Chapter 34

"That will be five dollars thirty cents."

'Huh? I'm working already?'

I blinked, disoriented, as I looked around. Sure enough, I was back at the convenience store again.

'Am I really that sleep deprived that I can't even remember how I got here?'

However, something felt off. Customers kept coming in, a never-ending line of impatient faces waiting for their items to be check out. Whenever I would scan the last person's items, another set of customers would barge in, pick items and stand in line.

I shook off the eerie vibe creeping up my spine and continued scanning their items, bagging them, and handing out change. Yet, no matter how many customers I served, the line seemed to stretch endlessly.

Growing more annoyed, I lifted my head, ready to assess the situation, however I shouldn't have done that since I saw a face so familiar that my mind went blank.

Aiden.
