Regardless of her moans of refusal, they both went three more rounds before dawn. It wasn't until the sun was fully peeking out of the clouds, closer to noon, that she slowly stirred awake.
Her hands moved to cover her face from the glare of the sun through the window, hoping to get more sleep as she tightly shut her eyes. Only a few minutes passed before she angrily snapped her eyes open, glaring at the window, wishing she didn't have to get up to close it.
But it was at that moment that she realized she was the only one on the bed…and in the room. Her forehead scrunched up in confusion as she looked around, only to discover that not only was the space beside her empty, but the sheets had also been changed. It was clear Cain hadn't slept on the other side.
