Annoying Ex-In-Law

"Let go, Sandra."

Sandra smirked but didn't release her. Instead, she leaned in slightly, eyes glinting with something malicious. "Fancy seeing you here. What brings you to a hospital? Finally trying to fix what's broken in you?"

Delphinia bit the inside of her cheek, stopping herself from snapping back. She didn't want a scene, especially not here. All she wanted was to get away.

"It's none of your business," she said firmly, yanking her wrist free.

Sandra let out a laugh, tossing her hair back. "Oh, but everything about you has always been my business. You married into my family, remember?"

Delphinia crossed her arms, her patience running thin. "I'm not part of your family anymore, Sandra. And thank God for that."

Delphinia's expression didn't change as she stood across from Sandra. The woman before her looked just as she remembered—artificially perfect, dressed in designer clothes, and radiating an air of smug superiority.
