Before he could process it, she moved.

Gracie lunged for the necklace, her fingers barely grazing it before Davis's hand shot out, grabbing her wrist.

His grip was firm, his gaze hard. "What did you do to her?"

Gracie blinked. Wait… that was his first question? Not "who the hell are you?"

"I— I didn't do anything, I swear! She'll wake up any second now. So just… let me go and give me that," she said, tugging at her wrist.
