Chapter 52

Rachel POV

The dimly lit conference room was a different thing entirely from the grand room where we exchanged vows. Gone were the beaming families and friends who had witnessed our supposed profession of love; now, the only witnesses to the dissolution of our union were the lawyer, Mr. Richard - the same man who had presented me with the prenuptial agreement months ago - and the cold, unforgiving walls that seemed to close in around us, their impersonal silence a harsh reminder of our failed union.
