CHAPTER 54:VENESSA'S RETURNS

Later, Luca found someone, and they began torturing the person.

"What happened to Vanessa? Tell me! Answer me!" Vincenzo roared as he used a hot iron on her skin.

"Speak!"

"Vincenzo, stop! You are hurting me!" The voice hit him hard.

This voice sounded so much like Vanessa.

Blood gushed from her abdomen as she struggled to hold her stomach.

"Vincenzo, you are hurting me! Stop!" Vanessa cried out. "The sewing has split. Get me to the hospital, please! I don't want to die!"

"Vanessa," he said, lifting her in his arms.

At the Hospital

Vincenzo paced the hospital room until the doctor finally came out.

"She's fine, but she's sedated and asleep. You can see her later."

---

Soon, Vanessa stirred.

"Vincenzo," she said weakly, her eyes filling with tears. "They are after my life, please."

She cried. "I have been in pain for the past two months. I was abducted. I managed to escape."

"You will be fine. I will sort out everything," he said, kissing her hair. "It's good you are alive."

"How are the kids?"

"They are doing fine."

"Can I see them?"

"You will, but you have to relax, okay?"

She nodded.

Later That Night

As Vincenzo sat by Vanessa's bedside, his phone buzzed on the table. The number was unfamiliar. He hesitated before answering, his voice low and cold.

"Who is this?"

A deep, menacing chuckle came through the line, sending chills down his spine.

"You should have let her die, Vincenzo."

His heart froze. His grip on the phone tightened, his knuckles whitening. "Who the hell are you?"

The voice on the other end ignored his question.

"Now the real fun begins."

The line went dead.

Vincenzo stared at the screen, his heart pounding. His gaze shifted to Vanessa, peaceful in her sleep, unaware of the storm that was about to hit .
