Gin stood there, a slight smirk tugging at his lips as Kakashi muttered "Impossible." The wind carried a solemn silence, broken only by the rustling of leaves and his teammates' soft murmur of disbelief. Sai had his usual emotionless face, but his eyes betrayed curiosity. Tsukihime, on the other hand, looked equal parts amused and exasperated as she turned away, cheeks slightly flushed. 'How did I fall in love with you?' Tsukihime thought before shaking her head.
Gin, however, was oblivious to her thoughts, more preoccupied with internally celebrating his victory. Another day, another W. Kakashi sighed, rubbing the back of his head. "Well, you all pass," he said, a hint of a smirk playing on his lips. I can't tell if this guy is an idiot or a genius… probably both. The tension in the air dissipated almost instantly. Tsukihime released a breath she didn't realize she was holding, and Sai merely nodded, as if this was the expected outcome all along.
"Great, now that we are official Genin what next?" I said
Sai, being the socially inept genius he is, stepped forward. "You didn't answer Kakashi-sensei's question earlier." I raised an eyebrow, said understood that I didn't know what he was speaking of, and he elaborated "The bell. Why did you split it in half?"
"Because I am built differently" I answered in a knowing tone that made me look like a sage advising his student, sai who heard that had a small twitch in his smile. That is another w for me. After enjoying it for a while, I gave in and revealed why I split the bell. Which was the conversation I had with kakashi and this.
"Wait, you could have just worked with us though?" Tasukihime asked a little annoyed at being blindsided like this.
"Too much work," I said, it was honestly easier to this one move than to convince them to work and make up a strategy in which honestly I am going to be supporting these two and finally getting the bell only for one of them to mess it up. It was Sai since he wouldn't share the bell with anyone because it was his 'mission' to not do it.
"Getting back to the question gin asked, we are calling it a day today, be here tomorrow at 8 am sharp," Kakashi said before disappearing in a body flicker. I looked at the other two and said
"Let's eat something" which both of them agreed to do so in a heartbeat. We walked to the yakiniku Q, and along the way, we met with the other Konoha 12 well I guess it is Konoha 18 now but that is such an awkward number to have though.
{Kakashi pov}
Kakashi had just finished reporting what had happened on the training field to Minato and kushina who were surprisingly curious about his explanation than any others. Saratobi who was there released a long puff of his pipe and said "I see… He is coming along wonderfully but his isolation and unwillingness to trust is clear to everyone."
"But he also did fit the requirement for teamwork in his way didn't he?" Minoto defended, to which Saratobi raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything.
"Well one thing is for sure, we need to monitor him more. He could become the greatest threat or the greatest ally for the Hidden Leaf village." Saratobi said to which Minato and kushina agreed. Since that was all they could do, they couldn't blindly deny that the psych may have been damaged by their fault.
"About that, I wonder when should we tell him?" Kushina said out loud, this caused great worry for the people in the room.
"Well, let's talk more on that later on. There is nothing to be done about it now" Minato said as they all watched Gin and his 'friends' eating barbeque.
{Gin pov, a week later}
Life is great man, I have easy missions to do and a bunch of wealth thanks to the side business I hold. I also brought some real estate with that money, since it could be useful for me. I am ever so close to reaching that million mark on my finances but it is good I guess and people don't discriminate against me as much probably fear that has turned into respect since I possess the eyes of Jesus for them. Anyway, I found myself in a very distasteful situation with a black cat named Tora. It was originally supposed to be a normal mission but later turned into a death match between me and Tora since both of us didn't like being scratched or bitten.
"Hahaa, Enough of this Gin-kun. Can you stop? It is a cat, why are you competing against a cat" Tasukihime said while trying to hold back laughter from her cherry pink lips which were a contrast to her pale skin and blind eyes.
"It started it, and are you ok tasukihime?" I asked out of concern, is it some sort of revenge the universe is contorting to erase the character that doesn't belong here?
"I am fine why do you ask?" She said, I just said in response
"You look a little more pale and you have been since we began training" Her eyes were saddened at this but quickly regained vigor as she seemed to register what I had said. Off she went into the imagination land with her thoughts being around me, evidenced by the blush on her cheeks. 'Dame, why did I have to be born with pale skin like this? It is hard to hide my embarrassed face' she thought.
"Are you guys done flirting?" Sai asked as he sneaked up on us while we were talking, he warmed up a little to us just ever so slightly enough for him not just give that condescending smile at everything.
"No, can you leave so we can continue" I said with the most straight face to which Sai had a sweat drop, he had not expected that and noted it down while muting something about responses to questions.
