CHAPTER 55:SUSPENCE

Vincenzo walked into the hospital room, gently cradling the twins in his arms. He approached the bed where Vanessa lay, still weak but awake.

"Here they are," Vincenzo said softly, placing the babies into her arms.

Vanessa's face lit up with a mixture of relief and pure joy. She hugged them tightly as tears cascaded down her cheeks.

"Vanessa, it's fine. Stop the tears," Vincenzo whispered, gently brushing her cheek with his hand.

But Vanessa couldn't stop. "I've missed them so much..."

She was about to breastfeed them, but Vincenzo paused, a concerned expression crossing his face. "Are you sure about this? You're still recovering."

Vanessa nodded, determination in her eyes. "Hmm, I am."

Vincenzo watched as Vanessa breastfed the twins, his heart swelling with love and pride. His joy was overwhelming. Once she finished, he leaned in and kissed her forehead.

"Everything will be fine, okay?" he whispered softly.

She nodded, resting her head against his shoulder as the babies slept peacefully in her arms.

---

Vincenzo's eyes darkened with concern. "I know you're still weak, but I need to know everything. How were you abducted?"

Vanessa winced at the question, her face clouding with pain. She took a deep breath and began, her voice barely above a whisper.

"It was sudden. They came at night, so quiet... I didn't even hear them coming. They took me while I was asleep, blindfolded me... I couldn't see anything for days. They kept me locked up, trying to break me down. It was torture, Vincenzo. They... they threatened to hurt the babies if I didn't do what they said. I couldn't let them near my children..."
