Bad Person

The principal was surprised and even Kate that was usually indifferent was slightly stunned, Jayden had asked for a bold thing. He didn't ask to skip one class, he was literally asking to skip school whenever he pleased.

"Um... Why would you want that? What they teach is useful to you," the principal asked

"I have to train, that's what matters. I can't sit in a classroom all day, learning the theoretical aspect when i can go out to the forest and get better experience," Jayden replied calmly

Kate was at first annoyed, she wondered how a student could say and ask such a thing, it was like saying school was pointless and they were wasting their time... Actually that's what he meant. But Kate could understand, she hated being told what to do as well and loved to do what pleased her

"Hmm, you do have a good point there boy, but, we also have an intense training experience here as well. There are martial arts classes, weapon training and even combat sessions between the students," the principal muttered

But Jayden was adamant, he shook his head in disapproval. "I already know a lot about martial arts, and i don't like the concept of using weapons, it makes one too dependent and then vulnerable without it," he stated

"I see, but i can't just let you skip classes just like that, what kind of principal would that make me," the principal chuckled

Jayden furrowed his brows. "Are you proposing a condition?" he asked

The principal smiled. "Indeed. I would let you have a pass to miss classes, but only the theoretical ones. You will attend the martial art and combat classes, where you can spar with your fellow colleagues," he said

"Wait, you're agreeing to his demands?" Kate, who had been quiet the whole time finally decided to speak. "You're aware of what he wants to do during this 'free' time, right?" she muttered

"Yes i am," he replied

"And you are okay with it? He wants to go hunting in the forests, and he doesn't even know what his ability is yet. He'll get himself killed," she retorted

"You worry too much Kate, he'll be fine," the principal smiled and turned to face Jayden. Won't you?" he asked with a cheeky smile

But Jayden didn't look excited in the slightest bit, he simply nodded. "Fine, I'll attend the two classes," he muttered

"Great! But atleast attend today's classes, you can begin using your pass from tomorrow," the principal added, to which Jayden nodded

Kate sighed. "You are going to be the cause of his demise, and I'll make sure to haunt you about it, when it happens," she said

The principal scoffed. "Death? If i recall correctly, young Jayden over here, had just came back from the dead. He was a human who survived a lighting strike, if he can survive that, he can survive anything," he said with a smirk

Kate wanted to say something but principal Thompson wasn't finished. "Okay that's enough, Kate," he said sharply, but with a calm voice. "I know you are worried, but he's a tough kid, trust me. And something tells me that in no time, he'll become just as strong as you and me,"

Kate scoffed. "Aren't you giving him too much credit? Besides, i think, you're just scared of her, aren't you?" she clicked

"Well, you might just be correct. Maybe I'm scared of her, or maybe i don't want to have my face fried," principal Thompson laughed heartily, but his voice had a hint of nervousness.

Jayden was curious, who was this person they were talking about? Could it another person who was protecting him from the shadows? But whoever it was, she was clearly powerful, enough to make the principal scared.

"Look, she made it clear we had to give him whatever he wanted, and that's simply what I'm doing," he added

Kate shrugged. "Fine, just know..."

"I know, i know, if he dies, you'll haunt me," the principal muttered. "Jesus Kate. You are just as stubborn as you were a little girl, but atleast, go easy on this old man," he smiled

Kate shook her head and turned to walk out of the office. "You are just as comical as always, uncle," she said with a little smile drawn across her lips. "Come on kid, I haven't got all day,"

Jayden looked at the principal one last time before following behind Kate. He had different thoughts going through his mind as they walked through the corridors. "Hm, they're related. That explains the closeness and strength. But, who was the woman they were talking about?" he pondered

"Well, that's the least of my worries for now. Thankfully, I managed to get what I wanted," he thought. Earlier, he didn't really know what he to ask for. But when the principal was giving Kate instructions about supervision and monitor, he immediately knew what he wanted. Supervision would mean restriction.

"I will not be stripped of my freedom ever again, besides i have enough eyes watching me from the shadows already. The woman, and whoever the principal is working for, but I'm sure they are not connected at all," he stated inwardly, wondering who his mysterious guardian angels were.

Then he shrugged. "That can wait, for now i need to find out more about my ability. I don't even know if energy meditation and eating beast meat would be effective on me, but either way, i have to find out," Jayden muttered to himself

"Hey!" Kate called out, snapping him out of his thoughts. He raised his head to look at her, wondering what the matter was.

"You have been standing there since, aren't you going to go in?" she asked

"Uhn," he said, before looking around his current surroundings. He was already standing at the entrance of his classroom. "Oh, I'll be entering now," he said and walked in. But before he could take a step, Kate stopped him

"I don't know why he suddenly thinks, you can fight beasts on your own, but do be careful," she said with a genuine worried look

Jayden was stunned, he didn't think Kate would care this much to even worry about his life. "Thank you miss Kate, I will," he muttered with a smile

"Good. And when it finally happens, don't forget to breathe, take your mind off the pain by thinking about something you love. And constantly speak the mantra, trust me, it works," she stated and entered the classroom, leaving Jayden dumbfounded and curious.

"What does she mean by that? Is she talking about about when I'm about to die? But more importantly, how did she know about my mantra and what does she mean by it works?" he pondered deeply. Before walking inside the classroom as well and heading to his seat, completely oblivious to the stares of the other students.

Jayden sat in his seat and continued thinking. "But come to think of it, back at the office, she was constantly telling the principal to not give in to my demand. And that was so, I won't go to the forests," he thought, ignoring the death stare Jessica was giving him.

"So now he's ignoring me. Hmph, how arrogant," she said inwardly with an invisible pout, constantly stealing glances at Jayden.

But he was too busy with his thoughts, to even notice her existence. "Well, whatever it is can wait, I really can't have any distractions for now. But she was right, I don't think I can face an F-Rank beast right now, not even with my boosted stats," he pondered. While still wondering how the stats were boosted in the first place, the system had no hand in it. "Then, I should begin with the quests first, that should be easier," he concluded, just before he heard a voice in his head.

[I think you're being watched] Luna said

Jayden raised a brow. "Watched?" he asked in curiosity

[Sorry, I believe the right human phrase is, someone is staring daggers into you] she stated. Making Jayden glance around the class, wondering what or who, Luna was talking about.

Then his gaze landed on Jessica, who was seating next to him. She hadn't expected it at all, Jayden had caught her off guard, making her instinctively turn her gaze away from him in an instant.

"What are you doing, Jessica?" she muttered to herself. "He needs to have a piece of my mind," Jessica thought, before stealing a glance at Jayden, who was still staring at her

"Why is he still looking at me? No, why am I not?" she stated, just before turning her head to face Jayden again, their gaze locked on each other. Jayden had an indifferent expression on his face, one that intimidated her slightly, but she couldn't back down now.

Summoning all the courage in her belly, chest, or... wherever the fuck courage comes from, she put on a serious expression, sighed in her heart, and began. "You are a bad person."
