We continued our clash, generating a spark of electricity as our weapons made impact. While the tower was shaking with great intensity due to the Four Spirit Kings running wild, every strike we threw at each other missed our target, hitting either the air or the ground instead. From up close, Nashia flapped her wings, creating a strong surge of wind. However, I formed a magic barrier which protected me from the blast of wind.
"What the heck are you?" Nashia asked, her voice was filled with anxiety. I could hear her heart beating faster, her breathing ragged, and lastly, her muscles hesitating to make a move.
"Someone's daughter whose mother you've killed." I said in a low voice.
I unleashed a powerful blast of magic from up close. The magic turned into a flame as it made an impact with her wings. Soon, the wings burned with gray fire and the air smelled like a chicken was being roasted. Nashia rolled on the ground to make the flames disappear, yet they only grew stronger and more hotter.
"I told you, didn't I? That you should've been prepared." I hissed, slowly approaching the helpless girl that was crying already. I could hear her beg for mercy, yet I chose to ignore it. "This is for my mother."
A magic sword appeared on my hand and I swung it at her neck to cut it off. However, Nashia roared and breathed a crimson fire right in front of my face that pushed me back. The flames weren't that hot like mine, but it was enough for Nashia to run away from me. However, before she could even fly, one of the magic attacks from the Four Spirit Kings hit her, causing her to plummet on the floor.
I chuckled as I watched her struggle to get out alive.
"You… Stay away from me!" Nashia screamed while dragging herself away from me. She left a trail of blood which I just stepped on. "You… monster!" She grabbed a rock and threw it at me, but the throw was weak so I just let it hit me.
"Me? A monster?" I laughed like a maniac. I truly laughed. My laugh was so sincere and real that it also scared me as well just by listening to it.
I lost it to this woman.
"Listen here you son of a bitch." I grabbed her ankle and pulled her at me. Then I grabbed her hair so hard that she screeched in pain. "You were the ones who killed my mother. MY MOTHER. You destroyed my kingdom. MY KINGDOM. You took the lives of the innocent people that I love. MY PEOPLE. And yet you call me a monster?" I smashed her head on the ground a few times until her face was covered in blood. "You, Alexis, and Cecilia… I understand Vivian's reason and her side, but you three… I'll make sure that the three of you meet and burn for eternity."
I threw Nashia on the wall and her back made an impact against the hard stone. She coughed out blood and vomited, yet my foot kicked her head and her brain trembled inside her skull, causing her to have a concussion.
"You destroyed everything from me." Were the only words I managed to say. A magic sword appeared again on my hand and I lunged at her heart. The blade pierced through her, causing her to vomit more blood. She grabbed hold of my wrist, but soon her life faded away.
Her heart had stopped beating.
As I was about to walk away from the corpse, her body glowed in dark red. Her corpse started to float from the ground. A pillar of crimson flames engulfed Nashia, causing a powerful earthquake that destroyed the tower in half, revealing a dark cosmetic world that was between the Demon Realm and Heavenly Realm.
The pillar of flames dispersed in the air and standing before me was a demon creature. Nashia's skin turned black. Her eyes turned yellow with a red slit in the center. Her claws were longer and sharper than before, as well as her feet. On her forehead, a black long horns appeared and a set of broken, black wings flapped behind her.
The Demon Nashia smiled at me, revealing her sharp fangs that were drooling with her saliva. "I'll kill you, little girl." She growled.
Nashia suddenly disappeared just to reappear behind me in a blink of an eye. Her claws lunged deep into my flesh, causing me to cough out blood. She lifted me up while her claws were still in me. Then, a burst of red flames exploded from her claws, burning me from within and my body.
My whole body was burning in pain. My insides felt like they were being cooked slowly. I screamed to the top of my lungs, yet no sounds came out because my lungs were cooked. In the corner of my eyes, another claws pierced me to my sides, almost touching my heart. She kicked me away while I stumbled on the ground looking for support. I couldn't heal because of the flames. Everytime I use magic, my magic keeps being consumed by this fire, joining them instead of healing me.
As I struggled to kill the flames, Nashia was about to pierce me again, this time her intention was my heart, when a blurry figure appeared between us and pushed Nashia away from my burning body. The figure used dark magic to devour the flames and it also healed me at the same time.
"What is this? I thought you already finished your vengeance, little Ashe." Serpentine said in her human form. I have lots of questions, but those could wait until later. I was able to recognize her thanks to her magic.
"Serpentine…" I struggled to speak because my lungs were still broken.
"Rest easy, little Ashe. I'll handle things from here. Your journey is my journey as well, Ashe. Just like mine." She smiled.
Nashia laughed, causing her to get our attention. "Another insect has appeared before me. Very well, I'll send you two off to the afterlife!"
