Chapter 39

Our weapons clashed, creating a powerful impact that produced a shockwave. As we exchanged blows to one another in close combat, I unleashed a powerful blast of magic as well right to her face. But Nashia is not an idiot as I expected as she already put up a magic barrier that shielded her from my magic.

I imbued my sword with this newly found mana that I had created and slashed her shield like a piece of cake. Her shield was dispelled, catching Nashia by surprise as she watched her powerful shield break down like it was a piece of paper.

"Impossible! That was-"

"Silence." I cut her sentence off by following up with a front kick that kicked her away so hard to the wall that it made the tower tremble with great intensity. Nashia coughed out blood and before she could heal herself, I appeared in front of her and swung my sword nonstop, cutting her limbs off and leaving deep cuts that soon became infected because her healing magic wouldn't work.

Whatever kind of power I had, surely was more powerful than her demonic mana.

Nashia screamed as loud as she could, summoning a huge horde of demons on the way. I dashed against the horde of demons and swung my blade while unleashing a powerful blast of magic in every direction. When they were about to surround me, I roared and unleashed a strong magic force that pushed away the army of demons from me, killing those who were weak due to the heavy and intense pressure that I emitted while those who were strong were just pushed away.

Nashia recovered finally and she charged straight at me while her claws were ready to be swung. As she got near me, our weapons clashed again. As metal made impact to another metal, sparks of electricity became visible while the air echoed the metallic sound caressing another metal. While we clashed, we moved from one spot to another, killing the demons that were getting in our way as well. I only wanted her head and I wouldn't let anyone dare to get it before me.

Nashia was smiling. But despite her smile, I could feel her anxiety inside. Her heart was beating faster than usual and her palms were dropping cold sweat that immediately was vaporized due to the intense heat our magic was emitting.

I could see every movement she was about to take. Every muscle that she was using. I could see the before images of her movements. As I watched everything that Nashia tried to maneuver, time passed by slowly for me which made it easier for me to dodge Nashia's attacks.

Nashia swung her claws in an uppercut, but because her attack was too wide, hundreds of open spots that I could go for appeared without her realizing it. A simple side step was enough to dodge her wide uppercut. She then followed by a horizontal cut using her other free claw. Again, she was using wide movements. I simply just moved forward, our nose an inch or two to each other while I used my hand to halt her swing and used my leg to kick her way.

Nashia rolled on the ground and I dashed straight at her again before she could recover. This time, I used my martial arts to unleash a barrage of combos while my whole body was being imbued by my mana. What was supposed to be a simple jab became deadly for her due to the high density of my magic that was imbuing my whole arms.

Nashia tried to scream again, but before she could scream, I punched her throat, destroying it so she could never emit anymore words.

I raised my hand with an open palm on the ceiling and a huge door appeared. I closed my hand, clenching it into a fist while the door slowly opens outward, unleashing a powerful killing intent and magic that was combined with a loud roar that made the demons flinch.

"Come out and hear my call, Four Spirit Kings, and destroy everything you see." The Four Spirit Kings came out and caused havoc around the tower. The tower trembled as the Four Spirit Kings unleashed their fury and powers against the horde of demons that tried to charge at them

Of course, Nashia finally recovered. I heard her evil laugh and as I glanced at her, she was gone in front of me.

She thought that I couldn't see her? She was wrong. I could see the strings of her movements and hear her heartbeat. She just simply ran at my blind spot and went behind me.

I smiled. I glanced over my shoulder while my glowing eyes glared at Nashia, who in turn flinched for a little and resumed her evil smirk.

"So what if you sensed me? It is too late now, you fool!" She roared. "This is the end!"

A black, rusty sword appeared in the air behind her, triggering the memory of Vivian's death. I remembered her words clearly, but before I could dodge, it was too late. I got distracted at the memory of Vivian dying in my arms. Tears fell from my eyes, dripping to my cheeks until they fell on the floor. But the droplets became vaporized due to the heat from magic.

Nashia laughed as if she had won. However, as the Soul Destroying Sword pierced me, something inside me moved. A Holy Mana appeared from my core and used itself as a shield to protect my soul from the blade. The Holy Mana was warm. It reminded me of Vivian.

"Ah." That was the only word I could mutter. In the end, you were still protecting me, aunt. "Thank you."

The Holy Mana dispersed the blade, making Nashia's eyes go wide. "H-how?" She asked, her voice trembling.

I slowly approached Nashia, glaring at her while she took a step back from me.

"I'll tell you how. It'll be painful though, so I hope you prepare your soul, auntie."
