The Power of M (2)

Activating my Power of Mergence, I picked up the domestic cleaning tool and placed it on the restoration energy repair tool. The cleaning tool melted as the restoration tool. They both flowed into each other like liquid metal, or like honey mixing up with maple syrup and when the merging completed they took on the form of solid, golden energy which I picked up.

I took the screen cleaner and placed it on top of the formless energy and it too melted, converted to energy form and increased the side of the energy in my hand.

Three power restoration tools, one literally housing an energy of restoration. This was perfect. I walked up to the first satellite and dumped the energy into it.

It started like magic, the body of the satellite began to ripple and morph. A bright golden light exploded from it and when it dimmed, before us was a brown new Matrix satellite.

One done, nine more to go. After that, VIS would help me reprogram the system, make the AI in it loyal to me and change its service capacity from an entire species to a single person—me. Then its range of operation would be changed from a specific planet (Vargannas) to varied spaces (Any space I’m in). Meaning I’d be able to take it to Earth with me, but before then I’d have to make it portable.

Once I was done restoring all the satellites, VIS reprogrammed the system and asked me to ‘establish a new qualification of address for the Artificial Intelligence and the previous qualification of address does not fit its new directives’.

It took me a while to figure out that they wanted me to give the AI a new name. I did as I was asked and named it M. It was in honor of Mindy, my best friend and the most important person to me, and also in honor of the Matrix.

The next thing I did after that was merge each of the satellites with an energy mix made up of my blood, some chains, a dock tape, and wireless internet connection device. This energy mix signified connection, specifically connection to me and I used it to bind M and its system to me.

Now, for making it portable and making sure it would always be there with me and can never be taken away from me. I used an energy mixture made from weight loss pills and other size reduction items to make the satellites as small as my pinky.

To be bound to me meant they would always be with me. They tested this by taking me to another room but the satellite just seemed to be able to follow me without any sign of moving. They just…exist wherever I am.

But even with that I wanted them to be more secure, so I needed to do something about that, but before then I had to increase the range of M to be universal.

VIS helped me with this by providing me with several decommissioned subspace devices and quantum communicators to renew and make an energy mix of. According to him, quantum communicators use quantum entanglement and regardless of distance, entangled particles can affect each other simultaneously.

Meaning once I merged the universal range energy mix with the satellites, their range would truly become universal. I'd be able to teleport to anywhere in the universe M had coordinates of. Summon anything she knew the location of.

This was amazing.

Now, to fully secure the satellite network. I merged them with a subspace energy mix made up of photons, gravitons, some Varganna virtual constructs, and a few other things existing outside space and time.

With this I placed my personal Matrix outside space and time. Inaccessible to anyone and invisible to everyone… everyone but me.

Everyone claimed to not be able to see them, but I could still see the ten mini futuristic satellites, always with me, always around me. I chalked it up to the bond energy mix really creating a strong bond with us.

With me finally getting my own person Matrix and spending a few days exploring Varganna, it was time to return to Earth and face hurricane Mindy.

I returned the chest band to the Administration of Technology but they told me to keep it, it was forever mine. It would be useless though outside of Varganna but that was what I had M for, and I didn’t need a chest band to access M, our bond was good enough and even far better. She could not only read my mind, but interpret my instincts and emotions.

Using my memories to generate proper spatial quantum oriented coordinates she promised me that she could teleport me back to my condo in New York, and assured me that it wouldn’t even be the New York of an alternate reality.

I appreciated the humor.

I stood with Blin as I was to leave. They, too, would be leaving soon. They needed to continue their work as a Bastion of the universe. I too can now do my part as I now had a way of traveling the universe.

Ultimate and Apocalypse were long gone. They left days ago, the day after the invasion in fact.

I looked at Blin and stretched my hand for a handshake with them. “You guys keep an eye out. The Covians don’t seem like quitters to me.”

The Vargannas had decided to take no action against the Covians. In the wider universe, any civilization or species that caused violence outside of their slice of space would be punished by the Bastions.

But not until said violence began, as it was against the principles of the Bastions to punish someone before they commit the crime. It was why Apocalypse and Ultimate had allowed the Covians to fire upon Varganna before they took action.

Varganna could not even seek revenge by attacking the Covians after the invasion or risk incurring the wrath of the Bastions.

The Bastions had promised to take care of the Covians themselves. How they planned to do that, I had no idea.

They took my hand and shook it. “You too, be safe, and don’t forget to visit Aeonite.”

Aeonite was the dimension of the Aeons and it served like a sort of HQ for the order of Bastions. It’s where my paradoxical ultra temporal training had taken place.

I nodded in agreement and farewell then reached out to the two AIs in my mind.

‘See you upon my return VIS. Take us home M.’

My world went white and space embraced me in an explosion of colors as I was taken away from Varganna.
