Violet’s life was never her own—her father’s crushing debt made sure of that. But when the debt collector kidnaps her as payment, she takes a desperate deal: become a servant and spy on the mysterious and tyrannical Lord Cain, the ruler of her Werewolf district.
There’s just one catch: Lord Cain only permits male servants in his house.
Disguised as a boy, Violet cuts her hair, flattens her chest, and dons a voice-altering band to pull off the deception. Everything goes according to plan—until Cain, a man known for his cold personality starts to take a peculiar interest in her.
Violet’s disguise becomes a prison as she battles her own growing attraction to him. But this is no love story. Cain’s obsession to her is dangerous. Beneath his icy gaze lies a mind fractured by years of affliction by a curse.
A curse made by Violet's biological mother: A powerful witch.
*************
"TAKE IT OFF!"
Violet’s knees nearly buckled at the thunderous command, her chest tightening with panic. The raw anger in Cain’s voice was as sharp as a blade.
"My lord! I-I’m a man!" she stammered, gripping her shirt tightly, her fingers trembling as they clung to the fabric.
"I don't like other men!" she cried, a desperate plea in her voice since the second she took her shirt off and he discovered that she was a woman was the moment she died. Painfully.
Cain’s glare was unyielding, his voice dropping into a growl. "Don’t insult me, You think I do. You kissed me!"
Her breath hitched as he stepped closer, his presence suffocating. "If you don’t take it off," he said, his tone low and dangerous, "I’ll rip it off myself."
Violet’s mind raced, panic threatening to overwhelm her. She couldn’t let him find out—he’d kill her. Painfully.
Glancing away to avoid his gaze when she caught the undeniable bulge in his trousers. Heat flushed her face, her thoughts spinning in desperation at the only idea she could think of to make him back off.
'This has to work. It has to…’
I am in love with everything that has to do with this book.
I like this book for various reasons. First was the way the characters and world was introduced. It was easy to understand. The writing is also pretty good and barely any edits are needed except the parts the author promised to fix. Secondly, the tension between the main characters is epic and I love the fact that even the side characters aren’t flat. They have life and you can’t help but relate to them too. Thirdly…fourthly…fifthly…I really like the book and I can’t want to see how it goes especially since just when I think I know what will happen next…i find out that I don’t. Keep up the good work author💪
I’ve poured my heart into creating characters you’ll root for and a romance you’ll never forget. Don’t hesitate to comment.
💜💜I love the suspense between Cain and Violet, especially through the last chapters 🤭 but I am getting impatient about the moment Cain will find out the truth, it will be epic I guess. . Thanks dear author for your skillful writing and magical world full of werewolves vampires and witches. I love them all. But there is something I really look forward to which is our Violet's gaining more power by discovering more about herself and her character, turning from being a helpless timid girl into a strong and confident woman. Please give us more chapters ❤️
This author definitely knows how get people's attention on his books. well done I love the way it going
I love how the book is going very captivating well done author
I would say quite a gifted author. I really enjoy this book - like REALLY enjoy it, and I’m a very tough crowd🤣🫠 sooowwwwyy. It’s all lovin’🥹🩵 There’s some real dragging along and repetitive scenes in this book were you feel teased, but I hope it will get better in upcoming books, or you simply need to mark them as ‘slow burns’. God I hate slow burns please don’t go down that route 😭 Also A LOT of character and story development around the mains, which I hate, but I know some people like. Ash Knight does it a lot too and god I hate it. Overall; exceptional character development, staying true to the characters nature (LOOOVE that), great world build, excellent language, great pace of story (more touchdown needed with mains though when writing about the side characters) and a set of uniquely qualities about the read; quite brutish. I really enjoy that though - it’s normally something you only get from male writers, because men are so savage 😭 OH! BIIIIIIG points for the ML being blond! I REALLY, REAAALLYYY enjoy that. Love a goldie blonde🥹💓
