Jayden widened his eyes, he had heard the principal's last statement clearly, he frowned and looked at him intimidatingly, but before he could say anything, the principal continued
"That's right kid, i know all about your past, where you grew up, who your mother was and how she... died," he said
Jayden's frown deepened at the mention of his mother, it was a really sensitive topic for him. "You were there that night? You work for the EVA?" he asked, his voice getting colder with every word
But even with Jayden's intimidating aura, the principal laughed, afterall he wasn't like Jayden could do anything to him. "Relax kid, i am no accomplice of the EVA, heck they were the reason my i lost my father. And neither was i there that night, let's just say i know a lot of things," he said with a cheeky smile
Jayden stared into his eyes for a while before slowly calming down, he took a deep breath and rest his back on the chair. "Okay so why don't you tell me the actual reason," he said sharply, his eyes filled with a calm, murderous intent
The principal was silent for a while before he sighed. "Well i guess you're are a smart one afterall. I know all these things because i was told by someone, someone who has been watching over you since you were a child, and now they've asked me to send you a message," he said
Jayden's interest was piqued. "What are you talking about? Who's been watching over me?" he asked calmly
"I'm afraid i can't tell you that, and it's best if you don't know. But what's more important is that the EVA knows this things as well, they have been keeping tabs on you, and I'm sure you know what that means," the principal replied
"I'm being watched," Jayden muttered
The principal shook his head. "Not quite, this person that has been watching over you has also made sure to make you a ghost to the best he can but it won't be enough. The lightening incident that occurred would certainly have reached the EVA, afterall it's a rare and almost impossible thing for someone to suddenly receive an ability after being marked as incompatible,"
"And seeing as your name is still... Well, your name, they might put two and two together. And don't forget what your mother and sister... were, they might have a feeling that you are also like them but just dormant. And now that you've suddenly developed abilities, what's stopping you from developing those genes as well," he explained
Jayden understood what the principal was saying, more than ever. What the principal didn't know was that Jayden had allegedly developed them already, but it couldn't be proved yet. But he was sure that the ability was not from an Evolution serum, neither was it from the system
"I didn't take any serum," he stated
"I know," the principal replied. "Which is why we already have a 'suitable' explanation, to both the doctors and the EVA,"
"You had taken the serum a long time ago as a child but it didn't work because you obviously weren't in the right age, and that was why you were incompatible later. The evolution serum can only be taken once and because you took it before, you couldn't take it again. But abilities still never developed through the years and when you got struck by lightning, it seemed to have triggered something that unlock the abilities finally," the principal explained. "What do you think?" he asked
"It's plausible," Jayden stated indifferently, not impressed but not also displeased. "But i don't want to hide, i want to crush them, i want to be myself and i want them to know that there's nothing they can do about it," he stated with determination
"That's a good goal, one that requires great power and strength. The EVA are the most powerful organization, both in strength and everything else, they run Alpha and keep tabs on all the other 4 planets, making it known that they still call the shots. You need to be stronger than ever, and i have been asked to help you," the principal said
"I don't need help, i want to destroy them on my own," Jayden replied coldly
The principal sighed. "I'm afraid that would be impossible, you'll die trying. You're not the first person who tried to go against the EVA you know, you need power, as well as strong allies who would be willing to follow you in your quest," he said
"Like you?" Jayden scoffed
"Me, I'm merely a middle man between you and your anonymous guardian angel," The principal laughed. "I'll guide you, provide necessary resources and give you answers to what you want to know. And if you wish for me to fight by your side, i might if i think you worthy, afterall I'm at level 45," he said with a smile
Jayden wasn't surprised, he knew the old man had to be very powerful to be given the role of principal. But even most principals couldn't break pass level 30, he was even know as the strongest principal in the world, and that brought recognition to the school, making it one of the best in the globe.
"Okay," Jayden said. "I'll get stronger, but I'm curious about something. You said they were responsible for your father's death, did you try and fight them?" he asked
The principal smiled wryly. "That's a thing of the past boy, i tried, and i gave up knowing it was pointless. But hopefully you don't end up like me," he said with a saddened expression
"Oh i won't, i promise," Jayden muttered
"Good, so get stronger quickly and try to stay off the radar... You know, don't draw attention to yourself, at least until you are strong enough, if you need anything, you know where to find me. Good luck boy," the principal said
Jayden nodded and stood up. "I would think about what i want as my reward, but for now I'd like a request, and an answer to a quick question," he said
"What's that?" the old man said
"Do you know anything about my sister's whereabout? Where they are keeping her?" he asked
The principal shook his head. "I'm sorry, i have no clue, but how are you sure that's she's still alive?" he asked
Jayden clenched his fist. "I figured he wouldn't know anything about it," he sighed inwardly. "She is, i know she is. But why don't you ask this mysterious guardian of mine about it," he voiced out sharply
"Okay, i will. And as for your request?" the principal said. But just then, a knock was heard on the door, and before the principal could say anything, someone entered.
"I knocked and you didn't answer, so i came in," Miss Kate muttered with her usual indifferent expression as she walked over to the principal and Jayden
The principal had a smug smile on his face, it wasn't even a complete second after she knocked. "Ah, Kate, how are you?" he asked but Kate didn't reply, her attention was fixed on Jayden who didn't even spare her a glance
"Okay then, down to business. I believe you know that Jayden here, suffered from the incident a few weeks back," he continued and Kate nodded. "Good, and i believe that you have been briefed on his... Changes,"
"I have," she replied with a stoic expression
"Alright so i need you to continue your job to make sure he isn't intimidated and that's he's put under close supervision. He doesn't know his ability yet and the machines can't seem to decipher it as well," the principal stated
Kate raised a brow. "How is that possible, then how did they know he had an ability in the first instance?" she asked with a curious gaze, still staring at Jayden
"That's what we don't understand too, but trust me he has developed an ability, afterall the doctors would lie," he replied
"Alright, I'll do all that you have asked," she replied
"Good, treat him well too, he's a hero," he added
"I understand," Kate said
"You may both leave," the principal said, while waving his hands dismissively.
Kate began walking out of the room while Jayden remained standing on a spot, his eyes staring daggers into the principal. Kate turned back to look at him while the principal raised his eyebrow
"Anything the problem boy?" he asked
"You haven't granted my request," Jayden said indifferently
The principal laughed slightly. "Ah, yes! Go on then, what do you need?" he asked with a curious look
"I want a pass," Jayden said
"A pass to what?" the principal chuckled
Jayden's expression didn't change, he remained stoic. "I want a pass to skip classes,"
