The boss smirked, blood dripping from his lip as he straightened up slightly.

"You really think I'd just hand that over? You think I'd sell out my people? I control this city, detective. The judges, the officers, even the mayor—they're all in my pocket."

Kai arched a brow, tilting his head slightly.

"You're awfully proud for a man bleeding out on his own floor."

Immediately the boss's smirk faltered for a moment, but he quickly regained it as the wailing sirens grew louder, their sound echoing through the mansion.

"You hear that? That's your death knell. The alarm I triggered—it brought them here. You're out of time, Nemesis hero. You've sealed your fate by stepping into my world."

At that moment Kai stared down at him, his face unreadable.

"If you control the system so well, then you'll have no problem explaining yourself to them when I hand over the evidence I've collected."
