At that moment the boss's cries grew more desperate as Kai approached, his steps deliberate and heavy, like a predator closing in on wounded prey. Blood pooled beneath the boss's shattered hands, staining the cold floor as he writhed in agony.

Tears started streaming down his face, his voice trembling with desperation.

"Wait! Please, just wait! I'll give you anything—money, women, properties—whatever you want, it's yours! I have power, connections, anything you can dream of! Just spare my life, please!" His words tumbled over each other, the fear in his tone starkly contrasting the bravado he had worn minutes earlier.

He couldn't believe this would be the end of him, after all the connections he was built in the city, he couldn't believe everything would be ending in such manner.

At that moment Kai stopped a few feet away, tilting his head slightly as he regarded the pitiful man before him.
