Chapter 184: Who Truly Deserves to Save the Ninja World?

Chapter 184: Who Truly Deserves to Save the Ninja World?

"Has peace returned to the ninja world?"

Ashura paused, his brow furrowing in confusion.

The idea that peace had been achieved while Kaguya still loomed before them was absurd to him.

"Yes," Black Zetsu replied with a smug grin. "My mother and I have already surrendered to Lord Uchiha Yi. From now on, we will be peaceful citizens of this world. The ninja world doesn't need you to save it anymore. You can go back to where you came from."

"That's impossible!" Ashura declared, shaking his head.

"You would never abandon your plans to replant the Divine Tree. The moment I leave, you'll restart your schemes and plunge the world into chaos again!"

Black Zetsu sighed dramatically, feigning exasperation.

"Is it so hard to believe? Lord Uchiha Yi has placed binding seals on us to restrict our every action. My mother and I couldn't destroy the ninja world even if we wanted to."

Hearing this, Ashura clenched his fists. Kaguya's history as a threat made it impossible for him to trust her or her offspring.

"Your words are lies. You and Kaguya are too dangerous. For the good of the world, she must be sealed again!"

Black Zetsu tilted his head mockingly, the grin on his face widening.

"Poor Ashura," Black Zetsu sneered. "You're as stubborn and blind as ever. You'll never believe anyone but yourself."

Ashura's resolve didn't falter. "I won't let my guard down. I know you're plotting something. You always are. And even if you aren't, Kaguya's very existence is a threat. She has to be sealed!"

Watching the scene unfold, Uchiha Yi smirked.

"You're pathetic, Ashura. You're just like your father, Hagoromo. Blind to anything that doesn't align with your self-righteous views. You don't want peace unless it's your peace, do you?"

"Silence!" Ashura's voice was sharp. "You have no right to speak of peace. You've killed, manipulated, and taken power that doesn't belong to you. You're a danger to this world."

"Ah, so I'm a danger now?" Uchiha Yi mocked, laughing coldly. "Let me guess: the ninja world only deserves to be saved by you or Hagoromo, right? Because no one else can be trusted to do it 'correctly.'"

Ashura's face hardened. "This is not a debate. Your existence and Kaguya's are both threats. For the sake of the world, I will eliminate both of you."

Uchiha Yi shook his head. "You're just like the rest of the Ōtsutsuki clan. You think you're above everyone else."

Kaguya, who had been silently observing, finally spoke. Her voice carried a mix of sorrow and bitterness.

"This time, I will not yield," she declared, her gaze sharp and determined. "If Hagoromo and Hamura's descendants insist on treating their mother as a threat, then I shall sever these ties completely."

Her words carried the weight of millennia of resentment. Sealed for over a thousand years by her own children, Kaguya had long grown weary of their repeated betrayals.

Ashura turned his gaze to Uchiha Yi, his hostility evident.

"You're the one who killed Indra, aren't you?"

"Don't phrase it like that," Uchiha Yi replied casually. "He was asking for it. I merely obliged. After all, I'm a nice guy."

"Enough!" Ashura snapped, his voice echoing with frustration. "I won't leave the fate of the ninja world in the hands of someone like you!"

Uchiha Yi chuckled, unimpressed by the accusation.

"Well then," he said, turning to the crowd that had gathered to watch. "It seems we've reached an impasse. Everyone, listen up. You've seen what's happened here. Now it's time to decide."

His voice carried across the clearing, commanding attention.

"Do you think Ashura is right? Do you think he and Hagoromo are the only ones fit to save this world? Then join him."

"Or do you believe that I'm right? That the ninja world is better off without their meddling? If so, stand with me."

He paused, letting his words sink in.

"You have a few minutes to decide."

The ultimatum caused a ripple of unease among the shinobi.

Many of them had been freed from Infinite Tsukuyomi only moments ago. They had barely had time to process the chaos they'd awakened to, let alone make such a monumental decision.

Ashura folded his arms, his expression stern. He did not move, silently daring Uchiha Yi to act first.

One figure, however, stepped forward without hesitation.

"Minato?" Jiraiya's voice was filled with surprise.

Minato Namikaze walked slowly but purposefully toward Uchiha Yi. His face was a mask of determination.

"Minato, what are you doing?" Kakashi asked, his tone laced with concern.

Minato didn't answer immediately. When he finally spoke, his voice was quiet but firm.

"My son is gone," he said. "And the people responsible for that claim they did it for the greater good."

Jiraiya flinched. He knew where Minato was going with this. He felt the same pain, the same anger, but he hadn't been brave enough to act on it.

"Peace built on such sacrifices isn't peace," Minato continued. "It's just more destruction, hidden behind pretty words."

He stopped beside Uchiha Yi, his gaze fixed on Ashura.

"I choose to stand here," he said.

Gasps echoed through the crowd, but Minato didn't waver.

Jiraiya closed his eyes and sighed deeply.

It was a painful choice, but he understood.

He stepped forward and joined Minato.

Slowly, one by one, others began to move. Some followed Ashura, their trust in the Sage of Six Paths unshaken.

But many stood with Minato, choosing to place their faith in Uchiha Yi.

By the time the crowd had settled, it was clear where the majority stood.

Ashura's expression darkened, his hands clenching into fists.

"You've all made a terrible mistake," he said.

Uchiha Yi grinned, his confidence unshaken.

"We'll see," he replied. "Now, let's settle this."

End of Chapter 184.
