Quietly, he turned to face the girl still lying on the floor.

He was an absolute mess.

His chest rose and fell in uneven breaths, his body still thrumming with heat. His lips burned from the intensity of that kiss, and his mind? Completely wrecked.

He had kissed his fair share of women, but this...this was different.

His fingers twitched at his sides, still aching with the phantom sensation of her. His pulse was erratic, and—damn it—his body was betraying him in ways he didn't even want to acknowledge.

He was hard.

Painfully so.

His jaw clenched as he ran a hand down his face, trying to pull himself together, but it was no use. Every second replayed in his mind—the way she crashed into him without hesitation, the way she kissed like she had nothing to lose, the way she sucked on his bottom lip just enough to send his brain into a downward spiral.

And then she just left.

Like nothing had happened.
