JODY
The castle was quiet.
When I saw the first guard on my way out the front door, I worried he’d stop me and tell me to go back to my bedroom. But it seems I was very wrong. The guard just nodded my way and kept walking.
Wow, Aurora was right. They wouldn’t stop me from leaving if I wanted to.
But why?
Because it defeated the purpose of my kidnapping.
A stone walkway led into the dimly lit gardens. Large rose bushes in colors I’d never seen adorned the path. The wind swirled around me, bringing the lovely scent of flowers to my nose.
This place was so pretty. Peaceful. The best place to be if I wasnʼt giving it too much credit. And if I’d come under different circumstances, I’d love the castle.
The atmosphere took an electric feel as I got farther down the path. I got to a spot where it split. A statue family with a baby pointed down one path, and a weeping angel down the other.
