town jumped in joy, thanking God. People started to rebuild; they even planned a celebration for the miracle that had just occurred.

Meanwhile, a certain kid knew the truth, of course, because he had seen it beforehand.

Lucas: "But how...? How was that possible?"

Lucas's mind spun, but he didn't want to push the young man further. He could see a furious look on Luther's face. He didn't want any more pressure. He could tell something was off about him. His eyes never glowed, yet he used magic. Something was different from this man than the others who learned the art of dream walking, who walked to the corridors of realities that exist in our soul.

Lucas felt a chill down his back that felt like it hit his soul, but after the shock came a great sense of happiness and joy. He saw Luther like a hero, like he was Superman who just came in and saved the day.

Luther: "Sorry about that. Are you okay?"

Lucas: "Ye-Yeah. Let me take you to the temple."

Luther closed his eyes, smiled at the young boy, and petted his head.

Luther: "You're a good kid, you know. Here, hold my hand. Make sure you don't get lost. After you take me to the temple, I'll take you back to your family."

Lucas nodded his head and took Luther through the town to look for the temple.

While they were walking, Lucas asked Luther a question.

Lucas, holding Luther's hand, asked him this:

Lucas: "Hey, sir, can I ask you a question?"

Luther: "Yeah, what is it?"

Lucas: "Why do you save people?"

Luther: "Why?"

Luther chuckled and smiled back at the kid.

Luther: "It's because it makes me feel good."

Lucas looked back at Luther with a confused expression.

Luther: "You know, before, when I was younger, I didn't care about saving anyone, especially people I didn't know. I thought it was stupid risking your life to save someone, especially somebody you didn't know. But as I grew older, I started helping people more and more. You could see their smiles, their gratitude. The joy in their families' faces. It all felt good. I couldn't help but smile every time. Something in my stomach sprung up; my heart and my soul felt joy and happiness.

Luther: "Even if you aren't strong enough to save people, you could still help people, whether it's giving money to a homeless man, donating to charity, even giving someone a hug or a wave in the morning. You can help people in many ways, even, in extension, save them."

Lucas's eyes glittered. He saw a real-life hero. He was amazed.

Luther: "I have a question for you back. Why ask?"

Lucas: "It's because when I grow up, I want to help people just like how Superman or even you do, Luther. I want to save people! I think saving people is the coolest thing in the world!

Lucas: "That's why I think Superman is the coolest person in the world! And you're the second coolest person in the world!"

Luther couldn't help but chuckle back and smile.

Luther: "Thanks."

They finally arrived at the temple. It was in the shape of a pyramid. It was made out of shining gold. There was water pouring from all sides of the pyramid and a long path of stairs that led to the entrance.

Lucas: "We're here!"

Luther: "It's beautiful."

They walked up the stairs of the pyramid.

And finally, they entered.

It was just as you expected. The inside of the temple was made out of gold. There was a water fountain made out of gold in the middle, with water pouring out of it, and a shrine where people go and pray to their god, with a statue of someone on top of that fountain.

Luther: "Who's on top of that fountain?"

Lucas: "Oh, that's the God of Miracles or God of Light."

Luther: "I see."

Luther wasted no time and did what he came here for.

Luther: "Enchantment 17: Show me the place that contains the principles of truth."

All of a sudden, something was pulled from the ground.

It was the Book of Light!

Lucas: "The Book of Light?!"

Luther: "Don't worry, I'll return it, but I'm going to return it. All I need to do is read the contents of the book."

Luther opened the book and saw the first page blank but signed by seven names.

Luther read them all out:

"Mr. Miracle and Mrs. Shape

Mr. Sin and Mrs. Rhythm

Mr. Drift

Mr. Phantom

Mr. Adapt"

Seven names were signed on that book.

Luther: "Are those code names?"

Luther had a confused look on his face.

Luther: "The first two rows of names are probably lovers."

Luther turned the page and realized there was a table of contents.

Luther couldn't understand it; it seemed to be in an ancient language.

Luther: "Enchantment 1: Show beneath the unknown."

