Chapter 32

Rachel POV

"Do you need me to talk to him?" Olufemi asked, his voice low beside me. But my attention was fixated on Aderemi, standing outside the gate with an intensity that made my heart skip a beat. The turmoil within me dissipated at the sight of him, replaced by a desire to decipher the emotions hidden behind his stoic expression. I yearned to read a thousand meanings into his gaze, but it remained inscrutable. Suddenly, a hand grasped my arm, jolting me out of my reverie. I turned to face Olufemi, my eyes narrowing slightly at the interruption.

"I can talk to him if it'll make you feel better," Olufemi offered, his expression neutral, but his tone betraying a hint of concern. However, I didn't need a rescuer. I'd rather confront the situation head-on than create unnecessary speculation.
