The Restrained Wooden Golem Technique

Sand—common and unremarkable in a place surrounded by the sea.

But in the hands of Crocodile, a Sand-Sand Fruit (Suna Suna no Mi) user, ordinary sand becomes a deadly weapon.

A vast area became engulfed in sand, launching an indiscriminate assault against all the pirates.

The John Pirates, though strong, didn't panic in the face of the overwhelming sand. Instead, they responded in an orderly fashion, resisting and counterattacking.

Moments later—

What had once been a rocky shoreline was now a land of sand and gravel, like a vast desert.

Crocodile, already fatigued from prolonged fighting, was panting after unleashing this massive attack.

The John Pirates, however, fared far worse. Many had died from this move—either buried alive, crushed, or drained of all moisture and turned into mummies.

"You little brat..."

John's expression was as dark as could be. The deaths of so many of his men left him humiliated. He was, after all, a renowned pirate of decades—yet now being pushed this far by a youngster.

"I..."

Before he could finish, a flash of green light suddenly struck. His attention was solely on Crocodile, leaving him completely unguarded. By the time he noticed the light, it was already too late.

Boom!

The green light struck him precisely, bursting into a spray of blood. But that wasn't all.

The moment it hit, the light flared violently—and sharp bamboo spikes burst from within his body, skewering him from front to back.

"Ahhh!"

John let out a horrifying scream. The combination of the flying finger gun and the bamboo impalement dealt him devastating damage, forcing a loud cry of pain.

"Who was it?! Who ambushed me?!"

His voice turned sharp from agony and rage. To think someone had gotten so close and landed a sneak attack without him realizing.

This sudden turn of events left both Crocodile and the John Pirates stunned.

Everyone had clearly seen John's horrible condition, and fear struck their hearts.

One thing was clear: the attacker wasn't one of them. That meant—someone else was hiding nearby.

Instantly, all eyes began scanning the surroundings.

"There!"

Someone suddenly pointed at where Jon was.

All eyes turned. There stood a Marine, draped in a coat of justice, slowly walking toward them.

"A Marine..."

The pirates were stunned. They hadn't expected to encounter a Marine here. And clearly, the one who attacked John could only be this man.

After a brief shock, the pirates immediately grew wary. A Marine never shows up alone.

"A Marine. Damn it! A Marine dares ambush me!"

John's pain clouded his reasoning, his eyes burning with cold fury.

"A Marine attacking pirates—isn't that how it should be? You're quite disgraceful for someone of your status, Captain John, former member of the Rocks Pirates."

Jon stopped some distance away, eyes sweeping over John and the others.

"The John Pirates... and a newly rising pirate star—Logia-type Sand-Sand Fruit user. Looks like I got lucky."

"This Marine..."

Crocodile inhaled deeply, now on high alert.

Though they'd just been in an intense fight, this Marine had approached completely undetected. That ambush on John—if it had been Crocodile in John's place, the result likely would've been just as bad.

"A mere Rear Admiral... Who gave you such audacity?"

John looked around, relieved to find no other Marines. He yanked the bamboo spikes from his body, clutching his wounds, glaring at Jon.

People in this world have insane vitality. Even after being impaled like that, John could still stand.

"Kill this Marine! Kill him!"

John suddenly roared. His men immediately abandoned Crocodile and charged toward Jon.

"Trying to win by numbers?"

Jon smiled slightly and clapped his hands. Instantly, trees began sprouting around him. Within seconds, they grew ten meters tall.

"Wooden Golem Technique!"

The towering trees twisted and reshaped—branches converging, trunks contorting, roots intertwining—slowly transforming into humanoid forms.

Twenty massive, ten-meter-tall wooden golems emerged, surrounding Jon at the center.

"Go!"

With a wave of his hand, all twenty golems opened their eyes—huge, bowl-sized glowing green orbs. The wooden warriors came alive and marched forward toward the pirates.

Their sudden appearance startled the pirates. And once they engaged in combat, several pirates were instantly sent flying, coughing blood. The others turned pale.

"W-What are these monsters?"

Seeing the wooden golems born before their eyes and then witnessing their raw power, the pirates were horrified. The golems gave them no chance—charging in with brutal force.

"What the hell kind of power is this?"

Even John's eyelid twitched. The sight of twenty wooden golems shook him to the core. He'd seen plenty in his time, but this was something else.

A Rear Admiral could be this strong?

The John Pirates were completely outmatched. These twenty golems alone had thrown them into chaos.

This wasn't Jon's first encounter with New World pirates. But frankly, compared to the Big Mom Pirates he'd fought before, the John Pirates were mediocre.

Especially Captain John—based on his fight with Crocodile, he might not even be a match for Katakuri, let alone Charlotte Linlin.

"Hmm?"

Jon's expression suddenly changed as he looked to the side. Two wooden golems had been engulfed by sand—and moments later, they collapsed into dried-up mummies.

"How interesting... Absorbing the moisture from the trees to defeat them. Looks like the Wooden Golem Technique really has found its natural counter."

Since Jon created the technique, no one had ever taken it down so easily.

The massive size of the golems meant slow movement, and they simply couldn't compete with the speed of Crocodile's sand. The sand absorbed their water, quickly withering the golems to death.

In a sense, Crocodile really was the nemesis of the Wooden Golem Technique.