Luther understood the table of contents, but one caught his eye.

"Anomaly Walk to the west"

Luther flipped the page to where this was.

Luther: "What is this?!"

Luther knew the book contained deep secrets; that's why he came here, but he wasn't expecting this.

He saw something that looked like a compass. It had seven squares for north, south, east, and west.

Luther: "This must be the mythological pathway where all humans go and dream walk."

Luther could see north; the pathway was split up into seven different other pathways that all diverged from each other.

Luther then saw south, east, and west, all with X marks on them.

Luther then read the next sentence beside it.

The sentence began with a name, a name Luther had been looking for his whole life.

"Theandros"

Then he began reading out the rest of the text.

"Theandros was the man who reached above the leveling system of the mythological pathway. He was also the first human to ever relearn dream walking since Vigil. He created the mythological pathway by walking north. No one knows how he did it or what he did, but this is just one direction. The entire pathway's true name is 'The Heavenly Pathway.' Yes, Theandros had crossed into the heavens. If any anomaly sees this, walk west. The pathway is empty; there's nothing there to block it. Become ALS for west."

Luther: "This is insanity."

Lucas turned to Luther.

Lucas: "My mom told me stories of how every other pathway is empathy, but humans were not allowed—no, it was forbidden—to ever walk any direction other than north. You're an anomaly, correct? If the book is true, then you can go west."

Luther: "But how? I'm not a dream walker. How is that even possible?"

Lucas: "You don't need to be a dream walker to cross into the heavens. You simply need something that could dream... Yes, a controller."

Luther: "What are you talking about?"

Lucas: "Well, sir, the pathway is empathy. There are no rules to how you could walk a place that's never been found. Think about it like this: imagine you find an unfound empathy land, never touched, never claimed. There are no rules how you could walk and how you should walk that pathway.

Lucas: "Use me as a controller. I have a dream core. Use me to connect to the west of the heavens. Cross into the heavens, Luther!"

Luther: "No way I can do that. Use you

What happens to you then? I promised to return you to your family."

Lucas: "It's fine!"

Luther: "No, I can't."

Lucas: "Please, sir! You can change the world! Think about the world, look around you! I was powerless to change anything."

Lucas cried with tears in his eyes.

Lucas: "You can teach people to be better. You can change the world. You walk into the heavens and guide everyone. You can make a system for dream walkers to understand, help people use their powers for good! You can take it all; it's all right there for you, Luther!"

Luther: "But what about your dream to become a hero like Superman and your family?"

Lucas: "You can help people I never could. I could be an extension of you. Please, let me help cross you into the heavens!"

All of a sudden, pathways made of light would appear. Luther would start understanding everything.

Lucas would be the one to help Luther cross into the heavens.

Luther: "No, wait!"

Lucas: "Please, please, please."

Lucas had tears rolling down his eyes.

Lucas: "Please, never change the way you are! Please save the people from the evils that control the world! Make a difference! Make a change! You can do it, Luther! You're strong, you're a hero. You don't need a cape! Cross into the heavens! Even if you can't dream, you can still imagine, can't you? Even if you can't dream, help others understand theirs!"

All of a sudden, a text message would appear in front of Luther.

"Lucas has confirmed to be a Controller. Would you like to cross over to the heavens?"

Luther had tears down his eyes, flooding uncontrollably.

Luther: "Yes."

Lucas's body turned into light. It would flip front up with a bubble of light covering the body.

The pathway made of light would flip.

Luther: "Take me west! Take me into the heavens! I shall bestow death on those who do not plead guilty! I shall cross into the heavens and rule the world as a man who can't dream! I shall destroy those who shatter the dreams of others! I shall kill the devils of these worlds and sit above it all!"

And...

And...

And...

No one knew what happened after that, what it looked like beyond the system. No one would understand what it even looked like achieving such power. It was never written in his diary.

Little did anyone know...

Luther, in 4 years, 6 days, 19 hours...

1840 September 7th, 11:59 pm...

The 5th rejection would start...

And...

And...

And...

Luther Carlos would take over the entire world.
