Chapter 42

We both clashed once more in the air. As our weapons made a screeching noise that echoed throughout the air, a huge sparks of electricity appeared, showering the space with golden electricity that faded after dropping for a few meters. With no more platform to stand, our wings flapped to keep us hovering in the air while simultaneously exchanging blows and flying from one space to another.

Demon Nashia opened her mouth wide and blasted a crimson fire, hitting me straight since I was so close at her. However, the Void armor (hence the name I gave it because why not) sucked all the demonic mana that made the fire disappear. The consumed mana became my own, powering me even more.

"What the fuck?" Demon Nashia took a flight back, distancing herself as she tried to assess what she just witnessed. But I moved swiftly, arriving in front of her in a blink of an eye. She tried swinging her claws again, but my hands were fast. I grabbed her wrists and pulled her close to me. My knees hit her face, breaking her nose. I pushed her back and pulled her again to me, doing the same maneuver over and over again until her face became bloody.

I kicked her on her stomach. Before she could recover from the concussion I made, I released a powerful magic trick. The gray mana exploded, but instead of burning her like before, the attack damaged her mana core instead. It was an attack I came up with just a few seconds ago.

You can call it luck or genius. But after witnessing and experiencing her Soul Destroying Sword, it gave me a revelation that mana could be used to attack inside. And I was right. I could see her core slowly having cracks around them, but Demon Nashia's mana was so enormous that the moment a crack appeared, it would instantly heal it.

Before she could completely recover, I dashed straight at her. I swung my sword at Demon Nashia, but instead of leaving cuts to her body, I focused on attacking her mana core. For mages, a mana core is like a heart for us. If the core gets broken, we die as a mage, only to be left powerless against our enemies.

Demon Nashia's mana core tried to heal itself, but because the cracks were too large, her mana was overflowing out of it, leaving her core and seeping in mine. Soon, she became tired. Her core was almost broken and it was almost empty as well. With little magic left, her fatigue overshadowed her.

She looked at me with deep hatred behind her eyes. "I'm not yet done." She said. Due to her fatigue, she was struggling to even form a sentence.

I just smiled at her. "Oh? You are done." Then I sliced her neck from her body, leaving her headless corpse to fall down to the abyss. To become one with the realm for eternity.

"It's over." I said loudly to myself.

Or so I thought.

A flash of light shined brightly in a few seconds. From below, her headless corpse floated. Demonic mana covered her corpse while releasing a powerful force of killing intent that gave me chills. Despite having no head, I heard her roar while she released a powerful amount of magic that pushed me away.

The demonic mana disappeared in the air, but was now inside Nashia.

Her body completely became a demon. Her flesh was red with spikes visible everywhere her body. She now had two sets of broken black wings with demonic eyes appearing on them. Her claws became sharp. Meanwhile, her stomach had a maw that bared its sharp and long fangs and red eyes which replaced her breast that was staring at me with burning hatred.

"I will kill you until nothing is left of you!" Her voice sounded like a scream. I went into a defensive stance, preparing myself for whatever worse was about to come.

She charged straight at me and we both exchanged blows. However, I was being pushed way far back. Each of her strikes have a tremendous and powerful power behind them. Due to how powerful they were, the more I blocked it, the more I felt like I was having a concussion. The impact was so strong that it was making my head spin crazily.

I gritted my teeth. As she was about to swing her claws in a 180 degrees arc aimed at my neck, I ducked down and lunged myself at her. Her maw opened wide and tried to bite me, but I released a magic blast inside of its maw, pushing her away from me. The face vomited blood and I could see some of her fangs were broken due to the magic I blasted. Alas, it even angered her more.

She charged at me once more with great speed. Even though I was fully prepared, I was left shocked and my guard down because of how powerful her attacks even became. But I understood it now. The angrier she gets, the more powerful she becomes. I focused on the strings of her movements and the before image of her attacks. Everything was slow already, yet they were still too fast for me to barely dodge.

As I watched closely, an opening appeared. Even though it was just a slight opening, I took my chance and went through it. As I swung my sword on her side, I left my defenses open. But it was a battle of speed. Whoever was the fastest, wins.

Alas, I won barely by a strand of hair. My blade hit her ribs, yet it wasn't able to cut through it because the skin was tough. However, I was able to push her away from me, making her attack miss my face by an inch.

I sighed, surprised by how close I was to dying.

'Damn it.' I thought to myself. 'I need more power. Enough power to defeat her.'

I stared at the rampaging Four Spirit Kings. Nashia charged at me, but I quickly blocked her attack and shoved her away. I flew up, heading straight to the Four Spirit Kings.

"Running away? I don't think so!" Nashia chased after me. Through telepathy, I gave them orders to focus on attacking Nashia who was behind me. They obeyed and attacked her, causing Nashia to a halt so she could dodge the fury of attacks.

I reached the Four Spirit Kings. Using my mana, I devoured the Four Spirit Kings until their magic became mine. A huge wave of power flowed inside me to the point that I could no longer contain it. I stretched out my hands and released the remaining magic that I could not contain in the space.

Soon, a huge sea of gray mana covered the entire space between the two realms. The gray turned into pure darkness, making it look like a void.

The same void that I went into after being pushed by my mother before her death.

The same void where I first met Serpentine after getting killed by the Black Dragon.

Because it was my magic, I could freely control everything in this darkness of space. It was so dark that the longer you stare at it, it felt like the darkness was staring back at you as well.

"What is this? What have you done?" Nashia asked, panicking as she felt my mana everywhere in the space.

A smile appeared on my face as I had come up with the name of this newly formed space. "Welcome to Void Realm." I said.
