Chapter 105: I Will Wait for You in the Shinobi World
After Uchiha Kagami and his group disappeared into the distance, Senju Hashirama finally freed himself from the black spear's restraints. He sighed heavily as he bent down and pulled Tobirama off the ground.
---
"Tobirama… How many times have I told you not to follow me?"
"First Hokage-sama, the Second Hokage only came because he was worried about you…"
Hashirama waved his hand, stopping Hiruzen Sarutobi mid-sentence. Shaking his head, he let out a long sigh.
"Now look at us. We're banned from returning to Konoha. This is your doing, Tobirama."
Senju Tobirama crossed his arms and turned his head away, his defiance clear.
The most disheartened among them, however, was Orochimaru.
He had numerous experiments and critical equipment stored within the Land of Fire.
Unlike the others, Orochimaru knew better than to ignore Kagami's warning. It wasn't that Kagami couldn't deal with him—it was that he hadn't bothered to. But if Kagami decided to focus his efforts, he could make Orochimaru's life a nightmare.
"Are we really not going back to Konoha?" Tobirama's voice rose in frustration.
"With my Flying Thunder God Technique, I could—"
"Look at your foot, Tobirama," Hashirama interrupted.
Tobirama immediately sensed something amiss and looked down. His face darkened as he saw the intricate Flying Thunder God seal winding around his ankle.
A quick search revealed similar seals on Sarutobi and Orochimaru.
"When did this…"
"When you all froze in place under Kagami's chakra," Hashirama replied with a tone of resignation.
The realization hit Orochimaru hard. The seal wasn't ordinary—it bore the distinctive mark of Namikaze Minato.
---
"The Flying Thunder God seal… He's mastered it to a level beyond even yours, Tobirama," Orochimaru noted.
Tobirama's fists clenched.
"Brother, you're saying even you aren't a match for Kagami?"
Hashirama shook his head solemnly.
"The Kagami we saw today… He's even stronger than the Madara I last fought."
"Even in my prime, I couldn't guarantee a victory against him."
Tobirama and Sarutobi were left speechless.
For even the legendary God of Shinobi to admit defeat—it was hard to process.
Hashirama shot Tobirama a pointed look.
"Monkeys were getting along just fine with him. Why did you have to open your mouth and antagonize him?"
"I've told you so many times to stop provoking the Uchiha!"
But Tobirama stood firm, unwilling to back down.
Before another argument could erupt, Orochimaru interjected.
"None of this matters now. First Hokage-sama, what should we do next?"
Hashirama fell silent, deep in thought.
Originally, he had only wanted to have a conversation with Kagami before returning to the Pure Land.
He couldn't fully understand Kagami's ideology. Parts of it made sense, but something felt off.
Most importantly…
Madara would return.
If possible, Hashirama wanted to meet Madara face-to-face, resolve their differences, and return to the Pure Land together.
Letting out a long sigh, Hashirama finally spoke.
"On my way here, I saw chaos worse than during the Warring States Period."
"The shinobi of the other nations are all gathering in the Land of Lightning, leaving countless innocents to suffer."
Hashirama's gaze turned firm as he looked toward the Land of Wind.
"If we can't return to Konoha, we'll build a new village.
"We'll offer protection to those in need.
"At the very least…
"We can ensure that the future Kagami described never comes to pass."
---
---
In a dense forest, Minato turned to Kagami.
"Shinobi duties call. Sakumo and I need to return. Will you come with us, or take your time getting back?"
Kagami considered it for a moment before shaking his head.
"With my chakra reserves, teleporting me back would drain you for days. I'll make my own way."
"Understood…" Minato hesitated, then asked the question that had been weighing on his mind.
"Kagami… That future you saw. How did Kushina and I die?"
Kagami chuckled softly.
"I thought you'd hold back from asking."
"How could I? Who wouldn't want to know?" Minato admitted, smiling bitterly.
---
"It's simple," Kagami began.
"Someone took advantage of Kushina during childbirth and extracted the Nine-Tails."
"Without her, the village fell into chaos, and you… Well, you followed her shortly after."
Minato's face hardened as he grabbed Kagami's wrist.
"Details. I need details."
Kagami sighed, realizing Minato wouldn't let it go.
"During Kushina's labor, Obito—carrying Uchiha Madara's summoning contract—attacked and extracted the Nine-Tails.
"The resulting Nine-Tails Incident devastated the village."
"In that timeline, I wasn't there, and neither was the Uchiha clan."
Minato's grip tightened as he pieced together the scenario.
The Nine-Tails rampaging unchecked… Without Kagami or the Uchiha to counter it…
The village would've paid an unimaginable price.
---
"There's still time…" Minato's eyes burned with determination.
"I swear, I'll protect Kushina no matter what!"
Kagami gave him a sidelong glance, unimpressed.
Minato might be prepared, but Obito's Kamui was nearly impossible to counter.
"Protecting her is easier said than done," Kagami replied. "When she gives birth, she'll be at her weakest. And Obito's abilities…"
Minato's resolve wavered for a moment before he looked Kagami in the eye.
"Then this is my one and only request of you, Kagami."
"When Kushina's time comes, promise me you'll return."
Kagami sighed and pried Minato's hand off his wrist.
"Fine. I'll be there."
---
As they continued through the forest, Kagami suddenly stopped, sensing something unusual.
"What's wrong, Kagami?" Minato asked.
Kagami crouched and placed his hand on the ground. His chakra extended deep into the earth, probing the rocky layers.
What he found surprised him: a small toad, faint traces of chakra swirling around it.
"Ninja toads…" Kagami murmured, recognizing the signature.
Apart from Minato, only one other man was known for summoning toads.
A faint smile crossed Kagami's lips as he infused black energy into the ground. The toad was dragged up, flailing in protest.
"Ouch, ouch, ouch!"
A familiar voice echoed from the toad's belly. Moments later, a hand emerged, followed by a tall figure stepping out.
"Jiraiya-sensei!" Minato exclaimed, his joy evident.
---
Kagami's eyes softened slightly at the sight of Jiraiya. Despite their differences, he held a grudging respect for the man's decision to stay neutral during the Uchiha rebellion.
"Still spying, old pervert?" Kagami teased.
Jiraiya laughed awkwardly, scratching the back of his head.
"Don't say that! I just got here. I was worried about my beloved student."
"Jiraiya-sensei…" Minato's voice trailed off, his joy tempered by the gravity of their meeting.
Jiraiya's expression turned serious.
"Kagami, I came to deliver a warning."
"I've gathered intelligence suggesting that the shinobi in the Land of Lightning… are developing a terrifying weapon of war."
